How long before the pups come up? I have a year old banana plant & no pups yet.

The connection to the mother is critical. You cannot just peel the pup away at any stage. Oversimplified= not learning .

I think that goes without saying.

Question so when a banana plant gets old enough and has pups through its life, and dies, do the pups have another lifespan and now help the species survive. For example a banana tree lasts 6 years, it grows a pup two years later, does that pup have its own 6 year life span?

Yes it has a life span.

Banana trees live until they fruit once and die back. Pups can come up at anytime or may never come up. If you want many plants you can cut down the plant down to the base making shallow cuts in the top and pups will grow

You have to buy the banana tree itself they are grown by removing pups and planting those as seen in the video. Most edible bananas can’t be grown from seeds as far as I’m aware.
