My definition of bare minimum soil health is as follow: Under human eye microscopic examination: the following minimum criteria must be met to be considered a healthy soil. Anything you do to the soil to meet these minimum requirements is a soil health promoting practice and any thing you do that drives the soil below these standards is a soil degrading practice. The methods you choose to get up to this soil health standard is up to you. 1) Bacterial biomass 135 ug/g soil 2) Fungal biomass 135 ug/g 3) F:B ratio >= 0.3:1 4) Protozoa 10,000/g 5) Beneficial nematodes 100/g 6) Ciliates
