Wow. I just heard the iconic down-and-dirty, aggressive, drugs-and-booze AC DC number, played as a joyful nursery rhyme!
😂
@@thestellarguitarist You might consider "If" by "Bread." It's fine even as an accompaniment..and with a voice, it's Stella.
@@andyharpist2938 I like Bread, was thinking of doing Guitar Man for a lesson - will take a look at 'If'. Thanks!
Hey , thanks for the video! Pretty cool.
Please tell me, what is that music at the beginning at 00:32. Its eerie and cool. Thanks!
Hi! The intro song I use is from the public domain, I don’t own the rights to the song and I only used a short snippet of it. Sorry I can’t be more helpful!
@@thestellarguitarist you did great, thanks. I'm going to try to find the name of it.
More acdc please. 😊
Noted! 🤘 🎵😎
I noticed you are playing a Mahogany Mini-E Taylor. I play a Rosewood Mini-E Taylor. I'm curious if you have had any work done to your Taylor? Have you had the strings lowered, shims adjusted, changed your strings, etc., to a different gauge? Or, are you playing a stock guitar? I'm curious as to what changes a good guitarist such as yourself might, or might not, make to your guitar.
Hi! Yes I am playing a mahogany Taylor 😃 currently, I am playing it just as I bought it. I am blown away by the sound and don’t want to tamper too much- I really am very impressed with Taylor guitars (I have two of them). But if I could change something, I think I’d like a slightly lower action, and maybe even slightly lighter gauge strings. I’m a classical guitar player so steel strings with high tension and high action bothers me more than it would a normal acoustic guitarist I’d say. But even so, I still love my Taylor 🧡
@@thestellarguitarist Thank you! I'd like to have a lower action on my Taylor. I bought my Taylor at one of the large music stores. The tech at the store didn't think much of the Taylor Mini's and stated, "it's about as good as it's going to get" when I asked if the action could be lowered. I love my Taylor Mini so I'm going to see if I can find a tech that can help make it a little better.

There are very few acoustic guitars out there that are Truly play ready without a basic set up being done when new. ..... especially under 2000 U.S.
Boucher ( Boo-shay ) guitars are an exception. Ready for the road as they say ......
Set up with lighter strings.....
I believe they use between 10 and 11 on the high E , so they are using lights , and many top techs have justified that you don't get "better" sound from 12 or 13's - 53 .
In my opinion for general playing the sound just gets a bit muddy with mediums anyway .
Bob Taylor's big selling point is the bolt on neck. Die hard Martin players might argue loss of intonation , but if you are spending less than 5000 then it should not be a main issue .
One of my guitars is a 2011 Martin OOO15M
( Solid Mohogany body ) .
For years I disliked Mohogany. Then one really warm day last fall when I was scheduled to take a holiday mid week I drove a few hours to buy this particular guitar really cheaply , even though it needed a full neck reset. I strummed it more and more at home. Even with the terrible strings on it and the ridiculously high action I still started to Really love solid Mohogany.
So , I am going to be doing most of the work on it hopefully . I'll be careful not to get over zealous with any of the disassembly steps.
Sorry for the long winded story. 😁
If you like lighter strings then go for it.
I have D'addario coated lights 11-52 on my guitar that I tore everywhere ..... I think they are going to quite literally outlast the life of the guitar. They are smooth and almost slippery to the first touch. A far cry from the O.E. razor strings that were on it from new .
Going to be putting String Joy Foxwood coated lights on my Martin when it is ready .
They are made by a very small company in Tennessee .
I don't think you would regret an Extra-light D'addario XS string set ....
( possibly 9 or 10's - 49 )
the D'addario XS are quite a bit more money by comparison , but I think they will ring well for a very long time. ..... and feel nice vs Elixir..... I have heard players say that Elixir do not last and corrode / darken fast
Sorry about the novel lol

9 times out of 10 a brand new guitar has a saddle that can come down quite a bit .
Don't necessarily go to your biggest music store , but try and find an outfit that has been in business for ages and has a brick and mortar location ... check that they have endless great reviews over the years.
I made the mistake of trusting a guitar to a fellow who taught guitar playing and did minor repairs.
He never fixed the action, made the nut worse. Plus he did not even know that my
X Series Martin had a bolt on neck.
I reluctantly went to the best place in our city that all experienced people had talked about. I had been avoiding going there because of cost.
Turns out the guys were amazing to communicate with , they knowledge beyond any general guitar tech, and they do antique and vintage restorations. I think that speaks volumes.
The tech I dealt with upon me arriving with my Martin showed me right then and there all kinds of tangible mechanical problems. I could literally see so many obvious issues with it now. I learned soooooo much since that time. Guitar played Literally Better than new.
So go find a great , knowledgable tech.
Don't worry .... there is Always something that can be done .... it just boils down to cost of repair to guitar valuation comparison.
Neck angle to the body , truss rod tension tweaking, saddle height , nut slots depth , and making sure all the frets ( feet wires ) are the same height are where they start for issues with string action as long as you don't have any structural issues in the body.... they need to check if the top is arched up behind the bridge, are braces coming loose, is the bridge lifting etc etc !
That sort of thing .
@@donbailey1934I have the exact guitar she is playing. I changed the strings to Elixer nano web 11s.
Sanded the saddle down and adjusted the truss rod. Plays like butter.
Have you done a Snuff by Corey Taylor tutorial yet?
No I haven’t! Got a long list of song requests, I’ll add Corey Taylor on there 😊
People don’t realise most rock songs are wrote and played in a lounge with an acoustic.
Absolutely true!
❤
I'm in love with you. ❤

Can you play through the song with the chords you're teaching...? This felt very disconnected ...
Hi! Sorry you felt that the teaching of the song was disconnected. The aim of the lesson was to teach you the main parts so that you can play along to the original track. I usually do a play through of the songs I teach. I tried a different approach in this one, will stick to play alongs going forward 😊
You are so beautiful.
Don't forget the blue note, don't teach people to play it wrong!
This is just my interpretation of the song to help a beginner on their way, did not mean any disrespect to the original 🎵
Maybe on another planet...but on Earth, no way ! 😂 Sounds like Britney Spears singing a song for children 😂 Sorry but it's just awful.... it's not about your playing but about the spirit of the song....all that makes this song unique (and AC/DC songs in general like power chords, silences, strong picking...) is dead....poor Malcolm, RIP 😂
Each to their own I suppose! 😄
I'm sure you are an accomplished guitarist but this video is terrible from an instructional POV. Sorry. You need to do things like play through the tune first or play a bit of the original track (or a decent cover; even a recording of yourself playing it - whatever...); then break down which bit you are focusing on; list out the chords for given section; play through them; repeat a couple of times - slowly first, then picking up the pace until target reached etc etc. Good luck.
My thoughts exactly 😂
Different approaches for each coach.
Personally I find that playing something for beginners in it's full firm can make a beginer feel overwhelmed ...... and during the coaching / lesson they can be overly focused on attaining the song in it's full form , instead of being focused on learning ..... step by step .
Amber .... keep up with your highly professional method ...... it works very well. All my friends who watch your tutorials are proof that your system works impeccably !
@@BobsYoureuncle greatly appreciate this message! 🙏 thank you for pointing out that there are many ways to teach, and some ways will resonate better than with others. I work mainly with helping beginners and so I agree with what you have said. Thanks again for the support and kind words 🌟☺️
