Parker Pens being Parker Pens. It was like a dream in our childhood to buy a Parker Pen. It was not only a pen. However, a status symbol & a symbol of sophistication. The affordability factor was too high in the 80s & 90s. After being locally produced, the price has dropped marginally & it feels good to have a good collection of these gems. All thanks to Luxor.

but now when everything is machine made anything handmade is spectacular craftsmanship and what not. Again after 100yrs when everything again...you get the pattern😆
Btw she's referring to the Parkers available in exclusive pen stores, not the pens that are widely available across India, those are made by Linc pens in Nepal. The OG Parker Pen is super pricey but definitely is worth every penny.

Waterman makes pens with a bit of an expensive side that does not mean Parker doesn't have their expensive stuff. The course of history has been changed multiple times by Parker pen that is the reason why they are iconic.

Shouldn't have wasted money on a Starwalker, go directly for the 149.

I bought a Parker Classic (₹290, stainless steel made) back in 2020. Since then, I'm using that pen only. I don't know what kind of refill Luxor offered with that pen, but the pen still runs, and the refill never runs out of ink.

i got a parker pen worth 450rs in 2005 or 2006 when i was in class 4. my friends told me there is no such pen which is worth that money.
I too used parker pens in 4th grade back in 2012, I would only use them, never realised they were considered expensive, strange enough because almost every kid in my class had these, too bad I should've collected them

It was a unique pen not anymore. Atleast when they were in downfall moving all of production to france. The one we get in india could be made by luxor instead
Only the older parkers are worth in gold newer parkers are all worth in single use plastic.
Their plastic quality is so good these days that it cracks like a 045 pen
The roller ball pen ink earlier itself had leak issues with the grease coming off
Btw they hardly give 1 yr max warranty which also takes them lot of issues to honour it
25yrs warranty is out of syllabus
Thankfully I got parker pen and pierre cardin pen as a gift from my teacher and I really loved it and if someone asks for a pen I always give normal pen to use

90% of the Parker pens in malls are fake ones, see the Hologram. Most of them have "colour-printed" holograms, not even true holograms. Hard to find a true parker pen.

Precision matters, not just handcrafting. Indian manufacturing lacks the precision it used to have once upon a time in history.
Look at the micro level finishing on the parts of a high end mechanical swiss watch by A. Lange & Sohne or Patek Philippe.

Parker pens are like luxury. But the fact is once you purchase a pen you never do a second purchase. Because no Parker pen has any kind of rubber grip they are not good for exams where u need to write fast and running notes where you have to write longer time
A word of advice for you, stop making with this kind of double role. You have good presentation skill, just be 1.
Interesting information
Let’s be honest, as a pen collector and enthusiast, I can say there’s only one expensive pen made by Parker - Duofold. The rest are all very average priced and they are all machine made, not hand-made at all.
But there are many others like - MontBlanc, Pelikan, Namiki Emperor, Visconti, Sailor King of Pens etc. who really makes wonderful pens which are actually handmade.

Yes, absolutely. For fountain pen enthusiasts, this video feels child like without any research. Not to say, India made Parkers are not the vintage parkers they used to be.

Parker pen is not maintaining the quality. Very bad openion about the quality nowadays.. I have purchased a fountain pen worth 250/-rupees and it is very bad in writing quality. Very rough and tough writing, no flow for ink etc. Contacted the customer care. They didn't attended the call.. Sent mail regarding the same... But no reply from them... So I decided to stop using Parker.
