Condor is good to go; anyone who says otherwise has not actually owned it and they just want to justify the money they spent on something else. The Viet Cong had no problem using cheap canvas Chinese chest rigs to carry their AK mags. I prefer their chest rigs with no pouches so I can customize. I usually add milsurp pouches. Hoss with awesome sauce. I picked up a current "tap" rig and its condor twin. I love both of their versatility when changing pouches. The one issue is the radio pouches for bao- Feng staying closed.
I found mine at a thrift store for about $20 in coyote. It doesn't fit well at all; I'm 5'7" without boots. The thing rides way too low, doesn't suck up to my chest, and the shoulder straps are too far apart for my smaller frame. I spray and sponge painted it a cross b/w Multicam and ATACS FG so at least it looks cool now. I also added a back mesh off the old DoD M-16/grenade vest to help tighten the fit, but it's still not fitting well. Anyone want to make an offer?
The taps set up is pretty good, just don’t buy the spiritus taps upgrade kit, it’s over priced and you can source everything in the kit for a solid $100 less then their price, I’m currently looking at the same system, hope it helps.
Condor used to be good, now it's hit or miss. Big names like Condor and Blackhawk really went down hill. But Condor is a good buy in to know your needs before you buy something better.
Normally, if I wear anything on my chest with my Smersh, I'll wear a micro rig or a HPG chest bag... I think this will be too much in that setup. The Smersh excels on its own and with a backpack on for extending sustainment duration when needed.

I’d rather have condor than to have nothing and having magazines and other equipment in my pockets and all over the place. Organization and simplicity will go a long way even if it’s on the cheap!
If you intend to use the knife for self defense don`t put it there. A lot of ways i can hurt you while you try to get it from there. Put it somewhere where you can get to with both hands. With a sheeth like this you could probably put velcro on the sheeth and put it in the inside of the chest rig or in one of the tunnels. For the blade itself. Have you thought about how you want to use it? Would be good to test it on a dead pig. For a few suggestions take a look at Ed Calderon aka Eds Manifesto and Craig Couglas aka southnarc aka shivworks. While we are at people Cecil Burch, Darryl Bolke, Corsair Trainiers and others are also worth to look at.
Chest rigs are crap...hit the dirt with it on and you will regret it... They were designed for troops that travel slot in vehicles... Best rigs are a Russian SSO Smersh or good old LBE rig....
Brother, you are way over complicating stuff... This is a civilian SHTF type setup... No range cards, rain markers...you ain't calling in arty...just avoiding fights, but prepared if one happens... Wear a small camel back type bladder and use that pouch for better stuff... Deconstruct two MRE'S and ranger band the primary components of each one...put those in your "canteen" pouch... Get an old military surplus cartridge belt and wear your knife on that...easy peasy...can also use a pistol mag ouch for a small flashlight... Great vid...

What's that knife model? It's Awesome!
Thanks... Here is the link to it...

Hoss with awesome sauce. I picked up a current "tap" rig and its condor twin. I love both of their versatility when changing pouches. The one issue is the radio pouches for bao- Feng staying closed.
Really liking the color! Which color did you use?
How’s the Velcro for the dangeler holding up? I’ve been looking at the Arktis m170 and my only gripe is I can’t run my tear off ifak.
Velcro has been holding up great. No issues
Great setup! What iş the brand and model name of the knife on your side?
Thanks! Here is a link to that knife: www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y7YTN6H/?tag=bcusa-20
Can you do a basic and budget usgi molle ii assault pack and flc setup please
I don't own either of those but did recently get an enhanced LBV88 that there will be a review on soon.
Nice mods. That price is hard to beat; especially if it’s durable
Thanks! Seems solid so far.
cand you just fit a canteen without modding it? by just adjusting the clip??
I tried and it didn't work. A bit of a longer strap on the clip and I'm sure it would work.
I don’t understand what the radio is for
Does anyone know if it will fit AK mags
Well, I ordered one… lol
I dig it and love your mods. Did you do the sewing by hand?
LOL... Thanks man! Yes I did my sewing by hand.
You still looking to get rid of it?
@ the modern minuteman. What type of knife is that on your left hand side?
It's made by Holy Edge. www.amazon.com/HOLYEDGE-Survival-Wilderness-Tactical-Essential/dp/B08Y7YTN6H?ref_=ast_sto_dp
@@themodernminuteman2557 thank you. By the way I love your chest rig setup. Keep it up.
@@joshuareyes6217 thanks man! Appreciate it!
Do you have any videos on the condor chest rig that is similar to the military tap rig?
No I don't have anything like the TAP rig. Done stuff with a Rhodie reproduction chest rig, chicom rigs, and micro rigs like the Krydex MKIII/IV Rigs.
Yeah, but how does it fit over/under a SMERSH?
That was my question.....lol
I have yet to try it with my Smersh... But I will update when I do.
@@themodernminuteman2557 thanks, I was planning on using my SMERSH with a chest rig and have been wondering what I could use with it.
Normally, if I wear anything on my chest with my Smersh, I'll wear a micro rig or a HPG chest bag... I think this will be too much in that setup. The Smersh excels on its own and with a backpack on for extending sustainment duration when needed.
@@themodernminuteman2557 yeah, I was thinking about a Haley Strategic D3CRX. I may be able to get away with it because I'm a bigger guy. I was also looking into getting some cheaper rigs like the one in your video.
How did you secure the knife sheath to the side?
Zip ties and gutted paracord
@@themodernminuteman2557 Thanks. I was thinking of sewing them on. Thanks for the speedy response.
@dirtyscoundrel2013 sure thing!
You might consider swapping the hard canteen for the soft flexible. Going prone on that hard bottle could easily break some ribs. At worst, push those broken ribs into your lung or liver.
After a little time, do you still like and use it? And will it fit H&K G3 magazines in the pockets
Yes, I do still like it and use it! As far as G3 mags working, I don't have any to test but I would imagine they would.
How buy it please.
Here ya go...

I got something similar from helikon tex.
The rigs from Helikon Tex get good feedback from folks!
@@themodernminuteman2557 I like this channel most people think having gear is a fashion contest.
Holy crap. I didn't know you were stockpiling ammunition on your chest. I thought it was drink pouches and energy bar pouches and you know that kind of stuff.
Who in the world would need that kind of firepower for goodness sake?
And where's your gun that holds those magazines?
Do ak mags fit in the pouches?
AK mags do fit. The are a bit tall but you can get 2 AK74 mags in each mag pouch.
Will .308 mags fit?
What did you use to paint the rig?
I used the Rustoleum Camo spray paints and a piece of mesh
What jacket are you wearing?
It's an LL Bean Mountain Anorak that I rattlecanned and added pockets too!
No gun oil?
How big can this rig go or comes in?
There is a lot of adjustment to it...
What is the JACKET/SMOCK?!?!?!?
LL Bean Mountain Anorak that I added arm pockets to and painted Ranger green.
@@themodernminuteman2557
I’ve got higher end kit, but as of the past year wanted to build something
Cheaper to just toss in the truck.
Your smock and chestrig just made my list!
@@themodernminuteman2557
so yeah I'm loving this. I'd love to copy this load as much as possible. Do you recall where you got the arm pockets from???
@@Herbymac0811 I took the arm pockets off an old combat shirt.
What's wrong with Condor?
Nothing at all... It gets shit on by folks who maybe experienced it 10 to 15 years ago as "airsoft crap" but in reality Condor stuff (along with several other airsoft companies) are putting out seriously solid kit today. I like it!
All my chest rigs are condor only one that fits my big ass
If it works it works!!! I've never had issues with Condor products, they're well made and very nice cost bracket.
@@DJTheMetalheadMercenary yeah I started with the cheapest one which is the recon that has the fix pouches but they stick too far out so then I bought another one that was more tucked in didn't stick out quite as much but I didn't like it so now I just bought a blank Condor chest rig and added my own pouches to it love it and it fits perfect..
@@twinarrowssurvival.2.065 Trial and error heheh, glad you found something that works for you bro!!
I’d rather have condor than to have nothing and having magazines and other equipment in my pockets and all over the place. Organization and simplicity will go a long way even if it’s on the cheap!
nothing wrong w/ condor
Condor recon rig is better,
Anyone use try this with AK47 mags
Chest rigs are crap...hit the dirt with it on and you will regret it... They were designed for troops that travel slot in vehicles... Best rigs are a Russian SSO Smersh or good old LBE rig....
The Smersh is my go to setup! About as good as it gets!
I've been looking for a heavier rig over my mayflower so I can stick my binos in so im gonna get this, is it holding up? Also what colors did you paint it, it looks great.
Yeah I have been very happy with it. No issues. For painting it I used a little rustoleum forest green and tan.
