Just the fact you wrote ‘Olympian’ puts you up there fella. You made it much further than a lot of us. Eulogy is for the dead. Keep putting your songs out there.. Talent doesn’t always tender fame.
Brilliant little gig. Loved Gene, but Martin's solo LP is superb. If you're watching this, then you've probably heard it, but if you haven't, you're missing out.
Martin sendo Martin.....uma terapia para a alma....... simplesmente isso.... frustrante não tê-lo visto ao vivo.....ainda imagino um dueto Martin e Morrissey......
Mr R.. If you ever read this you might find this amusing... In the mid nineties I was on a 'American exchange' that ended in a drive across the US. I forced everyone to listen to Olympian on repeat over all those highways in summer heat. So long ago. Pop fame is all about chance. You had the talent, chance didn't accompany you long enough....
Your music has been a constant in my life since I first heard the Olympian album. With Glastonbury 95, Manchester Uni 98, and Clwb Ifor Bach for the solo tour, you’ve provided me with three of my all-time favourite live music experiences. Music is life. Diolch Martin x
Mr Rossiter! I have not been in your orbit since brushing up beside you, back-stage, at some mid-level, midlands venue in the mid 1990's, when my criminally underrated outfit, Elcka, supported your less-criminally underrated outfit, Gene! It a delight to see you still creating beautiful music - I especially enjoyed 'I Can't Help Myself'.... It's also something of a delight to see you have waaaay more grey hairs than I!!! Big Love to you, to us - the uncompromising - Harry Harrold x
I saw you live in Japan a few times back in the late 1990s. I remember thinking your singing voice sounds a bit creamier than on earlier Gene records at that time. Your voice have got creamier now, sounds gorgeous on songs like the second and third song. Also happy to hear you sing Olympian.
He kind of lost it with the last song. It is sad about his father, but that last song hurt to watch. Cringe. Anyone could have written it. He is too brilliant for that.
The song is just so beautiful...so Martin Rossiter.

Most beautiful voice in Britpop scene. Cheers from Jakarta.
Martin, You are my hero since 20th Mar 1995 (Is also my birthday)
- From South Korea
Olympian stands the test of time & still sounds beautiful. Three Points heartbreaking, but relatable to some of us.
Thanks to this man’s tutoring I earn a living making music

The solo album is great, but so very sad.
I’m so happy to have found this, if late.❤ I’ve been a fan for a long time.

Oh goodness, Martin. Three Points... I loved listening to you way back, I love listening to you now. Thank you.

This is brilliant - loved Gene back in the 90s and am glad to see you are still rocking Fred Perry polo shirts, Martin!

Nice to see you are well and still enjoying singing. More songs need your voice.
What a wonderful idea, and what lovely songs Martin. You were and remain fantastic.
Three Points may be your best song--glad you included it.
The best Rossiter! I saw you at canes in San Diego, and in LA.
Having just seen Martin in London at the O2, I felt this deserved another listen!!

Just in awe of this guy x
Sempre gostei de você ainda da época do Gene.
Muito bom Martin sua voz é linda.

Give me something... I can hold.
Thanks for this! I saw you at the Troubadour in LA in 2000.
So beautiful.
Brilliant and beautiful 👍
Thank you so much, Mr. Rossiter
Love Gene ❤️

Quanto è invecchiata bene Olympian... ❤️
Martin I love you still
Great music, tattoos/
Didnt know you could play piano as well as sing Martin..nice one, your a diamond!
Not just play it. I think he actually taught it (maybe still does ?) if memory serves correctly ? 🙂
@JezC Yes your right Jez..he does teach it,he works for British And Modern Music Institute!
Martin
I am your real fan
Still looking and sounding great!.....glad you didn't go bald and fat! 🤘🏽😎
to the point, i'm old, the Olympians song made me cry. there it is. Well done you. re the old, blue polo on blue background was that a wise choice?
I would be interested if these songs were written on the piano or as a band. ?
why are then songs not on spotify ? you have to make then o nn there , they were my life
They are but not listed in the index as Gene. You need to search on song title
How can this have so few views :(
I think they just stuck their roots and did not sell out. That is how everything they produced was just pure quality. Just my opinion though.
Kepp up the one vax man left in the fridge! The song about roses: indeed it is! isnit? is it?
First one.
So what is the truth betwixt he and his ex-wife?
I notice all my favorite Britpop bands have been touring the last few years but no Gene.
I find I Must Be Jesus both funny and poignant like yer blues by the Beatles I’m not sure if that’s the intention though
Never spoke out against this hoax. Sad.
He kind of lost it with the last song. It is sad about his father, but that last song hurt to watch. Cringe. Anyone could have written it. He is too brilliant for that.
You should have your own tv show your judgements are so valuable
It’s difficult to write a song about a man as great as Leonard Rossiter and really do him justice.
