I get the feeling they purposely made Kirara's scaling because she was meant to be a test. She was clearly designed to be a shielder, but Hoyoverse wants to see if a character can become versatile enough if their numbers were purposely tweaked. In my opinion, they did a good job with Kirara. She's really fun to use, her cat form and her ult can surprisingly hit hard in a Spread team. I also tried to play her in a bloom team where she's receiving hydro infusion from Candace, and it also worked surprisingly well.
I think Yao Yao works best with Keqing quicken teams, but Kirara is preferable if you use Yae Miko, since Yae really appreciates the interruption resistance while she's setting up her turrets. She's an ideal 4* character: Not broken, but fills her role adequately, on top of fun gameplay, and an adorable design. More like this please, Hoyo!

as an f2p who's struggling to find a great team for nilou, kirara helps a lot. not only can her shield tank the bloom dmg nilou's gonna take while reacting with dendro, she also benefits nilou's passive skill (court of dancing petals) cuz nilou works the best in bloom teams cuz of her really WATERY elemental skill 💀💀💀💀💀
I use her in the cat box form after activating both Barbara's and Kuki Shinobu's healing rings. It's a fun mix that I use for my Exploration team when fighting whatever creatures I come across on the map
i use them the same way omg! it’s really fun when she turned into a box and just smash smosh the enemies. for this i built the three of them full em & hp ;D
nah lmao sac is unironically fine its just usually sapwood/fav are stronger for your team (im a big sapwood blade enjoyer) but its still decent for shield 👍
The calcs and the argumentation at 6:14 do not cover the full picture. If held, Dionas shield gets a 75% increase in strength. This increases her shield from 4749 to 8311 points in strength. However, there are still some points in which Kiraras shield is better than Dionas (uptime for example).

EDIT: she is definitely appreciated, my biggest issue with my nilou bloom team is blowing up Nahida cause mine is super squishy. However, if I get pushed away from heals like the jellyfish or yegue then she just dies almost always. Finally being able to use a shielder with nilou is amazing. For my aggravate team I use her as well, although Layla was not a bad choice. A superconduct here and there was fine tbh, but yeah now I have a dendro shield. I tpyically didnt use Layla in this team in the abyss though, more just for fun. Kirara will still not see much use in this team in the abyss for me as she'll be helping nahida most of the time in the nilou team. But I absolutely love her. She's so cute. Catgirls ftw. Just a shame she has human ears and the cat ears are just the hairpin. And the E skill helping with climbing is pretty useful for exploration, too. -------------- Oh I am going to check this out. Also a video idea, since I've been wondering about it: could you cover which constellations are the most worth it from all characters, or at least the 5 stars (but for f2p for 4 stars its probably good to know too)? Eula and Kokomi are coming and I want cons for both, Fontaine is coming... if I get cons for all chars I like I will simply not be able to save up for Ayaka and Nilou. When it comes to her team I had an idea. Get her, Barbra, and either Raiden, or Xiangling, use Barbara skill to make the healing ring, activate Raiden skill for the electro, and then maybe Xianglings ult for the fire ring. Then use Kiararas skill and run around making dendro cores that either explode or home in on enemies. U could also switch either Raiden or xiang out for Nahida and use her ult. I call this team "Core meltdown" lol👍🏾
I'm afraid you get burn with Kirara's dendro application, that's first. Second, I'm sure Xiangling with no ICD applies too much pyro here. even in burgeon with less pyro and way better hydro like Xingqiu, still you pretty much want to add another hydro or unit with element that will help with reactions: cryo, geo or electro. But... This very interesting idea to experiment and if not exactly this, then something else could work more nicely.

You will continue burning just by adding dendro, you don't need more pyro. I always have Benny as only pyro on my burn and burn-melt teams. To spread it in AoE go with anemo, Kazu, Sucrose, Venti. You can burn enemies with dendro character, but with anemo usually it will be better. Airfryer, standard burning team has two anemo. And you want EM build for that, ideal for anemo, not for Kirara with HP scaling. Other problem - you will simply burn yourself with Kirara and she doesn't have healing. She doesn't seem to be good for burn and burgeon teams, I think.
Kirara, Barbara, Kuki, and any Flex character (either hydro or dendro...). Best meta Hyperbloom team. Just use barbara and kuki's skills, then turn into kirara box and hit all the enemies. You'll clear almost every floor in the abyss with full hp.

Could Kirara work as a viable alternative to Zhongli/Diona in a Ganyu reverse melt comp? She won't be accidentally melting since dendro doesn't react with cryo, plus she can trigger burning in tandem with Bennett and Xiangling
Kiara self applies Dendro so if you use her skill on Bennett's burst you light yourself on fire and can kill yourself so her synergy with Bennett isn't great.
I had all but given up on Genshin after multiple boring (imo) releases/characters, and then they released Kirara. I reluctantly logged in and said to myself, "I only have 25 wishes saved... there's no way I'd actually pull her." I got her in the 2nd 10-pull. So yeah... I'm thinking I'm back.
I got Kirara on my f2p alt account and decided to dedicate the good luck I got on it to her completely (early pulled Jade Cutter on Nilou’s first banner and then got C2 Kirara after it ended) I’m now at AR 35 on that account (30143/7475 Adventure EXP) running only Kirara and I’m having a lot of fun still! Beat Childe first try, which on my main account took me about three. Now I’m just going for cons and building her up before I ascend to the next World Level, since I definitely know she can be better.
I'm still mad and upset that a didn't get her when she was first released especially after all that farming I did and I still don't have her. This video will be a big help when I get her though.

I'm surprised no build guide mention Kirara in exploration team. I never play her in abyss but in open world. I think that's where she shines the most and not necessarily in reaction teams. I think the best explo team is Wanderer, Yelan (or Furina) Sayu and Kirara. This team is so much fun and is perfect for exploration. I think that's her best team, so I play her with favonius and 2 pieces build that gives her 40% HP..

I made my kirara a noblesse holder so she can do support more than just being a shield bot and can help characters like Keqing and Alhaitham in doing more dmg than just giving them protection. She's kinda a requirement to me even I already have Baizhu as there cases that I might use Baizhu and Nahida together instead of them being in separate teams...Me having her build well as my Baizhu Nahida and DMC gives me no headache for dendro supports since I can automatically do dendro resonance in both teams without sacrificing dmg consistency.

I'm planning on runner her with Jadecutter as weapon, then double 2piece 20% HP artifacts with 1 atk% main stat and 2 HP% main stats. Kind of a dps/hp hybrid, but mostly hp.
Really hope I can get her eventually, but what I want even more is for mihoyo to stop playing and drop an anemo shielder! One whose shield has elemental infusion and the elemental damage absorption is based on the element that is infused.
Nilou, kokomi, collei, kirara My kirara has 20k+hp, 1k+ atk, 130+ER and 900+ EM... She is my DPS I dont really care about her being a shielder lol and it would seem i have been using her wrong hahaha but doesnt matter shes fun as heck
Basically the same shield strength with diona. Diona hold skill automatically gives 75% extra damage absorption no need to stack it up. While kirara base shield is higher by 5% While at max stack kirara overall shield dmg absorption is 70% maximum Diona shield stronger by 5% Kirara max stack 60% dmg absorption Diona max stack 75% dmg absorption Kirara base shield is 16% + 1.8k hp Diona base shield is 11% + 1.3k hp Overall basically equal But kirara needs stacking to max What if u miss what enemy or theres only one enemy your shield stuck at 20% dmg absorption. Diona still better comparable to Zhongli shield.
I didn't realize her shield can stack or how high her burst scaling is 😃 I threw an old Skyrider Sword I haven't used in ages on her since I had nothing else I wanted to give her that wasn't already being used, but I had considered giving her Sac. I might make Sapwood for her since my second Sac Sword isn't R5 yet. but I feel like her hold skill will probably make it easy to proc Sac Sword's passive. 🤔 I was thinking that she might make a nice shield for dendro/electro teams since we don't have a reliable electro shield yet :)

Could Kirara work as a viable alternative to Zhongli/Diona in a Ganyu reverse melt comp? She won't be accidentally melting since dendro doesn't react with cryo, plus she can trigger burning in tandem with Bennett and Xiangling
Kiara self applies Dendro so if you use her skill on Bennett's burst you light yourself on fire and can kill yourself so her synergy with Bennett isn't great.
I had all but given up on Genshin after multiple boring (imo) releases/characters, and then they released Kirara. I reluctantly logged in and said to myself, "I only have 25 wishes saved... there's no way I'd actually pull her." I got her in the 2nd 10-pull. So yeah... I'm thinking I'm back.

I got Kirara on my f2p alt account and decided to dedicate the good luck I got on it to her completely (early pulled Jade Cutter on Nilou’s first banner and then got C2 Kirara after it ended)
I’m now at AR 35 on that account (30143/7475 Adventure EXP) running only Kirara and I’m having a lot of fun still! Beat Childe first try, which on my main account took me about three.
Now I’m just going for cons and building her up before I ascend to the next World Level, since I definitely know she can be better.
Dendro sayu is amazing
I'm still mad and upset that a didn't get her when she was first released especially after all that farming I did and I still don't have her. This video will be a big help when I get her though.

What I love about having Nahida C2 is that I can keep Kokomi on hp build and still decimate abyss. I'm so going to attempt Nilou C2 on rerun

I'm surprised no build guide mention Kirara in exploration team. I never play her in abyss but in open world. I think that's where she shines the most and not necessarily in reaction teams. I think the best explo team is Wanderer, Yelan (or Furina) Sayu and Kirara. This team is so much fun and is perfect for exploration. I think that's her best team, so I play her with favonius and 2 pieces build that gives her 40% HP..

I made my kirara a noblesse holder so she can do support more than just being a shield bot and can help characters like Keqing and Alhaitham in doing more dmg than just giving them protection. She's kinda a requirement to me even I already have Baizhu as there cases that I might use Baizhu and Nahida together instead of them being in separate teams...Me having her build well as my Baizhu Nahida and DMC gives me no headache for dendro supports since I can automatically do dendro resonance in both teams without sacrificing dmg consistency.
Tried getting 1 Kuki and ended up getting C4 Kirara…
I was building my Kaveh and now i got Yoimiya on my 4th pull and buidlung her also. I don't have enough resources for Kirara.

I'm planning on runner her with Jadecutter as weapon, then double 2piece 20% HP artifacts with 1 atk% main stat and 2 HP% main stats. Kind of a dps/hp hybrid, but mostly hp.

Finally after 3 banners and 170 wishes I got her. I have never been so unlucky with a character before, except Hu Tao 3 times lost 50/50.
Really hope I can get her eventually, but what I want even more is for mihoyo to stop playing and drop an anemo shielder! One whose shield has elemental infusion and the elemental damage absorption is based on the element that is infused.

My kirara has 20k+hp, 1k+ atk, 130+ER and 900+ EM... She is my DPS
I dont really care about her being a shielder lol and it would seem i have been using her wrong hahaha but doesnt matter shes fun as heck
So, idk if this is a perk for Nilou, but I noticed that Nilou does not get affected by her Bountiful Cores,
Basically the same shield strength with diona.
Diona hold skill automatically gives 75% extra damage absorption no need to stack it up.
While kirara base shield is higher by 5%
While at max stack kirara overall shield dmg absorption is 70% maximum
Diona shield stronger by 5%
Kirara max stack 60% dmg absorption
Diona max stack 75% dmg absorption
Kirara base shield is 16% + 1.8k hp
Diona base shield is 11% + 1.3k hp
Overall basically equal
But kirara needs stacking to max
What if u miss what enemy or theres only one enemy your shield stuck at 20% dmg absorption.
Diona still better comparable to Zhongli shield.
Fontaine better add a 4* craftable HP sword.

I didn't realize her shield can stack or how high her burst scaling is 😃 I threw an old Skyrider Sword I haven't used in ages on her since I had nothing else I wanted to give her that wasn't already being used, but I had considered giving her Sac. I might make Sapwood for her since my second Sac Sword isn't R5 yet. but I feel like her hold skill will probably make it easy to proc Sac Sword's passive. 🤔 I was thinking that she might make a nice shield for dendro/electro teams since we don't have a reliable electro shield yet :)
