It blew my mind the first time I saw one of these scenes and realized that, for all the power they unleashed, those red beams were just their _targeting_ lasers.
same! i probably shouldve figured it out, considering how the guardians have a similar attack (red targeting beam, light blue actual beam. hell, the divine beasts also make the guardian targeting sound in the cutscene) but holy shit, i was totally freaking out when the cutscenes played and they shot the actual attack. it was like "HOLY SHIT THERES MORE???" and also "HOLY SHIT THATS HALF OF ITS HEALTH HELL YEAH"
I always kinda wondered that as well. I imagine Vah Medoh would be the worst. It looks like, at first, that it's coming in for an attack run. Considering they mention in the game that they're a bit concerned about that I imagine they must have been freaking out. I also think that they should have added a tiny detail of the Zora running around their domain or at least out and looking at Vah Ruta from the domain would have been a good touch.
She is a bit off on her history though, because those of us who played Ocarina of Time know that the Gerudos were, in fact, a gang of thieves led by 2 evil witches who gave birth to a male patriarch every 100 years.
I like how you can tell how genuinely pissed Mipha is to be dead. Ruta crashes and roars about as she pilots it to the top of the mountain, while the other Champions just kinda move casually and gracefully. Guess being separated from her father, Sidon, and Link really fired up her desire for revenge.
Actually I kind of agree. Medoh, Rudania and Naboris just seem to move so gallantly. Ruta, on the other hand, really seems to be looking forward to a good fight.
well maybe the heavy crash is just because of Ruta being an elephant themed titan and you could probably assume that an elephant will be heavier than a camel, lizard or bird, but who knows
I love how the Divine Beasts are named after iconic Sages. Nabooru, Medli, Ruto, and Darunia. I wasn’t certain of this until getting Naboris’ cutscene.
Man, Daruk's scene really gets me. He's pretty much the only one who found proof that his people will live on strong. And that exchange with Yunobo is just that tidbit of happiness that can make a grown man cry.
Ruta does too, seeing as Zoro’s Domain is visibly intact along with the people below on the pathways. Revali probably is in a similar case, given he’s perched right above the city.
Me, finishing Rudania and seeing them move into position: Hmm! I wonder how they will shoot their laser. From their nose? Tail? **opens up face and shoots the laser** OH OKAY
so this is how it goes Ruta's threat: the Zoras are afraid about the heavy rainfall it's causing that could Bury the domain in water Medoh's threat: Medoh will automatically shoot anything that flys and horrible injure them so they can't fly around Rudania's threat: He is preventing the gorons from obtaining good materials from death mountain and might destroy the goron race with its rockfalls Naboris' threat: it might swallow up gerudo town in sandstorm and lightning and preventing people from traversing around the desert
Ruta could drown all the Hylian settlements south of the Zora's domain once the reservoir breaks. Medoh threatens everything for miles - it's only targeting fliers now, but at any moment it could rain death on the whole Tabantha area. Rudania could cause Death Mountain to outright erupt, burying the Goron town in lava, which even the Gorons couldn't survive. Naboris could trap the Gerudo in their city, cutting off any and all trade with sandstorm and lightning, and starve them out. Each Divine Beast is an existential threat to an area of Hyrule.
It’s a good thing Calamity Ganon didn’t know about the Divine Beasts’ “secret” lasers; otherwise their respective regions would’ve already been completely decimated.
Well he couldn't have, remember Zelda was keeping him sealed in the castle so his influence stayed there. He couldn't have destroyed any of their regions
Revali is genuinely awed at Link's ability to conquer Vah Medoh, then realizes that he is praising Link and proceeds to attribute it to his luck. Haha we know how you really feel Revali.
I love the little head nod that Vah Medoh makes when he starts targeting Ganon. It shows how confident Revali is in taking Ganon down. Also I love the moment where Vah Rudania looks at the camera, trying to show off. I love the personalities that the Champions have. I must say the whole sad story about Mipha brings tears to my eyes. I feel so bad and I feel that she’s underrated.
The order of divine beasts I freed: Ruta, Naboris, Medoh, Rudania The hardest divine beast for me to free: Naboris My favorite cutscene: Rudania (I just love how Daruk and Yunobo see each other!!)
CandleKate I did Ruta first, then Rudania, and then Medoh. Right now I am actually trying to do Naboris but is super hard to figure out!!! The hardest one I did so far was definitely Rudania!
Rudania's cutscene broke me. That's not to say the others weren't saddening, but seeing Yunobo getting a sort of resolution with his (more then likely) Grandfather got to me. I never knew my dad, least of all my Grandad, so seeing him get that closure I never got to, made me cry
I think Urbosa is my favourite out of the champions because she's so badass, but Mipha had the saddest back story. I always cry when her scene with the divine beast comes on T_T
As angry as Yunobo made me during the Attack on Rudania, it always make me teary eyed to see him see Daruk. I wish Mipha got to see Sidon one last time

Just came back to this video for Mipha/Ruta's cutscene alone. One of my favorites in the game, and probably the one that evokes the most emotional response from me. From that distance, you could possibly even see individual Zora's moving across Zora's domain, yet knowing you'll be able to do nothing more than watch them is sheer torment. Urbosa’s line still remains my favorite tbh. “It was written that Calamity Ganon once adopted the form of a Gerudo. And that....will make this victory all the more satisfying. I like that. Now I can take this personally.”
I absolutely love the divine beasts. Such an original idea. These giant mechanical beasts that you can ENTER as dungeons while they move around in the real world. And you can control them to an extent. Then these giant towering buildings MOVE across the world and stand in position ready to attack Ganon. Love it love it. I was so surprised when I did by first one (Ruta). And the music is so majestic.
Or ruta can bypass water and structures like a ghost if you look in rita's cutscene the river was too narrow for ruta so it probably can bypass anything underwater like a ghost
Medoh: shoots laser off of the tip of his beak Ruta: joins her tusks together and shoots Naboris: points his ears together and shoots Rudanina: *SPLITS HER FACE OPEN*
When Ever I defeated one of the divine beast I would sob the whole time because I loved all of them and it was so much fun to see the owners of them one last time.
Really upset these didn’t still show in TotK in the landscapes. They became such critical landmarks for making my way around Hyrule in BotW. Rito Village without Vah Medoh just doesn’t feel the same.

Train guy69 reviews Yeah, the reservoir makes sense but there's no way it passed through the river. Although it maybe walked across the ground offscreen and climbed the mountain
Revali: I will admit, despite my comments, Link is surprisingly... Lucky. And that's about all he has going for him. Urbosa: Ah, revenge, revenge. Mipha: I get to finally help Link! And everyone else! Definitely not just him haha. Daruk: That oughta do it!
Thousand of years ago in this world, we where still figuring out how to hold a stick, but thousands of years ago in the Zelda world, They Made Fricken Devine Beasts And Guardians.. *well thats extraordinary*
JohBau TM It is said that Calamity Ganon's final boss form is him being incomplete. This is due to him trying to steal Princess Zelda's Tri-Force Power & gaining his physical form (Ganondorf) back.
I agree in part with JohBau TM. At least, it is very apparent that without Ganondorf as we are used to seeing him, especially in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, the story element surrounding this supposed "great evil" feels completely absent. Maybe if at the very least he was challenging, but that final form he just pivots 90 degrees and fires a laser. There is no connection or urgency at all to it. But in WW and TP, you really feel through the dialogue and cutscenes who Ganon is and it feels climactic. In BotW, the Divine Beast cutscene firing on Ganon is awesome, but after that it's just a lifeless fight. Even if it's because "he's given up on reincarnation". Ganondorf has much more character to him than that, again, even if since the dawn of Zelda, Ganon has always been a speechless pig.
I have a feeling that Teba, Yunobo, Sidon and Riju are going to be the new champions now that their predecessors have fulfilled their duties and departed from this world.
Pretty much all the champions reactions summarized: Mipha: I was able to help Link. I wish to see my family again though...Hope they're okay. Revali: I've been patient. Anyways guess I was wrong for being mean to Link though. Daruk: There we go. Hmm the view looks nice, I wonder how the Gorons are doing especially after the Calamity. Urbosa: HE KILLED ME A 100 YEARS AGO AND HE WAS A GERUDO? NOW IT IS PERSONAL.
Is it just me who would love to see Lego models of the divine beasts? I mean they’re already super cool visually, so imagine being able to construct and look inside models of them.
6:29 it make feel happy that Daruk sees his descendant knowing what everyone is ok But it makes me cry that Yunobo waves to The Goron champion and what he’s the ONLY one who could (at least) see him for the first and last time. Why? 'Cause even when Urbosa and Mipha who have direct familiars they can’t see them for a last time say their goodbyes
I remember the first time I saw Naboris. I was paragliding from a high place and saw a humongous dust cloud. I was absolutely terrified (but ofc I still went in and got rekt by the lightning)
Vah Medoh was my favorite. I've always loved the Rito since Wind Waker and was incredibly happy that they brought them back to BOTW and Revali's character was the best
I admit, watching Daruk’s and Mipha’s scenes, I like to imagine that offscreen, Mipha’s father and brother see Van Ruta in position and they and Mipha’s spirit see each other one last time..
Ruta's is my favorite of all of them, mainly because the moment it emerges from the water is extremely well presented on audio cues. It leans upward and makes it's loud cry at just the right cue of the music, where the music really gives a feeling of "Check out this epic thing!", and stomps down at just the right audio cue as well, which really makes it's cry sound so much more intimidating. I love it so much. As a video editor, I can appreciate extremely good timing on cues such as this. Not to mention the build up to that cry as you watch it emerge from the water, as the rumbling gets louder and louder, eventually leading up to that beautifully executed cry of a divine beast and stomps back down. Amazing! A lot of work and effort went into this game in general, but even just these 15 seconds that I am analyzing, I can tell they carefully thought out the presentation of those 15 seconds to make this divine beasts moment truly incredible. Massive respect to these developers, they created an outstanding gaming experience.
It blew my mind the first time I saw one of these scenes and realized that, for all the power they unleashed, those red beams were just their _targeting_ lasers.

I was so surprised when I did by first one (Ruta). And the music is so majestic.
You can tell that all the divine beast are pissed asf
I love it when Urbosa remembers Nabooru. It brings back loads of nostalgia!
HOW THE HELL DID RUTA GET THERE?! THE POOL OF WATER IS SOO SMALL AND SHALLOW WTF!
Ruta: *Started from the bottom now where here*
Starlight Galaxy ruta dug through the ground and broke through a dam... Ruta is a savage
Or ruta can bypass water and structures like a ghost if you look in rita's cutscene the river was too narrow for ruta so it probably can bypass anything underwater like a ghost
She’s piloted by a Zora.
Maybe it’s like a sea cucumber. Can turn its body into liquid, or maybe it can just transport itself through water like a portal.
Rudaina:
*opens face to shoot a laser*
Me: o h o k.
uhhhh gives shivers every time. the cinematics and theme of hopefulness. The feeling of, "we're taking all this back!"
I always get goosebumps when the divine beasts start to get into their positions and let out the laser towards hyrule castle
Medoh: shoots laser off of the tip of his beak
Ruta: joins her tusks together and shoots
Naboris: points his ears together and shoots
Rudanina: *SPLITS HER FACE OPEN*
Vah Naboris is actually so intimidating when it walks
You should see it run!😬🫨
0:00 - Vah Medoh and Revali
2:00 - Vah Naboris and Urbosa
4:33 - Vah Rudania and Daruk
6:47 - Vah Ruta and Mipha
Mipha is so freaking adorable! I love her!
Yeah she is! I like Mipha, she is my favorite champion besides Urbosa
@@rlbonnell She loved her some Link!
When Ever I defeated one of the divine beast I would sob the whole time because I loved all of them and it was so much fun to see the owners of them one last time.
The moment that Divine Beasts shoot the laser are some of the most Epic moments I have ever seen in a game
God I love Naboris so much. Something about that rhythmic whirring, the creaky mechanics...
Really upset these didn’t still show in TotK in the landscapes. They became such critical landmarks for making my way around Hyrule in BotW. Rito Village without Vah Medoh just doesn’t feel the same.
Think it was for the best as nobody wanted a repeat of the Great Calamity.
@@luisalvarado754but it wouldn’t have hurt to leave some broken down guardians and shrines lying around. It feels as though it is a different series of game, when it’s supposed to be a sequel
@@brycerodriguez244 Apparently all the Sheikah technology vanished "mysteriously" after Calamity Ganon's defeat. At least that's what the official news say but I feel like it was a backhand way of saying "old stuff is gone forever so stfu and enjoy the new stuff 😊".
7:34 How the heck Ruta passed through there?!
Andres E. Gomez M. The water goes under the dam
Train guy69 reviews That river looks really narrow and not so deep
Andres E. Gomez M. I dunno ruta probably used one of it's abilities
Train guy69 reviews Yeah, the reservoir makes sense but there's no way it passed through the river. Although it maybe walked across the ground offscreen and climbed the mountain
Underground tunnels for Ruta to pass like a submarine
Vah ruta: the most cinematic one
Vah medoh:the most interesting design
Vah naboris:the most surprising one
Vag rudania: the most intimidating one
I like how the champions talk to the machinery like living animals
Revali: I will admit, despite my comments, Link is surprisingly... Lucky. And that's about all he has going for him.
Urbosa: Ah, revenge, revenge.
Mipha: I get to finally help Link! And everyone else! Definitely not just him haha.
Daruk: That oughta do it!
Thousand of years ago in this world, we where still figuring out how to hold a stick, but thousands of years ago in the Zelda world, They Made Fricken Devine Beasts And Guardians.. *well thats extraordinary*
Yuriko White and thats why its a joke
0:01 Vah Medoh
1:59 Vah Naboris
4:33 Vah Rudania
6:47 Vah Ruta
Everyone says Mipha’s arc is the saddest, but honestly, just the scene of Yunobo exclaiming in glee at the sight of Daruk pulls at the heart more.
still think they should've made some kind of a Divine Beast Megazord out of all of them... the final battle would've been really fun...
*GO GO HYRULE RANGERS!*
No, because that would be ridiculous. Remember, this is Zelda, not Power Rangers! Also, that didn't even happen 10,000 years ago.
JoBau TM What? You mean his purple cloud form and not his spider-like form? Although I would like to see Ganondorf in a future DLC quest.
6:18 - 6:46 I go in tears alittle😢
In my opinion, Naboris has the best sound design of the Divine Beasts, its roar to the low pitched humming of its legs moving
Honestly it made me feel nervous ( ; _ ; )
I have a feeling that Teba, Yunobo, Sidon and Riju are going to be the new champions now that their predecessors have fulfilled their duties and departed from this world.
The divine beasts after they turn good again: H U H .
Pretty much all the champions reactions summarized:
Mipha: I was able to help Link.
I like how Daruk's descident is just looking at the Divine beast like nothing bad is happening
Before the Devine beasts blasts Ganon I notice that divine beast Vah Medoh & Naboris don’t scream but Vah Ruta & Rudania do
Is it just me who would love to see Lego models of the divine beasts? I mean they’re already super cool visually, so imagine being able to construct and look inside models of them.
That Doodler I would love that! LEGO builder, unite!
Only cuz then we would get botw minifigures
Coleseph 20 okay, you got me! I would especially love to see Urbosa’s minifigure!
Imagine if you can design your own Divine beast in real life!
6:29 it make feel happy that Daruk sees his descendant knowing what everyone is ok
But it makes me cry that Yunobo waves to The Goron champion and what he’s the ONLY one who could (at least) see him for the first and last time.
Why? 'Cause even when Urbosa and Mipha who have direct familiars they can’t see them for a last time say their goodbyes
i just want a model kits out of em that would literally be the meaning of "shut up and take my money"
Six years later and the scene between Daruk and Yunobo still got me emotional.
Revali is probably my favorite one i like his sasiness xD
The music that plays as they take up position is my favorite
'Is going to be so delicous' me: omg WHY ARE ALL THE CHARACTERS IN ZELDA SO THIRSTY FOR LINK?
Thirsty for....revenge. 🐫🐘🦅🦎vs🐗
no, 🐫🐘🐊🐔vs🐗
She's talking about attacking Calamity Ganon, whose form as Ganondorf gave the Gerudo a rather bad reputation.
Robert Jindra gerudo never needed an evil person to point out how shrahk there race is. If anything- Ganondorf was the only cool one of the lot
she ment that the moment they defeat ganon is gonna be so enjoyable
I remember the first time I saw Naboris. I was paragliding from a high place and saw a humongous dust cloud. I was absolutely terrified (but ofc I still went in and got rekt by the lightning)
Vah Medoh was my favorite. I've always loved the Rito since Wind Waker and was incredibly happy that they brought them back to BOTW and Revali's character was the best
Just imagine the 4 races seeing this, and at first being like oh shit, and then they see the beasts aim at the castle
