A nice, very brief overview of keeping budgies as pets. I agree they are best kept as a pair or in flocks, rather than alone unless you are home with them _all day._ I'd add (for those not experienced in keeping birds) that the most common cause of illness and death in pet budgies worldwide is fatty liver disease; due to the inappropriate diet and insufficient exercise routines recommended in most pet shops. People should undertake some basic research with reputable breeders and expert forums _before_ buying a budgie; or rather than simply relying what the person in the pet shop tells you.
