She looked at me with dignity She said there's something you gotta see Even though this country's headed for war This nation is prouder than ever before Yeah that was spirit in the air We're more American than anywhere And I just smile cause I could tell This little girl was going to Hell Now I wouldn't mind If you swallowed my pride Make me feel alright Yeah now deep inside Feel alright Hey, all the warmth in her heart Couldn't keep my blood from running cold Cause I fell for her looks Now I wanna go for her throne I tried to tell her a thousand times But little girl didn't understand at all Now I wouldn't mind If you swallow my pride Make me feel alright Yeah now deep inside Feel alright Alright You can swallow my pride Now I wouldn't mind If you swallowed my pride Make me feel alright, deep inside Feel alright Pride... pride... pride You can swallow my pride
That's ok. I like this one more. I like Andrew Wood and Malfunksion MLB and Green River but I like Chris Cornell and Soundgarden and TOTD and Audioslave more. His voice captures me.
I thought this was the original. ?? Just checked it out. I wow after all these years in thinking Soundgarden wrote this. Hail to Green River and SG. Lol. Both versions are awesome
Yes it is a green river cover. This version is Soundgarden featuring Mudhoney kinda bc Mark the lead singer of both Green River and Mudhoney who had just formed is singing and harmonizing with Chris Cornell
Mudhoney wrote it well the members that were originally in Green River and actually Mark the singer of Green River/Mudhoney is the backing vocalist in this version
we just recorded a song with the producer of this song! We even use the amp Kurt Cobain used! ua-cam.com/video/lcc1y_b6pNg/v-deo.htmlsi=-W_VFIreRssH4Sd7
In the Green River version the opening riff sounds much less harmonic and sounds more "gapped" than this version. Also the Green River version does something weird with trying to play a few rhythmic low range guitar notes where Soundgarden does the obvious thing and uses the drums instead. And that's just the improvements I hear in the first 10 seconds. I like the Soundgarden version a lot more.. but I am definitely biased. Oh and I also despise the fact that Mark Arm had someone else sing the bit about patriotism. Her voice is just awful as a singing voice, even if it is supposed to convey a mood. Mark Arm has a decent voice, he should have just sung it instead. Having said all that Mark Arm's lyricwriting makes this awesome song what it is, and the way the innuendo distracts from the song's true meaning is very clever.
I hate reading old comments I wrote like this. Comes off as rude and overanalyzing, trying to put my favored band on a pedestal. The original version is great. Mark Arm's voice is also great, as are Mudhoney's songwriting choices for the original song. Forget all of this, this cover and the original are cool in their own ways.
Soundgarden is and will always be my favorite band Chris Cornell is a great singer, rip

This little girl was going to
Hell
Now I wouldn't mind
If you swallowed my pride
Make me feel alright
Yeah now deep inside
Feel alright
Hey, all the warmth in her heart
Couldn't keep my blood from running cold
Cause I fell for her looks
Now I wanna go for her throne
I tried to tell her a thousand times
But little girl didn't understand at all
Now I wouldn't mind
If you swallow my pride
Make me feel alright
Yeah now deep inside
Feel alright
Alright
You can swallow my pride
Now I wouldn't mind
If you swallowed my pride
Make me feel alright, deep inside
Feel alright
Pride... pride... pride
You can swallow my pride
I did not expect that burp at the end 💀 deviously devoured.
Screaming Life the G.O.A.T. of Soundgarden.
I can't believe this Friday marks a year of Chris Cornell's passing...
And I just got a Screaming Life t last Friday. Fate is weird sometimes.
I play this on guitar and sing it...alone. lt's so raunchy I don't think certain ladies I know would appreciate it lol
Play it for em anyway
@@TheBlackKnight1o1👍

Soundgarden is one of my favorites bands ever! But i prefer Green river version and original...more dirty, more raw
That's ok. I like this one more. I like Andrew Wood and Malfunksion MLB and Green River but I like Chris Cornell and Soundgarden and TOTD and Audioslave more. His voice captures me.

Green River version also features Kim Gordon on backing vocals.
Same
Is this a Green River cover?

Is good, but GREEN RIVER version kick ass, a lot.
Nowhere near as much as this one, though...
Chris Cornell voice is unique
360th like mine!
Who's this song actually written By? Green River or Soundgarden? Or someone else
Green River
Hes right. I like soundgardens version.
I like that he harmonizes with Mark on some of these parts
Mudhoney wrote it well the members that were originally in Green River and actually Mark the singer of Green River/Mudhoney is the backing vocalist in this version

The demo version Green River is much better than the studio version, plus the quality isn't even degrated

😬
Love soundgarden but Green Rivers song is a lot better, has a more disgusting guitar and that’s what makes it good, plus Mark Arm was made to sing it.
It's nice when women work hard at it and then swallow isn't it?
