As a swede I totally buy the arguments for Eklund, but I also get why he didnt get picked over someone like Arvidsson. I believe it's more of what type of role they can offer, and I think it makes more sense to put Arvy in a 3rd or 4th defensive/energy/shutdown line compared to Eklund. Does Eklund break the top 6 in the sense of what role he can provide? Is he a better playmaker than Nylander, Bratt, Pettersson etc? Arguably not (yet at least), I also wanted to see Eklund in this team but a get why he didn't get picked. He is probably the first guy to call up if any of the top 6 gets injured or something. I would probably also have picked Zetterlund over Arvidsson, and I can't come up with any other reasonable explanation than the experience factor. But hey - a coach gotta do what a coach gotta do, and he obviously sees more usefulness in Arvy.
Just putting it out there, swedish media with deep insight into the NHL predict Markström to be the guy for sweden in 4-nations. Could change but seems like the coaches are putting a lot of focus on a proven track-record. Also Eklund was probably snubbed for Leo Carlsson if we are being honest. He is not intended for the same role as Gustav Nyquist and Viktor Arvidsson. To make use of Eklund he should be in the top 6 and there just isn't a spot for him there right now. Zetterlund on the other hand I think could fill the same role as either Nyquist or Arvidsson and would in my mind be the better pick.
Arvidsson is most will slot in with Forsberg and Nyquist and try to bring that chemistry they have shown in both NHL and in the national team when they have bee playing in the same line, I think that's the main reason he made it, we know what he can do with the correct players next to him, and the correct player most of the time have been Filip Forsberg.

Markström will be #1, Gustavsson probably #2. Arvidsson makes sense because it's a short tournament so you need some veteran experience for those shutdown lines. Our defense and goalies might bring us to a final. I don't see us winning the tournament though.

Kempe and Lindholm were never any good when playing for Team Sweden.Marcus Johansson and Janmark should have been picked instead.They've always been good.Also Hampus Lindholm over Erik Karlsson.Eklunds time will come.
Calgary captain Backlund is the role player that I think is being missed the most on the team.

my argument against especially nyquist is speed, i guess the coach like the chemistry they have in nashville, and i guess nyquist plays penalty kill.
Eklund plays pk and pp and can play a checking style if needed. Watch him play sometime. Dude is good
