- Here are 3 ways to make money with Florida Apple Snail Shells
Sell the plain shells on eBay or Etsy.
make them into candles.
make them into planters.
If you decide to make them into planters, you can buy succulent seeds on eBay for a very low cost.

You are not going to make a lot of money with snail shells, but they are free and if you have enough small income ideas they can add up over time and often lead to bigger things.

I recently found a bunch in a small towns lake. We gathered a bunch of them but I was confused as to why did I find them only in 1 area of the lake? They were spread out. It was like an Easter egg hunt! lol. I'm super glad to see this video!!
you can glue the snail shell to a clam shell for a base to.

The Apple snail grows to the size of a golf ball but the Island apple snail which is an invasive species grows much larger, and there is another invasive aquatic snail that grows to the size of a softball. We also have an invasive Giant African land snail that will eat the paint off of a house.

How did you clean them? We live in Florida and have a few of them also. I don't want to use bleach but something more eco friendly. I read about Peroxide.... what did you use? Thanks in advance.
I just used a strong stream of water to dislodge and dirt and critters and soaked in soapy water overnight and rinsed them off. You can use car polish to shine them up but most of them look fine.

Robb, Do you have any Mystery Shells for sale size 1 1-2 to 1 3/4?
You know I don't have any extras laying around. I could get more at the canal but it's a bit of a hassle to box them up safely and then wait in line at the post office. Have you look on eBay? I have seen them on sale there inexpensively.

I don't think they are as large, so might not work, but my kid is ALWAYS finding "treasures" like land snail shells. We are both super crafty and creative, but this is a path I'd never thought of. Thank you!
