As I recall the last one was in the 1980's. I remember barely making it back home to LaPlace from New Orleans. It was WWL on my car radio that gave me pointers on how to drive in the slush with an automatic transmission. Yes, I remember the 1963 event too.
I caution against running water to prevent water pipes from freezing as this could lead to exposed drainpipes freezing in temperatures below 20°. If you have to run water, run it into a plugged bathtub and then release the water as needed.

I just love that you showed the extreme forecast which you said would never happen but you show it anyway. How about we go even farther and say it’s gonna be 3 to 5 feet why not could be the media is out of control with the sensationalism do you not see yourselves just having snow is sensational enough but no, we must always try and push it harder. You’re not supposed to be an entertainment show you’re not supposed to tell us what could happen if a plane were to crash and then what if it were to crash into an orphanage and then what if the orphanage caught a bunny breeding center on fire what is the point?
