Here is my story with my DSL40CR amp I had 2/3 years ago. My DSL40CR had no output at all. literally. I took it to an amp tech. He said there was no output from the front of the amp, the fx loop (which bypasses the pre-amp), or emulated output jack. The tubes tested good and even swapping them with other tubes changed nothing. The speaker was fine too. The internal board mounted fuses were not blown either. The only sound coming out of the amp was an occasional pop or crackle. He then did some googling around and saw talks about a socketed module inside the amp that is known to have issues. The firmware on the soldered EPROM can become corrupted and mess w channel switching functions. that was that exact issue bu the voltages on the pins of the module shown from a partial schematic did not match what he found inside my amp, so that led him to believe that was the issue. So he contacted Marshall , they referred him to a parts retailer from AZ where he can order a replacement module. He also conferred with other techies and they encouraged him to also replace the main board as well. So he ordered a logic board and a main PCB. Those took a while to arrive, but he got them, did his magic and finally, my amp was fixed. I bought the amp in 2020 off Reverb barely used for $620 and that was such a crazy deal. It worked beautifully for the first year I had it but then suddenly , the no output issue occurred. I didnt get it fixed till a year after that cuz I had no money. So with the cost of the repair which was another 600 cuz of the labor and parts, I pretty much spent the same as if I bought it new which sucked. but at least its fixed and the tech did a hell of a job. His @ on instagram is @culen if anyone is from Los Angeles.
First try rebiasing... Mine needs it done at least 1x per year. I swear it's because of switching from low to high power too often. Now I only play it in high and it seems to have helped. Had mine for almost 4 years now.
Did you check the Biasing on the Tubes. Mine was way off when I bought it new. It has Biasing Ports on the back of the Head to set the Bias and balance the Tubes.
I've got the Same Issue with an Fame VS5012 (Randall RG50TC), but only in the Clean Section...sent it to repair, tubes got switched to new ones...a few weeks - no problems...in my case it seems to be a problem with the Inputjack. When I put the Cable in and out and in and out, it goes away. :D
Just got mine in a few days ago, and still can't figure out why I can't get sound out of it. I might just have to start a return, because I shouldn't have to immediately shell out for repairs, after just paying $800 for the damned thing. I didn't expect it to be the greatest, but I was expecting to be able to at least get sound out of it.
Mine did the exact same thing. Just replaced the original power tubes with JJ Tubes and it fixed the problem.
did you just change the two 'EL34' ? i got the same issue with this noise
Solved ? @@foxhound8843
had mine for 4 years now still no issues so far.
Had a similar problem with my DSL 40C. Turned out to be a bad preamp tube (v1)

Mine is super quite with stock tubes. I've had to 2 years.
What was the issue? Mine sounds the same after 2 weeks
Grounding issue i think? Idk but from what ive heard these amps really easy to repair, so hopefully the fix wont be too much
mine did that now make No Noise. I just changed power tubes and nothing again. Anything else could be a problem? thank you.
I just bought a used DSL 40CR and have the same issue. I'll have the tubes checked out.

Yes there even seems to be a fragment of popping. Tube change. Most go with jjs

Mine is doing the same thing. Were you able to solve this issue? Thx.
Same problem. Replace the power tubes and reset the bias.

@@samuelcosta6090 i have returned it , and the new One is ok , (for now)
Why don't you reach out to Marshall versus posting it on UA-cam?
