It's only worth saving if it has a massive investment to take it back to how it was in the 80's!! Barry is a perfect example otherwise, nowhere near what it was in the old days!

I loved 1970s and 80s Coney beach pleasure park . The epic water chute and underneath the structure of it was a dark ride called the magic cavern , also in the fair was a boating lake where you could drive a boat , around the lake was a monorail , also a ride called around the world , it was an indoor dark ride in a boat that took you through different parts of the world with moving models , not to mention the fun house, devils dipper ghost tain , Santa Fe railway and also a dinosaur park just across the road . Outside the fair on the sea front was a small railway that ran along where the car park is , you can still see what's left of the tracks .
Also the Kingdom of Evil......walk around horror. Big rollercoasters, 'Arabian Derby' roll the ball to race the horses, Enterprise, Superlooper, Mould a matic machines which made Disney figures, lots of tourist shops, arcades, etc.
Barry & Porthcawl fairs are rubbish now compared to what they were back then!!!

Great vlog Steve. Mr Evans had great rides there over the years i was told before the slide has been there since the 1960sthey also had the Enterprise ride there .and a roller coaster where the Go carts are now.cheers for the vlog.Awsome😅😂
I remember the cowboy pictures at Barry, my parents got about 5 of them from various years, which is nice to look back on
Great video Mr D i wont say what park or where but we had a metal slide looked like barrels every morning before the public came in we used to wax and polish it and the first few people that got on it knew about it 😂😂

Hi Mr "D" great video what a misrable day raining at start it looked like you had a great time at Coney Beach the Beach party is called a Afterburner it was built by kmg the same place that built the speed 32 i must say it seames stange compare to Barry Island
I forgot to mention at the rear of the fair was a wooden roller coaster called the figure 8 , that was a good ride to . So much going on in that fair back then , I need a time machine to go back on those rides !!

Years ago it had a cover that came over the seats on the sound of a siren. Later after the cover was taken away, there was a tunnel at the back of the track, and bubbles blew!
The sticky wall is the same as that spaceship thing in Barry, except that is enclosed. Same as those spinning cage rides!
Can't beat barry Island fair.
Porthcawl over the years has gone down hill and when I was a child was up the fair every weekend, but still needs saving you can't call porthcawl a holiday destination without a funfair

I was so sad when I heard about it I’ve been here since I was little.
Sad to know in a few years time it’s closing down for the council to build a housing estate, no surprise there though that’s what they done with most of the old butlins land in Barry and the rest became a car park for the council to make money

Why don't henery buy coney beach or do a partnership with the owner. I know he has a lot to do in Barry Island but it would be nice to keep coney beach and have more rides there. We need to save coney beach as it would be devastating to lose it.

I Have a caravan in Porthcawl, I'm down there every weekend ...The fair is due to close in 3 years and it WILL happen...Coney Beach has asked for major investment for years but it hasn't come ...It's a shame because the park is 100 years old ...But it's been neglected for years sadly
