Reo Motors of Lansing, Michigan builds an amphibious truck for the military. Footage from this subject is available for licensing from www.globalimageworks.com
The M34 "Eagle Beaver" was a short lived prototype that Reo made in 1949 only, none after.Only a handful,or even less,of these are still known to exist in private collection today. It was based from the GMC M135 with just a M35 Cab and front on it.The M35 "Deuce & A Half" also came out by Reo,but in 1950,and was a truck of it's own compared to the M34.All first variations had gasoline engines before going to Multi-Fuel during Vietnam.
I own one of the F22RT trucks like those that were pictured in this video. I love mine and am in the process of restoring it. It will be on our channel soon...
F22RT? This is a M34 Eagle Beaver, which is what came out in 1949,before the M35 Deuce & A Half in 1950.Both trucks are identical and 2 1/2 Ton,but they are not the same.
SS 81 🇺🇸My truck is like the round cab REOs that was shown on the assembly line...Gold Comet engine, round fenders, but no snorkeling parts on the truck. I’ve loved REO trucks since I was a kid. It was a long time before I ever saw a military REO truck. I knew GMC made some though. All of those trucks were quite tough looking. I love old trucks. I love owning a piece of truck history, even more so because they no longer make REOs. 🥰 My dad and his brothers bought several REOs back in the day. Enjoy your truck.
@@the.porter.productions GMC made the M135-M211,which the M135 is what the M34 Eagle Beaver was soley based on with just the M35 cab and front put on it,but both the Eagle Beaver and Deuce & A Half had the 127 HP OA-331 gas engine from Continental and Reo,all until 1960.1960 was when the M35A1 came out with the LDT-427-2 Multi-Fuel,and then the M35A2-M342A2 came out in 1966.All extended variations of trucks were still manufactured under Reo along with several other companies.Reo merged with Diamond T in 1967,therefore becoming Diamond Reo and was still involved in Military vehicle production all towards 1971.They also built 5 Ton Trucks such as the M51A2-M62A2/M348-M548 which were gas, diesel, and Multi-Fuel trucks too through out the years of their line, again, with more than just a few manufacturers.Reo was who also made the US6,for 1940-1945,along with Studebaker.Going back to GMC,they made the CCKW 352-353 as well, which GMC made for the Army,Studebaker had contract to build them for the Navy, and International Harvestor made them for the Marine Corps.
Not a Deuce & A Half,it's a Eagle Beaver. The Deuce & A Half is the M35 and the Eagle Beaver is the M34,both trucks are different, they are not the same, except that both are 2 1/2 Ton.
