We are Linnea and Akela. In May, 2020 I purchased our 2016 Ram ProMaster, Togo, to become our full-time home. With this van build, I am using my stubbornness and drive to show individuals that they, too, can convert a campervan BY THEMSELVES and ON A BUDGET, with a lot of learning, rolling up the sleeves, and getting to work.
Our goal is to inspire individuals to chase their dreams... to break from societal limitations and live the life they truly desire. And, to GET OUTSIDE!

Linnea, you should be doing TV commercials for Carhartt and Minwax...Ha. So very happy for you. You are an inspiration to many. Thank for for doing so much and sharing this journey with us. I know these videos don't film and edit themselves and you do such a good job.
Love and hate that you’re done. Please continue keeping us updated on your journey.
Thank you linnea and akila care full enjoy your video im 70yrs old i watch every night god bless
By the way I would recommend putting the fire extinguisher right next to the main door don’t have it like in the middle of the van so that way you don’t have to run in to the fire to get it
This is so inspirational I’m 15 and I already have plans to have a truck bed conversation to truck life 😂
Is a home ever really done? It's a work in progress. I'm in the planning stage my Ram. It looks great😁
I loved being on this journey!!!
Not me literally crying watching this 😭 i remember when i first saw one of your tik toks about the build, and immediately binged all the videos that were out at the time. at that point i think you have just gotten in your floors, crazy how far the build has come. i can’t wait to see Akela and your adventures in the coming months 🤍
Please put your carbon monoxide detector near the floor. Carbon monoxide is heavier than air and the detector might not alarm in time if placed up high. I’m retiring in a year and will be converting a Ram too. I’m so excited. Your videos have been the most informative and fun of all the ones I’ve watched. Thanks you for your humanity, humor and generous nature. With any luck I’ll be joining you on the road in a couple of years. Be good, take care and keep sharing.
Your enthusiasm is contagious. Thanks for taking us with you.
the magazine holder and the cork are genius! I'm totally adding those
also I've got lyme disease, burn all the ticks in the world
Your van build series is incredible. Thanks for slowing down and taking the time to create it for us.
Major congrats on all that you have accomplished! You may want to change the location of your CO detector. Carbon Monoxide is heavier than air so you should put it lower to the ground like on the roof of a cabinet.
I am glad someone said this
My Girlfriend and I (and our dog, June Bug!) are in Wisconsin and have our 136" Ram Promaster on order. Can't wait to get it and start our build! Your videos have been a big help in planning and pre-ordering some of the big, key items... windows, roof vent, fridge, etc., so we can get rolling when it gets here! She really enjoys your videos and your genuine personality! Can't wait for the full tour video!
Congratulations!!!
I’m glad you finished I’m happy I followed you through this journey
Congratulations....but i cant help but feel a bit sad that this is it 😔 iv watched you from the very start. Iv looked forward to every video you have posted & enjoys every bit of progress you have done. Seriously, you have done an outstanding job on your home/van & its been a pleasure watching every hurdle & achievement.....well done you 👏 👍 😀 also seeing Akela is a big highlight, i just love her tons 😍.....cant wait for the van tour xx
I love the joy when hanging the coffee mugs:) it’s the little things🥰
love love love your new slidey counter! looks like a zebra-- not a giraffe!! hahahaha!! I am planning a long thin shelf over my bed, too! and the little shelves are great! You have done such a nice job! Good Girl!!
Well done, it looks amazing, you should be so proud. Your my biggest inspiration and have inspired me to build out a van and go travel the world, but I’m only 15 so it will have to wait a little 😂 But who says I can’t dream and plan my future. Thank you and well done again ❤️❤️❤️
You're so fearless! Love your confidence in building anything and I know in came with a price, but that's essential part of your journey. Well done! Greetings from uk xx
hahah I've been watching your channel like Netflix lol. You are such an inspiration. My parents are terrified because I'm a solo traveler but I love showing them people like you and showing them that its so possible to live the dream and do so safely. Cheers!
I am so happy for you i have learned a lot me and my mom have loved watching you and you make things easier for me and everyone else.❤
you've inspired me to build out my own van instead of having it professionally built. I love watching your videos. Cheers to your future adventures!!
I'm already looking forward to your (our) next adventure.
I am about to begin my Ford E350 conversion. Hope to take a National Parks Road Trips when she's done. I binged on Linnea & Akela! Lots and lots of great information, lots of inspiration and (hope this doesn't sound creepy) feel like I made a kindred-spirit friend. Linnea, ... wishing you all the best on your journeys!
Love your build. You did a wonderful job But I’m almost positive smoke detector is high on wall/ceiling and CO detector goes near the floor because CO is heavy and hangs out near the floor.
Please add some foam strips to the iron coffee hooks or you will have fewer coffee cups. My folks did the same thing in their rv and forgot to take the down when traveling one time and when they remembered they had fewer coffee cups.
Congratulations!! Nice video!!
Im still watching it... but i wanted to post a response anyway I always find your videos very entertaining and relaxing :)
Wow!!!! You did an amazing job....Congratulations! Wishing you many safe and happy miles! Bless you!
You're such a joy to watch. Genuinely. 💕 Can't wait for the tour!
My dad and mom created a ‘themz’ room in the triple garage of our home, it was just for them, not one of the 9 subs were EVER invited in. Sucked BUT we had our own space as well and we were very happy as well. Anyhow, they were forever improving or changing items and furniture. Always loved the new projects, then months later decided it didn’t work for them. Bright side? WE were never asked to help!!! LOL.
hard to believe the build is done. Have to say ive really enjoyed watching the build but really look forward to the many journeys you will have with it.
Linnea, I've watched all of your van build videos. They are fantastic!! I am building a teardrop camper, and you really helped me out with the wiring video you have. I'm about 80% done, but I live in upstate NY and the weather is changing already, so I'll have to postpone more of my build until spring. Best of luck to you in all you do!
Thank you again for all your sharing! I know it's not easy filming while building for the first time, that's why I haven't filmed any of my build yet! lol
Hey Linnea & Akela!!! Nice improvements on the van. It's been said that the vans are constantly a work in progress as realizations come about along the way. Continue to be SAFE out there and Thank you for sharing. 😎
Love your videos
Congratulations on finishing your build!!
Yes, popcorn is serious business. You have to try using bacon grease instead of oil. It's something my grandma used to do and my wife and I love it!!
Hey Linnea, great job. Not sure but it seems as if you put your CO detector on the ceiling. You gotta put that near the floor because CO is heavier than air!
Thanks so much!! Yes, I have moved it father down. I appreciate the tip!
Haha i love your "Midwestern Goodbyes"
Love the additions you’ve made!
I've heard that a van build is never over. There's always something else. Congrats!
I vote for a school bus build! short bus or long, it would be awesome!!
One of my subscribers mentioned your videos have helped them with their build and I hadn't seen your channel before. I've enjoyed watching a handful of your videos and look forward to following your adventures. Great job on your van and putting your build content out there! There aren't a ton of us doing it and it is so helpful for the van community! Cheers!
Congratulations 😊 I have really enjoyed your build...even all the hiccups along the way. You have given me many ideas including what not to to....lol... Can't wait for the final tour and watching your continuing journey 🚐🐕
Just bought my van!
Starting work on it this upcoming weekend.
Watched every one of your vids and can honestly say you've made some of the most informed decisions on your van build compared to all the other youtubers I've watched (even though the whole 'wiring your lights in series' thing made me cringe)
All and all, thank you for all the knowledge you've shared on your journey- excited to start my own :)
Oh my… I just finished watching all of your van build videos, and I love them all! And you seem SO amazing 🤩 I hope I some day can be as bold as you and just do it! Thank you for sharing 🙌🏻
Thank you Kristine, this is so sweet!
Now to practice relaxing!😎😎
I’m so glad you got a carbon dioxide detector
And... taking a class or two from you would be so amazing... you are a great teacher... im sure there are a lot of us struggling out here on our own... that would love to book your classes!
You have done a beautiful job! I am a little sad because I’ve loved watching your videos on your build. But it’s a great thing for you to be finished. Looking forward to seeing where life takes you and Akela.
Hi yes that means van tour soon yay can not wait love your videos
Thank you for sharing this journey! It has been inspirational and educational. I can’t wait to see what you have in store next! Please give the pup a huge hug!

You're so rad! Great ideas and inspiration.
Congratlations on being officially done. 👍👍
Looking forward to the tour next week.
Future builds, yayyyy!!
Such a binge-able series! Still don’t know what R value means though lol
Happy Valentine's Day ❣️
Aaaahhhh grasshopper, your van will never be done. 😉 You’re way to young for that reference (😂), but the van looks great!! You’ve done an amazing job. Welcome to van dwelling. 🚐💨
Love the grain pattern in that slide countertop. It's unique!Love your videos!
I binged your whole build last night and today. I admire you so much! Can't wait for the tour!
I’m going to purchase a Kreig Gig…❤❤
Oh my gosh I am obsessed with those mug hooks. How weird you have room for one more......
Right? It’s almost like I planned it perfectly for another beautiful hand made mug.... ♥️
Again no dislikes good work
Nice job. Admire u 4 what you've done n r doing.im making my van into the weekender.perphaps well cross paths in our journeys...lol
So proud of you! You are an inspiration and a light for me to keep working on build in the dead of winter! Xo
Good job!
My thinking about positioning of the fire extinguisher is near driver's seat. Not to far from your bed or side door, and very near when driving and your or somebody's engine caught fire...
My Chevy campervan has it below passenger seat and new to be built will have bulkhead and thus one is in passenger seat storage and another then in living area.
its bittersweet that this is complete, loves the journey. please keep us updated on your travels x
Good use of the door space might copy that
Fantastic job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your help, you were the only one who made me understand how to fit a puck light 😀
Again, thanks for sharing. 👊🍻
You have done an amazing job. I need to reverse and check out where I left off. My life has just been, build, build, build. Have adventures, catch up soon. 😊
Congrats.
It's great what you have completed. Can't wait for your next video.
Great Job! Thank you for sharing your videos on building the van. It was inspiring to watch :-)
Yay another vanlife UA-camr that i like
I've really enjoyed your journey and it's given me confidence to seriously look at doing this.
Congrats!!!!!
What an amazing journey you've been on...
Great job 👍
I an scared to death of spiders too! It rules my life! 🤣😳
Your doing great.
You could probably roll up clothes and towels and put in your magazine rack too
Definitely I'm gonna try to find a stainless steel one since I'm allergic to wood
🕸️🕷️ Eeeek!
Bad me! Love your dog!
CO is heavy and will start at the bottom of the space, better to put the detector down low. The space would have to fill up before the detector would go off.
Thanks!! I’ll move it!!
First! I’m with you on the spiders! Second, what workshop were you using? Third, loving all the personal touches! I saw a a recent video and had to go back to the beginning and I’m loving the journey! I’m catching up!!!! ❤
THANKS.
Till next week
Oh and buy PAPER MAPS of the surrounding states you are in and the one your in as well. Never lose service on those
I have loved watching you build out your van and your beautiful dog Akela, is she an albino as she has a pink nose she's amazing at how she hikes and paddle boards with you.
Thank you so much! Akela is simply a white shepherd, not albino. She still has her dark amber eyes :)
Happy Valentines Day to you stay safe ❤️
Everytime i see a notification i instantly click it. Loving your content!
Can’t wait to follow your journey!
If the mugs are on the hooks while you're moving, will they clank against the ceramic tile walls?
I think the iron hooks look cool.
Just the sort of thing you would expect from a girl who toured a forge while visiting Sweden!
Exploring America tour : )
Amazing job. Most efficient person i have ever seen. But one question..... now that you are finished with the van, what now? Are you going to respray it? Customize the tires? How are you going to beat this?
Love your videos!
You are the stain master
Congratulations 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
