Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes -- absolutely mesmerizing to watch. People come to Holmes for help. But Miss Marple appears to be an old busy body with logical reasoning. Both are wonderful characters, each in their own unique way.
Sherlock Holmes has a close competitor in Hercule Poirot. But using clues is a bit more important than using psychology in solving the crime according to me. To me Sherlock is the best closely followed by Poirot.
Hard call. They’re so different. Joan Hickson’s Miss Marple is brilliant using her understanding of human nature and Sherlock is brilliant using observation and deduction. Would depend on the type of crime.
Sherlock, as a character, is a great detective, but as a fictional character he isn't, his knowledge is almost always outside of what the reader is aware of. I much prefer a detective show when the viewer can follow the mystery along with the detective. The old Ellery Queen TV show was perhaps the best.
Geraldine McKewan was my favorite of the Miss Marples, especially in "At Bertram's Hotel." Loved that scene where she popped up from the floor (pretending to look for her yarn) and diverted two of the villains by crying "Balls!" She always had such a gleam in her eye.
I REALLY enjoyed Joan Hickson as Miss Marple & NO ONE does Poirot, whom I LOVE, like David Suchet!! But l think Holmes is a 'true' detective, although l recognize & respect Miss Marple's different qualities. And as far as Sherlock Holmes goes, Jeremy Brett was the ultimate epitome of Sherlock Holmes. I have read/own several Agatha Christie's, they are wonderful to have. But l think the real imagination & creativity came out of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in his other famous works as well. A la H.G.Wells & Jules Verne. But they are all wonderful in their own way & right! 👍🇨🇦☘️
Miss Marple often uses observation and logic. Holmes often intuits motivation based on emotional reasoning. This is just pot-stirring with hackneyed gender stereotypes.
Well done, three cheers. Somehow I think Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Junior did a combination of both Detectives. He too melded into society to watch and deduct from an intellectual distance.
Listen people why are you creating a fight here.. there's no need .. the both of them would probably give you a good telling off have you removed from the premises and have a nice lunch together and continue to both be both legends
Subconsciously Holmes uses psychometrics intuition aura reading?? )base level). Ms marple not involved in violence /spy game She is good for her time period 50’s to present along certain lines of inquiry 🧐. Marple has friends Holmes see folks as part of a moveable chess ♟ board. Quiet ; how would they both fare against kiser sosai
@Marcus Actually it was never an addiction for him (though some second-rate authors try to paint him that way otherwise). It was him experimenting on himself - quite the opposite in that he does it so that he is able to put himself in an altered state (of course modern medicine would advise against that regardless). Nevertheless, that is something to consider as the video did NOT take that into account when explaining Holmes's reasoning .. He obviously cares about his health seeing as he stresses the importance of exercise before breakfast. If you take those things into account, you will SEE how Holmes is at a higher level than Poirot and Miss Marple ..
Love both of them. They don't make mysteries like this any more.

Why do you have to compare them! They are different, let them Be different and lets enjoy it!I LOVE them both like they came !

Poirot sometimes seems to be obsessive compulsive, (Rearranging the mantlepiece in the affaire at styles for eg)

If only they could have teamed up. The case would have been solved by tea time.

Both are great tbh.
Miss Marple is giving me Columbo vibes with this style
I love detectives....and every detectives have its own method to solve problems, because they have different personalities.
I have a feeling this narrator is a Marple fan
Miss Marple!👍💖🌟😍

NO SHIT SHERLOCK
Is there a reason you only used clips of Geraldine McEwan and not of Julia McKenzie?
I'll choose Poirot over Holmes anytime.
Holmes is often portrayed as a drug addict, and a manic depressive.
As another Brit once said "Bah Humbug." I still prefer Sherlock Holmes, my first "love."
Of course it’s Sherlock
One word poirot
From an American, it's Miss Marple hands down!!! Sherlock talks too much and is smug.
Accept the reality
Sherlock Holmes is the real boss
She looks and sounds like my friend hahaha
Joan Hickson was the best Marple.
I never knew of Miss Marple.
What! How can that be?????
It Means I m right
That miss Marple is underrated
This is just a joke
This means that you are fool
You should watch or read agatha christie. If u seriously never knew miss marple
Don't agreed. Everyone could makes a video like this . You are fool to compare them.
You lost by not using Joan Hickson. Shame on you
Poirot is better
L is greatest
Baah! Sherlock Number 1!
Nero Wolf is better!
Shinichi kudo is the real boss
The American Poirot rip off.
Sherlock is a drug addict & highly overrated... Miss Marple, & Hercule Poirot are far superior detectives.
HOLMES WAS THE ORIGINAL AND SCOTLAND YARD USE METHODS FROM READING THE BOOK!

Qualcuno può farmi capire cosa dicono 😭😭
They are comparing two most famous fictional detective
1)Sherlock Holmes
2) miss marple.
feminists out to besmirch another male icon
What!!!???
Hardly. Almost all skill she has is eavesdropping.
Have you even read the novels?
