I'm from England visited Ghana for a few weeks in 2010. It was absolutely amazing. Did many things like on this video: Cape Coast Castle, Accra, Canopy Walk... then Tema, Takoradi. Would love to go back and see my Ghanian friends. Love the culture and the people. Gye Nyame x

Black African Americans should go and visit Ghana. A lot of Black African American's are relocating to Ghana and making it their home and that's a good thing. I hope to visit one day to Africa with some of my family members, Ghana will be on my list.

Things are "black" not people, people are not things. All dark skin of African origin are called Nubian.

I went to Ghana for 2 weeks in June 2014. Loved every minute of it. Went to meet my friend of 2 years for the first time. Stayed at the African Royal Beach Hotel which was fabulous. I want to go back again really bad. We saw the city of Accra, Cape Coast Castle, Kakum National Park, Boti Falls and lots of his family members. The people are friendly, proud and eager to talk about their country. Since my friend is Muslim we also visited a Mosque which was beautiful. Makola Market was really something to see, lots of people every place you go.....

I'm a Ghanaian and can say that this video is a well made video depicting the country I was born in. The students learned the right lessons from the trip and as a Ghanaian, I too learned a few from watching the video. Thanks for the video and the positive light you have shown on our country. God bless you all!

Ghanaian funerals are very elaborate and expensive. They are a spectacle. 03:55 Jah Rastafari. It is very moving at the slave castles, it is very hard for a white person not to cry and honestly feel a sense of shame, tbh. Kudos to the students for recognizing and respecting the souls brutalized in that sinful institution. After you visit Africa, it will never leave you. The precious people you meet and things you see will be with you forever, and expanded on your next visit.

20:00 Very insightful observations from Alex, Africa teaches those of us in the West to step back and really look at life and how we live. Materialism takes a back seat to people and freedom of time.

many people still dispute the fact that Ghana is the best country when it comes to Africa , We don't boast of skyscrapers , and a lot of those nice things , we are still somehow poor ...but that doesn't really matter ,,What matters is love we have for each other and the peaceful society weve created for ourselves ...slowly but surely we are making it ...there has been a tremendous change since 2012 ,,,,...it is much easier to build a good economy in a peaceful society ...

Just fancy that.... the colonialists gave the Gold Coast it's name because they put so much value on Gold. The African people didn't realise how valuable these colonialists valued GOLD till it was too late. I think west Africa should take back the old names and call coast's and town's by their old and original names

I was going to University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County, and yes, I went. I found it to be the most amazing experience of my life. I couldn't get used to the heat or people being in my personal bubble at all times, but some of the most intriguing and kind people I've ever met were in Ghana. My professor, who is native to Ghana, is attempting to convince me to teach in his former village.

im from ghana and i live in oklahoma. Come on guys nice documentary but there are more nicer places to show and not just poor places. BTw im not sure how only 50% of kids in kumasi go to school. Good job tho

  • @Tglow95
    @Tglow95 12 років тому +2

Kumasi is the Capital City of the Ashanati region.
There is no gold mines in Kumasi but the other towns or villages in the region.
There are no commercial farms in Kumasi.
The narratoer mistakes Ashanti Region for Kumasi; more than half the school aged children go to school.
It is only the Senior High School that is expensive for some parents.. Speaking of the region as a whole, the narrator may be right.
You can't just take a half an hour visit to make such a judgement.

    Prophet Kacou Philippe:
    37. I asked myself, for what other reason were 68,000,000 Christians indicted and killed in the history of the Church? And I asked myself, will Christians who were put to death for making caricatures of the popes go to hell? Will John Calvin go to hell for the Treatise on Relics? If they go to hell, we shall go to hell. But if they go to Paradise, I and mine shall go to Paradise. And our faith rests upon it.
    38. Attacking the devil whatever the manner, it cannot be against the will of God. It can never be against the will of God. Attacking a woman in menses who stands at the pulpit, attacking a woman in menses who stands at the altar; it can never be against the will of God and it can never be it.
    39. Your Honor, everything I preached since July 8, 2002 and which is contained in my book, it is in the virtue of the divine mission that I received on April 24th, 1993 that I preached it. And till my death, I will never accept that some losers will transform the Bible into a trade item and poor souls into clients. It is my mission and I have never obliged anyone to accept it.
    40. A Christian or a Muslim cannot condemn me because I say that I am the only true prophet of God on the earth today because it is the way and the language of all prophets of God.
    41. There is not a single prophet who did not say that he was the only prophet of God in his generation. And unlike Mahomet, I did never take a sword to wage a holy war. South Africa never imprisoned Ahmed Deedat.
    42. And for me, all these sufferings since my abduction, my persecution and my detention by the police of the general intelligence services where I remained seated for five days and five nights sitting on a chair, the traumatization by the scientific police division, the nights in the basement of the police headquarters, the cells of the prosecutor's office and now the biggest prison of Abidjan, it is the history of the prophets repeating itself.
    43. I have already forgiven you. In my prison cell, I asked myself a thousand questions. Has God become Satan and now it is Abel in prosecutor's clothing who persecutes Cain? And is it the disciples of Lord Jesus who deliver the Pharisees and false prophets to courts and to Roman soldiers contrarily to the recommendations of the Lord Jesus. I did not understand.
    44. And if my book incited religious hatred, why did a French publisher publish it and the “Librairie de France” sold it in Ivory Coast?
    45. Everything I suffered, I will take it before Him that sent me on April 24, 1993. But as for me, I will not harm anyone.
    46. When I was a little boy, playing in the dust, I said to my parents that, till my death, I would never harm anyone, I would never fight with anyone and I would never take anyone to police and it is not now that I am a Christian that I will do it. I shall never hurt someone! I can even not do it! You see?
    47. And I asked that copies of this letter be given to the press and every institution of law. And that was done and this text was published in its integrality on the internet and even in international newspapers.
    48. Those are the words that I wrote for my defense from my cell of the MACA, the biggest prison of Abidjan on May 29, 2016.

Why bring up the slave trade BS? Most blacks that came to America had a much better life than they would have had in Africa. Stevie Wonder & Ray Charles definitely wouldn't have become millionaires in Africa.

    • @bigsisjudah3153

John Doherty its part of history whether you like it or not, it needs to be remembered and it holds value for th e descendants of those slaved. I doubt very seriously if those slaved felt as if they had a better life in usa then they would've at home.
