My wearable computer is my most critical filmmaking tool - the Optigon is the custom teleprompter that lets me deliver these ridiculously complex scripts. But it's one of my oldest projects - the Moverio BT-200 augmented reality headset is over seven years old. If I can't build the generation, everything, pardon my language, goes to heck.
I bought a pile of top-of-the-line parts, including the Moverio BT-40 and Khadas Edge-V, and if they work together, they'll create a wearable like no other. Double the resolution, six times the power, a slimmer profile, and total control - the only thing that could go wrong is everything.
Is the title and thumbnail clickbait? There truly would be major consequences if I lost my wearable, even if it's not really certain DOOM. Even a regular teleprompter would affect the flow of our scripts, and you deserve the best content-style video experience. Whether these parts will make it into the next version remain to be seen.
One hack stands between inevitable doom and unlimited opportunity - now to figure out which one it is!

I actually got Epson to send me the Android Kernel source for my BT-200, which I got after being inspired from watching your other video.
I am currently trying to reverse engineer the LCD module, so I can get a MIPI DPI bridge chip in order to make literally the exact interface Epson decided to put into the BT-40 lol.
I've found DisplayPort USB-C is extremely closed source and it really, really sucks. I'm hoping I can get it working but I don't have a lot of hope for it...

To be honest, I like the processes more than the projects. Hear me out Zack
The projects are great and really detailed, but I like watching the videos and seeing the work being done the most. If that means making videos before a project is finished, than that is fine. You projects are so complex that it is probably a good idea to break your videos into multiple parts of it means steadier streams of content.
This is the devil you chose, video maker, not project maker; and he is hungry.

Sadly, the UA-cam algorithm favors the "I made a thing!" video over the "This is how I made a thing". The first type gets more views and that means more chances to sell video ads (which is the business model for UA-cam).

    • @maxwellhesher1790
      @maxwellhesher1790 2 роки тому +1

@@andy-in-indy You have it backwards, the algorithm gives absolutely no care to the content in a video. It’s purely driven by tags, view count, like to dislike ratio, how many likes themselves, watch time, viewer retention and which creator it’s coming from. It has no idea if a project is complete or not. People themselves click on a finished project which fuels the algorithm to bury in process projects.

Given that it turns off and on from both sides when the right is unplugged, im betting the issue is more of a power supply wired in series.
Of course I'm guessing but I can see where some money could be saved in the power regulation circuit by allowing a bit more power and using it across two devices. But because it is so close to the eyes, the series circuit could pop a thermal fuse or something if damage from a drop or something could otherwise cause a catastrophic failure.
If my guess is right, tracing the power from the regulation circuit to the end points would identify the connectors and a small resistor across them should be enough.

    i love your channel!
don't worry about the project not being done. in enjoy the process.
aside from my personal preferences, channels like colinfurze or cody'sLab have multipart episodes on projects which do very well on youtube.

great video super interesting to learn about these devices in depth. I think this incremental update style for some projects could work out. Some projects should probably stay to a video to align with your get it done mentality. This could allow you to build more complex projects while not compromising to quick one video timeline.
