My grandfather was at DDay and was awarded with a silver star and medal of honor. He lost his hearing when a landmine explored. He was in General Pattons 3rd army. How dare he say this. My grandfather had ptsd and had nightmares decades after WW2 ended. He is a hero in my book. This treatment should not be tolerated and should be removed from the ballot

I’m the sister of a 28 year Army veteran. Two tours in Vietnam to include the Tet Offense. I’m so proud of him and his service to the country. He retired as Sergeant Major the highest enlisted rank in the Army. 45 the draft dodger isn’t qualified to tie his shoes.

M of H recipients usually did something heroic to save the lives if his fellows troops. I saw a M of H Medal awarded to a Cherokee ( WWII) on display in the museum of the Eastern Band Cherokee on the Qualla Boundary, Swain County, Western North Carolina. I'm not a pro-military person either but WWII was a different war in that we were fighting Fascist Hitler's Germany, etc... I'm a first generation baby boomer and all the wars in my lifetime could've been dealt with in another way and some the US didn' t need to be involve.

My university classmate died ferrying wounded Vietnam soldiers out of danger in a rescue helicopter. Trump demeaning his service must not go unpunished. I’m not suggesting violence. We just need this outrage to be seriously addressed at a high level.

It would be more like having a speech saying that he has great respect for Medal of Honor recipients, then having a hidden camera recording him saying he has no respect for them behind closed doors. He might be a jerk, but no sociopath. I had to deal with a sociopath as radical and far as possible on the spectrum. I studied it in depth. Read many books and am extremely good at knowing when I see one. Also how to deal with them. He still should’ve have said it. At best, if he is, would be an extremely mild sociopath. It gets strange though, because everyone lies now days and just about everyone has done something a sociopath would do. With my hatred of sociopaths, I do my best to do nothing a sociopath would.

I served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. I was prideful and grateful to be part of such a magnificent organization. Even today, when I go to the V.A. medical clinic, being among other veterans evoke the feeling of pride and sense of belonging to a very special group of people. The military instilled in me, a sense of tolerance, patience and discipline that I will forever be thankful for. For anyone to denigrate the U.S. Military soldiers is sickening and are not loyal to his/her country.

My father was an Air Force pilot, who served in two combat zones, and our family knew a number of families who either lost their father to service in combat or he came home with injuries. I went to school with kids whose dads were POWs. It hurts my heart to hear this remark from a former Commander in Chief. I don’t think any president is perfect, and both parties have their faults and strengths, but this remark from Pres Trump is absolutely disgraceful. I’m astonished by such a comment from a former president. I’m sorry but this is a repulsive sentiment about our military service members particularly those who gave the fullest measure of devotion and courage to our country. Enough already. Enough!
