Thank You Zackscott! I might want to say i reocmmended u to play the game hope u noticed but as long as ur playing the game u will be happy! As if u never played this game u can do ez or normal mode but just want to say theres secrets in the game and action commands are very important i can give u some secret tips soon! If ur doing the next episode for the 2nd star there will be a forest maze and theres a secret path for some awards path is left down down left and theres awards hope that helps u if u need anything just ask in ur videos! Important think Pls Block Blocking is always important if u practice more u will get better at blocking!
Also for Part 2 U have the green coin from the dino boss which is called frog coin? yea u need to give that to the Guy at the shop where u buy gear wepons and items yea u need to give it to that guy to continue the story hope this helped you!

Hey Zack great video just wanted to add that you can use your flower tabs and flower jars from the menu to permanently increase your FP so you can use more specials

In the SNES version of this the chains were called kinklinks , just a bit of Mario RPG trivia for the SNES fans .
I was trying to remember what they were called because I knew it wasn't what it is in this game lol

Edit: 12:56 they've gotten rid of the defend command which was in original so you basically auto defend if you press the attack button as the opponent attacks . Why?
Takes me back 27 years ago playing this with my best friend & just being in complete awe of it for a weekend! Great times! Glad to see it return with this remake!
All of the Mario games are fantastic so I can't wait for more episodes of this game!
You needed to use a toad to get in the area above the door in the castle to get the hidden item. I’m not sure if you’ll get another chance to get that one. There’s another hidden item in the basement of the shop in mushroom kingdom, You need to wait for the toad to get in the bottom right corner of the room and jump on him to get it

they fix that in this version. You can come straight back to peaches castle, and there will be a Toad pacing by the side of the door, and you can jump on his head to get that chest at any point in the game
Oh, I was so hoping you’d play this! My son and I love the playthroughs you’ve done for Color Splash and Origami King. I just bought this (for what is, I think, the fifth time), and it brought back all the feels.
These characters could use some therapy. Mario and Bowser need to address their constant, unresolved conflict. Peach needs to figure out why she's chronically the victim. Luigi could use some coping skills for his anxiety. Bowser Jr. needs guidance to not follow in his father's footsteps. I think Toad would be a great facilitator of group therapy and Yoshi can be their therapy pet.
The worst part about all that is that that could have been part of the movie (just like Perrito from Puss In Boots 2).
You don't HAVE to fight everything, but it might make boss battles a little easier
15:39 Flowers may sometimes pop out of defeated enemies and can either fully heal you (HP Max), buff either ATK or DEF (Attack/Defence Up), or let you immediately take another turn (Once Again) with the last being rarer than the buffs/heal.
20:14 From what I've seen, every 10 combo earned in the chain also boosts your gauge fill but since you were full, it wasn't noticeable.

Hi Zack, in that room with a treasure~you only had one chance to get it. There was a toad who talks to you, and you have to jump on his head and jump above the door, the hidden treasure block is up there. Thanks for playing this!!
Actually, they fixed it in the remake so that in later visits to the castle, if something else isn't happening in the room, there are wandering NPCs that you can use as a platform to get to the space over the door.

I played the original very little as I didn't understand RPGs when it was released on the SNES. I did watch a playthrough so I gained some knowledge of the game. I am soooo enjoying this version :)

Zach one final tip ,mallow is more of a healer / magic user ,Mario is brute force so your best bet is to buy honey syrups to keep mallows mp up so he can heal and damage multiple opponents.
Edit :the boss claymorton is actually called mack ,and he's riding a giant knife in the SNES version it's basically Nintendo slyly throwing in a captain commando reference back in the day .(man this is getting hard )

You should use flower tab to increase 1 fp immediately or you can use at when low too

When your gauge is full 100% you do a special attack especially with a third party.
Should you fight everything? In an RPG? Yes, especially early on. I recommend grinding on your off time.
Definitely worth playing, I ended up beating the whole game on release
Interesting thing I’ve noticed is that MARIO’S gauge move is toad assist. Does this mean that other chatacter’s attacks are different?

Such a classic game. It would be interesting to see one or even two of the movie sequels adapt a version of this story.
I remeber that i've play this game on an emulator back in school, i really enjoyed my journey up to the point that i''ve reach but i coudn't complete it, so im really looking forward to see this series on the channel once i can play it on my own but untile then good luck, can't wait to see all the episode of this series too.
I like it how ZackScott didn't want to fight those enemies until he defeated the two blocking the door.

I'm already playing The Game. It's pretty fun in memo. Fall like I never played Super Mario RP. G. Ever, but it's really breathtaking and a lot of fun. I know it's probably gonna be very hard. But I am going to beat the game. Hopefully hopefully add some tips and to help

You know, I think that the gauge move is different if it’s used on Mallow’s turn. Maybe you could experiment?
You probably figured it out by now, but depending on the members you have on your team, you get a different gauge move for each blending of members. So you get one for Mario, Mallow, and peach, Mario, Mallow, and Bowser, Mario, Bowser, and Geno, Mario, Mallow, and Geno, Mario, Peach, and Bowser, Mario, Peach, and Mallow, and Mario, Peach, and Geno.

I, so hyped to play this i just picked up my copy from my local GameStop amd im about to play this game for the first time as i unfortunately never had the original game on the SNES.

Mallow is a caster type character, you should focus on raising his special when he levels, his physical attacks are all but useless.
Also, every level one of the three bonuses will give more of a boost than the other two, IE: HP may give 4 where the other 2 will only give one. Something to watch out for and decide what you are going for.
As you have stated that you have never played the original, Kudos to you for experiencing this excellent game for the first time. The treasure chest in the Hallway of the Castle you are so vexed by can be found above the doorway leading to the Chancellor. You can ONLY gain access to this chest ONCE. You do this by jumping on top of toad's head...but you need to be quick as he does pause for several seconds in this version of the game after opening the door. You can actually ride him from the staircase to the door if you don't want to risk missing the chance to jump to the platform above the door.
Also: BUY THE JUMP SHOES! All of the armor and weapons you can purchase in the shops, except for one, CANNOT be found in the overworld. The Jump Shoes, for example, will let you use the Jump abilities on foes you cannot damage with Jump without them, like the Spiny.
For Mallow, you will want to make extensive use of his Thought Peek power. Also, remember to return to the item shop to complete Mallow's Errand.

Zack this is just like the original for the stats at level up there is always one right choice there is always one stat that increases more than the other
Flower tabs max your fp out and they up the total number you have. Also items can be used out of battle

I never played Mario RPG but I played the Mario & Luigi games & they seem pretty identical. I'll probably give this game a shot at some point, maybe when the physical version is on sale.

I think Mallow is mostly meant to be focused on magic. His spells are cheap to use and very effective
If it makes you feel better, the hidden treasure in the hallway before the throne room was one of the hardest to obtain in the original. Looks like they've made some changes to make it a little easier to obtain, but that new notification makes it feel like it's mocking you...

I played the original version of this when I was 10. I'm 40 now. Wow, I love the graphics. F. Y. I. Mallow use magic, like a mage or wizard. So, boost Mallow's magic up more like Mario with physical & Hp

A swear one of the old games also had something in Peach's room
Mallow uses a lot of magic (up magic stats on mallow) and equip the antidote pin on mallow he will need it because poison destroys him because of his low health but when the poison enemys are gone just equip another one
I love this game and the og one are super good memories

"I never played the original" that's awesome, then this will be a fresh experience for you and seeing your reactions to everything that happens will be more entertaining.
When you get to a new town, you definitely should buy new clothes to increase your defense and attacks. Very important.
Don put anything into Mallows physical, put it into magic or HP.

mignt help the froggo if you "crit" his thunder bolt. you can hit A just before you attack, similar to mario
