A very impressive sounding engine! Similar to the V20 version. A V24 could be compared to either a triple V8 or a double V12 with the crankshafts connected at the proper number of degrees for each crankpin at 30°s.
In typical GE fashion these engines are packed full of sensors and efficiency optimized to the n-th degree. They even developed special sparkplugs for them which cost 600 Euro each.
Why does it take so long to ramp up? Why does it increase power so slowly? Is it because of the turbos, that need a lot of time to speed up? Or is it something else?

Nice engine room too. PUD in Springfield, Oregon had 4, J620's. Pretty nice plant there too.
