Had an absolutely wild start in Joppa the other day. Mehmet spawned in with two 'hated by fellowship of wardens' rep modifiers. He gets attacked by the warden, a farmer comes to his aid, throws a grenade and catches both the glowcat and the elder in it, so all the farmers are hostile to each other and by the end it was only the warden and Argyve left kicking.
Hey, thank you very much for explaining your actions, thoughts, and some of the keybinds as you go. As a new player, watching your videos has been an invaluable help to get me better acquainted with the game.
Glad to see the 1.0 series starting on YT. As for your question about cutting stuff out and any newer players around now. I think the first time you have to backtrack the same route or doing a specific shopping run, please leave it in to show the new guys the full experience but after that maybe cut it down a bit to save some time. That way the full guide is up there for everyone to see and then doesn't have to be repeated several times later. Cheers again, you walked me through my first month or so of Qud with your Esper season 3 and made it all much more accessible to learn for me.
Tried to follow along with a similar build. The run ended in 2 hours because the first historic site in the canyons spawned clams as cultists. I walked into one on accident and spent good 20 minutes hopping in and out clams trying to get back to the historic site. The last one teleported me underground right next to two svardym and a sultan croc, who decapitated me. God, I love qud
@@Rogue_Ratyep. It’s a knowledge-based game after all. Btw, I would really love to see you play around with warm static early in the run in the future. Seems like an interesting way to play the game
As someone who has bought the game and not played it yet, (currently stuck in PoE 2) I'm really enjoying watching this. You explain whats going on, what you're thinking about doing, little tips here and there, what certain enemies do etc, and you keep the auto play to a min makes it very watchable.
Well done! Happy to see a from the beginning adventure. A little build guide would be nice if you have time. Some beginner ones and some advanced ones with a progression path would be enjoyable. Happy holidays!
Hi Rogue Rat, I have watched this first episode and props to you for how you balance entertainment and knowledge sharing. I have played Qud for 30-ish hours since 1.0 came out, after a year of having the game in my radar, and I finally got to Golgotha for the first time, where of course I died; I checked your guide and the wiki beforehand, but God that was tough. This first Kavach episode has made me wonder about something though, how can you see in the dark in the waterlogged tunnel without a torch nor the miner's helmet?
There's a handy little mutation called 'night vision' in the chimera tree, it only costs one point at character creation, so if you ever have a point left over, I suggest taking it :)
Pretty sure you just needed to go one more screen north in the tunnel since the Red Rock parasang is a standard 3x3 and you only poked your head into the southern-most, but the quest is in the center one. That's why you didn't find the corpse. Had you just poked into the next screen up, I believe you'd have gotten a quest step notification as one of the quest steps is just to step foot in that screen. That might be a bit confusing for new players watching this who try and go through the tunnel for the quest.
I started to play on steam deck and really loveing it so far. Tried it on my PC thinking the controls would be better but I dont have a numpad. i feel like that is essential
Thanks for taking the time to explain everything, I've owned qud for a couple of years, but only now going to invest some time in it. Is it worth buying a number pad for my laptop, or is the mouse control good enough that I don't need to? Thanks.
@@Rogue_Rat I'm old skool dwarf fortress and dungeon crawl stone soup, so love keyboard control, but not sure a number pad would be that good when it's separate from the main keyboard anyway. Fine on a desk, but not so good on your lap, which is where the laptop gets used, on the sofa. Thanks for the reply, looking forward to the rest of the series.
Video borked for me. Posted as a member video I stated. I was enjoying the corrosive gas and double muscle build and came back to this saying it's upcoming. Good to see a fresh start with a character you choose to make. It's even better to see you treating this as a nice explain as you go beginner run. Bzzt may just win first in the end but this one should be a blast too.
Sorry brother, I set the video to premiere which locks members out (which is really dumb) I’ll see if I can send you a link or something so you can finish when I get up! Obviously the rest of the videos will be available to you and other members immediately :)
This build is literally me after Taco Tuesday 💀🙏

Some of the best Guide videos making Qud more digestible, props m8
Wow, thanks!
Great vid. I've been playing for a few weeks and this has helped with a few little tips and tricks.
Hi, super cool video, thank you. No useless bragging, a lot of cool info.
super excited to see where the new season goes thanks as always for the amazing qud content RR!

I really want a d&d game with this graphic style.
i wonder if there is a mod pack
I really like how you explain as you go. I’ve been pushing to the stilt village and dying shortly after. Having fun trying new builds
Glad that dying isn’t putting you off! Keep going, you got this!
as a new player, I enjoyed it a lot - looking forward for more!
Mouth full is right Rogue that bow has a full sentence as a name...lol!
Willpower also does affect cooldown of some mentall mutations!
Oh boy here we go!
Been waiting for this, really stoked for the 1.0 run. Glhf =)
Man I've never done corrosive gas before, its way better than I thought. Cool build!
It's insanely effective! Give it a go :)

Does corrosive gas degrade loot?
It does not :)
@Rogue_Rat this changes everything
Hopefully you get a gas tumbler this run and have abundant access to gravity grenades. 1-tile death-mote is super fun.
Looking through your linked mod list and can't find how you gave your character a different colored name at 00:05:04
In options, enabled advanced at the top and go to the bottom and enable the option than allowed colours (I can’t remember what it’s called)
@@Rogue_Rat Thanks so much for the reply. It was Options > Show Advanced Options > Debug > Enable color menu for text inputs.
Cheers.
Thank you.
Hi! how do you got the "[--turn start--]" in your message log? Great vid btw!
I explain in episode 4, but you type the word 'line' in the options menu and enable the setting :)
@@Rogue_Rat Thanks!

The mouse control is really good! I still prefer numpad, but it's totally playable with just mouse :)

How do you get that F1 menu for giving names colors? Mod or settings menu?
@@galvanize790 settings menu, somewhere near the bottom! Make sure you tick ‘show advanced options’ at the top!

Always a pleasure to get a new vid. I must have missed something, why did the convert die?
I also don’t know what exactly happens, but it does happen somewhat frequently
He is killed when in range of Argyve, as he is a Barathrumite and the convert is a Mechanimist.
Aaah thanks! @@Rogue_Rat
I have to disagree: Corrosive gas is in fact NOT solid, smh. Looking forward to this season though! :)
You got me there! Merry Xmas 🎄
