I have my quilt all cut out and ready to piece……in my mind😂 I decided to go on a marathon of quilt making for our local quilt groups charity making quilts, pillow cases and beads of courage bags for our local Children’s Hospital. Having a week or snow, ice and unusual sub zero temperatures gave me time to so far complete 7 flimsys (that I will be quilting this week) , 20 bead bags, and 20 pillow cases😅….I am not sure what got a bee in my bonnet but I am glad to have felt and filled the need to work on what I hope will be blessings for children going thru tough and scary times. And next week? I have EVERY intention of working on my sew along (unless something else sets me off on yet another marathon😀) autism rules!❤
Dee that sounds amazing - sometime you have to just catch that wave of inspiration and go where it leads - what great service projects - I'm sure they will make people feel loved and seen. Thanks for sharing!
I am watching along for now still learning. Love watching your videos so happy i found you . Easy go lucky is how i think of your quilting style. Not sure what mine will be but i definitely live scrapoy quilts visually. When i start, hopefully soon im sure i will enjoy the pricess too much stress at work and home. Thank you Amy and God Bless.❤
Thank you so much for sharing. I always learn something new from you and it has been so helpful. I have been taking a break from quilting as I am making Easter dresses for my granddaughters but when I get back to quilting I will have some new tools to use. Thanks again.
Ha! I haven’t pressed my finished top either! I will once I am ready to make the quilt sandwich. I also think I’m going to try a facing instead of a binding for this one.
I web all my quilts like my mother taught me. I don’t press until I have to. In fact if I don’t press between sewing rows I can nest the seams much better. Ty for your channel and insight
I always learn something from watching you from laughing with you to “oh!” I didn’t know that, thanks for the tip Amy❤️. So yes I do remember who I am and thank you. Love your sliding quilt screen
I notice you have a lot of bright, juvenile prints. I have almost none of those in my stash. I did the b&w phone pic and it certainly helped determine a few combinations that just didn’t work. The only successful “scrappy” quilt so far, I specifically purchased 1/8 yards of fabric for. I’m going to keep going out of my scraps. We shall see?! Thanks for the tips, Amy. You make great content.
Your top is gorgeous! I feel like I have some ugly fabrics but we’ll see how it finishes. I’m about halfway done and just using up fabric mostly. This has been FUN, Amy. Thank you so much for your teaching along the way.
Thank you for all the tips, Amy! Love the variety in your fabrics. There will be a bit more repetition among my fabrics, but this is making a great dent in the fabric stash. Challenged myself to use more whites. About halfway through blocks plus using HST’s from my geese method to make some strips that might be a border…maybe. Thanks!
Thank You! Trust yourself and play. If it turns out ugly (it likely won't) you'll have learned something and it will still be a cuddly quilt. It's just fabric - have fun. You can totally do this!
Great suggestions! After deciding the layout of my quilt top, I like to take a photo just in case I somehow get a block or two mixed up. Oopsies! I'll have to try the red filter. Thanks much!
Your quilt is beautiful. Is there any chance we can see you long arming it. I would love to see your set up. I have recently been thinking about buying a long arm and I love seeing what other people are doing.
I wonder if I'm the only one who can't figure out how you're sewing rows and columns together. I am much more methodical and would appreciate a slowed down tutorial with lots of commentary as to what exactly you're doing. You're grabbing blocks and sewing and I'm lost! Other than that, i love your colorful scrappy geese!
I know it went fast today. I've shown it before and I'll try to show it again at some point. The best thing to do is check the link in the description box - the one that says "webbing the top" it's a walk through with all the info. Thanks so much!
I'm in the ER waiting for surgery and watching you to try to calm down and not be so scared.
Oh my goodness. All good vibes sent your way for easy speedy recovery!
8:31 prayers for you and your surgeon.
Good luck. Keep your mind occupird
Good luck! Hope it goes smoothly + you regain health quickly!
Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery
I’m watching along

I love your flying geese quilt, beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Yes! We quilt for the fun of it! Keep it fun! Don't take it too seriously!
Exactly!!

You can do it!
Great video, Amy. Love those pink cabinets. ❤😊

Thank you. I’ve got some weirdo fabrics in mine but you SEE the color and then it’s kind of fun to really look at them and notice the oddness!
Always a great video Amy. I was making pillowcases to donate as I watched. You and your assistants are great company.
Thank you so much!

That’s awesome!
Great video! I need a team to lay out my quilts! You should patent that too!
You really SHOULD get one - it’s truly fantastic 😆😆😆♥️♥️♥️. Thank for real!
You are so brave and creative and i am such a chicken! And i guess I'm too literal when it comes to patterns.
Thank You! Trust yourself and play. If it turns out ugly (it likely won't) you'll have learned something and it will still be a cuddly quilt. It's just fabric - have fun. You can totally do this!

I need to know where to order one of those awesome sliding quilt systems lol 😊
Right?! 😆😆♥️
Your quilt is beautiful. Is there any chance we can see you long arming it. I would love to see your set up. I have recently been thinking about buying a long arm and I love seeing what other people are doing.
Yes indeed that is the plan. My longarm set up is a bit unique to suit my needs. I’m excited to share the process. Thank you.
Great tip!! Do you think a sheet of red acetate would work?
Yes it will. ♥️
@@amydement. YAY!! I think I have one squirreled away!
Hi Amy! Pretty quilt. Your kids are great helpers! Best wishes to pennyobrien5641 who is having surgery. Take care, Marion in Oregon.
Thank you they really are kind of awesome! And yes sending all good vibes to Penny! Thanks for the signal boost!

And then the wet dogs came into the kitchen after just getting done jumping in the pool…
Yeah - no kidding!!!
