John Meadows is an American professional bodybuilder and entrepreneur with an intriguing story. While John now boasts a successful career as an IFBB Pro bodybuilder and fitness company owner, his journey towards the top was extremely difficult.
Growing up, John never met his father, and his mother died at an extremely young age. This meant John only had his grandmother to take care of him. When his grandmother tragically passed away in 1999, John was left alone without his family to support him.
As the years went by, John continued to face new adversities in his life. During his early days in bodybuilding, John suffered from a rare colon disease. After fighting the disease for several months, his colon burst - almost resulting in his death. Luckily, John was quickly rushed to an emergency room where his life was saved. After several months of recovery, John was finally back on his feet.
Coming back into bodybuilding, John used the very obstacles that almost cost him his life as ‘fuel’ to grow stronger. Ever since he recovered from the colon surgery, John has gone on to become a successful bodybuilder, entrepreneur, and inspiration for many people all over the world.

I found your channel just a few weeks ago, and I have to say I really appreciate the good advice and workout tips on your videos. It's really a great resource you've made here. I love it!! Subscribed.
welcome!
Definitely going to try those rear delt swings. First time I ever saw something like that in 4 years of training. Goes to show how much new stuff your channel keeps 'swinging' at us John!
i read about a bench version as well, it probably was on his site now that i think about it
JOHN THE BEST IN UA-cam CONGRATULATIONS JOHN BRASILIAN PEOPLE LOVE YOUR WORK
11:38 making me nostalgic for battlefield 1942
Are you training here during the weekend of the Arnold?
prolly wont be up that way
Way back in the 90s the 90s wasnt that long ago
Her form on the incline, wasn’t the best
I started doing those rear delt swings 3 weeks ago. And damn they really burn your rear delts. Always finish my workout with these. You can enver get too much rear delt work in
A good old school upperbody work! Thanks John 💪
Thank you again, John Meadeos. You are so appreciated and so very missed!! ❤️🙏🙏❤️
If only i had two assistants when doing the incline db... i would never have to roll back ever again!!!
Title should read “Beauty and the Beast”
You know that shit burns when john always has to bow down and re-evaluate his life lol
LOL..truth!
With this great content you're really spoiling us!
hopefully people like it
Just did the chest part of this workout starting with the shoulder part,.... fuuuuuck
Fantastic T-Shirt John
thank you!
hi, i have tried rear delts exercise many times doing in same position you do ... but always i feel sore in my raps more than rear delts... so i tried this same exercise lying on incline bench it helped alot
John !! Keep the awesome workouts, you the best UA-cam channel for bodybuilding. Love your trainings, you inspire me every day and seen results with your works is really amazing. Thank you John!!!!
thank you
I always believed in taking the bar down to my chest maybe that's why my rotators are always inflamed
you may have been using weight you weren't strong enough to handle through a full ROM. Just something to consider.
I used to do touch and go bench all the time and would get shoulder pain in the past, however I have been doing paused bench for a while and my shoulders feel fantastic, I'm now stronger also.
strengthening every thing at the back helps too. Doing plenty of rows/pulls also will offset this issue.
I think this guy is great, ive taken a few of his routines to the gym and they are fantastic. Thanks from Scotland 💪
Edinburgh Castle is awesome
@@mountaindog1 John have you been to Edinburgh? Or as us Scots would say "huv ye been tae the castle?"
hell yea loved it!! AWESOME castle
@@mountaindog1 Glad you enjoyed it John, it's not bad haha, just want to say also how much I respect you and your training style, I love heavy lifting and low volume personally. I hold you in the highest regard along with Dorian Yates and Dave Pulombo as I've I've learned so much about high intensity.
AWWWwww she is just Adorable! What a lil Hottie!!
Ronda Rousey's twin, great video very valuable input
Hahaha wow a brunette rhonda
I need to try them press-ups with the hayfield bar on smith !! amazing exercise john
Thank you John! This is awesome 👍
I like Sarah
Sarah = 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks John! Thanks Sarah!
welcome
Never get tired of watching your videos John!! My favorite fitness/bodybuilding channel by far!
thank you
Awesome chest workout. Great job to her and john...😎💪
Good video and cool work :-)
I like!
Yannick, from FRANCE
I love all your videos and how you explain everything. Pleas Keep them coming John!! 🙌🙌👍
will do my best!
That second side lateral machine looks amazing
That side raise machine is legit if you go to hardcore gym they usually have them. All you get is side delt
yea I dig that one
Her press form need to be adjusted. Looks kinda spicy for the shoulders
love that T-shirt, almost as much as your content!!
Wooooo! Smoker! Want that delt machine. Good luck Sarah!
Jim McIntyre thank you!!!
That's a great push workout and a gym with iron dumbbells & plates is always a bonus.
Nice couple, I like your way of training John. 💪🏻👊🏻💪🏻
Hi John, thanks for the great content! I live in France and whenever you publish a new video, I get it when I wake up: best moment of the day before heading to the gym ;)
I literally started getting out of breath and feeling fatigue just watching those ladder pushups.
Wow, just did, and talked about the same thing with my client.
Hell yea! Sarah da Bruce!!
My god she is such a hottie!! Great video big man 👊
Anyone that gets a workout with you is lucky. Awesome video
yet another gimmick training style
Atlantis gym equipment is absolutely the finest!
Is there any major difference between the smith and regular barbell for chest work?
yes big difference in how stabilizers are trained
60 pd dumbells... Wow.. Nice
where is the shirt from JM?
Just in time for push day tomorrow!
Where can I get that shirt!
I do that rest pause like you do on the incline but in the fully stretch position with the bar tohching my chest for a few reps, absolute fire. Have you tried that? Im sure you have. Lol.
yes I love it!
Nice very nice 😉💪🏼
John I’m interested in what you did before your first set of incline dumbbell presses. The whole wArmup?
warmed up with like 25s, 45s, 65s, 85s...thats what I typically do
I do a similar warm up. But I’ve started to have shoulder issues. Getting old sucks
Also interested in what type of mobility work you do. At fifty I’m starting to have problems with tightness. I’ve started foam rolling and stretching but I really don’t see much improvement.
Jim Wirth do some work with bands and stretch every day if not at least 3x a week and do bands and a good 10 minute warmup before every workout
Thank you for the great videos, they are informative, motivating and absolutely beneficial. I wanted to take the opportunity and ask a related question: I caught a nasty virus that forced to take antibiotics. Under such circumstances, would you recommend to continue training, maybe moderately, or give the body complete rest for a week or so?
Thanks!
dont go hard, you dont want to push immune sytem even harder
@@mountaindog1 Thank you so much for your reply
Do you get more engagement for upper chest @30° or 45°? Any tips on correcting development of weaker side
Exactly what I need!
Love the t shirt
Make some videos with Evan centopani again, those are the best
yea I need to do that
On Smith inclines she keeps positioning her hands inside her elbows which shifts the load to her triceps reducing the point of the exercise.
Hey john just wondering if you guys are doing sort of Smith Machine Guillotine Bench Press. I am asking since the bar almost lands on the neck there.
not quite guillotine...a little lower
Having my shoulders at 90degrees like that kills my shoulders instead of chest
Thanks coach
You may have said it before. But what product do you rub on your arms before a workout?
Hey, what's the name of the intro song? Digging the music 👍
Can you include the bench angles (45, 90 degree etc)?
Rest in peace mountaindog you are appreciated for all you did 🙏 ❤
It looks like she was flaring out her left elbow on the Smith machine.
Belt while benching?
Does that help any?
just reminder for me to keep tight
Thanks:)
Muito top o vídeo
Esse moça ela é muito simpática
Any tips for a contantly sore right AC joint? Doesn't hurt benching but I feel it after. Usually reaching across the body like applying deoderant. I've rested it, iced it, warm up well but the damn thing is always there.
could be your form while pressing!
Good luck Sarah!!!
MARVIN FERGUSON JR thanks so much!!
Hey John nice workout as usual. Do you recommend elbow sleeves for the general lifter or only if you have elbow pain?
Iron Rebel
Perfect timing!
First
John only thing I noticed is no squeezing motions for chest. Is that tailored for Sarah ?
yes sir
@@mountaindog1 thanks man!
John did the reps with perfect form. She was locking out on her reps because it makes the set easier by taking constant tension off the chest, allowing her to rest and the triceps are doing the work instead of the chest.
John, how would you advise someone who can't do horizontal pressing (due to scoliosis causing one shoulder to be permanently rounded forward) to build a decent chest ? is it even possible ? overhead pressing (or any vertical press) isn't affected by this issue for some reason (or at least way less affected)
Ohp and flys.
have you tried anything that you really liked?
@@mountaindog1 Push ups feel ok but probably since it's like a light bench press. when done in high volume it kills my wrists though
you might want to try dumbell pullovers too chest style
John I can't seem to find your app in the android play store
it is listed under mountain dog diet
mountaindog1 thanks for replying unfortunately its not there all I'm seeing is actual dog training apps and other workout apps that aren't related to you.
I downloaded it yesterday on my android.
how you like it?
@@mountaindog1 Haven't looked at it yet, but you videos are inspiring and I'm just getting back into weightlifting. I will look at it today since I am going to be stuck at the airport for awhile today!
Sir what type of elbow pads are you using in this video?
Iron Rebel
That girls laugh in the beginning of the video
Didn’t match her voice
John was such a good dude. RIP
YOU HAVE THE BEST , INFORMATIVE VIDEOS..THANK YOU.
Another great basic workout
