- Well we finally got the boat back and working so this was our first trip to Catalina Island for this 2022 season. Crazy it is already July and we hadn't been to the island yet. Anyways, we had Yellowtail and Seabass on our minds as we hopped spots around the island in hopes of getting one on the boat our first trip out.

One of the best months to be out there!
Awesome video, I have a newer Boston Whaler 170 Montauk, made my first trip over last week. I'm a relatively new boater, I noticed you guys docked your boat and went into Avalon. Do you have any info on where and how I would be able to do the same thing and if it can also be left overnight? Also next time you camp out it would be cool on showing us how you anchored the boat in the cove.
Thanks for watching Robert. I can definitely do a more in depth video on how we anchor overnight at the campsites. As for avalon, you can get a mooring and take a shore boat in
Looks good! Maybe a little overboard on the peppers.👍
Cool video
Thanks for watching!
Hey man I noticed your 3in1 transducer is almost in line with your prop, are you picking up any interference from the prop? How far away is it?
how was the ride there and back ? where did you leave from ? im about to attempt my first trip in a 20ft bayliner, trying to get as much tips and info as i can before i do try it..
I usually only come back in the afternoons when the weather is really nice. If the wind picks up I will sleep on the boat and come back in the am.
At 15:20 at the top right corner what is it that is flying over ?
I would like to go to the island for both camping and fishing for few days. I have few questions that how did you move camping stuff to land or camp ground? Do we have to reserve a spot on the beach for camping?
We usually pull the boat in close and have someone standing about waist deep keep it off the rocks and just throw stuff haha. You can also get an inflatable paddleboard to go back and forth. You can reserve the spots online or calling two harbors campground.
Dope video! What’s the rules on camping? Do you need a permit to camp on the beach?
Thanks for watching! You can book the boat in campsites online or by calling two harbors campground.
Great video sir. Was the first spot you fished at on the Avalon side???
Where did you moore when you stopped in Avalon?
We just got a mooring in avalon
siiiiiiik edit! hey is this camp spot called cabrillo? thanks bud!!
Came to show some love from Vicks channel. Hope his shout out helps the channel grow. 👍
Right on thanks Marcus!
Great video! I take my CC out to the island as well and love to do exactly what you guys did with exception of the camping on the beach… but have thought about it many times. Can you just share with me how you guys do that. Do you just pull up to the shallows and unload? And the last person swim to shore? I was thinking of pulling a little kayak. My CC is a 2003 Angler with a Yamaha 150hp 4 stroke.
Hey Jesse! Sorry I dont know how I missed your question here. you can book the boat in spots online or by calling the two harbors campground. I usually will go bow in and throw the stuff off on the beach then i will anchor and swim a stern anchor in myself. A blow up paddleboard works great to transport stuff as well if you have the space for it.
Nice video, just found this channel. By the way, did you mix rice vinegar and sugar with the rice? or just plain rice? Sushi does not taste right without vinegar / sugar mixed rice, as you probably know. Just curious. I am going to check out your other videos now.
Hey thanks for watching! I actually use a pre-made rice vinegar powder. I forget what it is called but you can get it at asian markets or online. I definitely agree it doesnt taste the same without it!
If you ever get the chance to meet an Avalon local that can drive you up to the lake on the island its by the "middle ranch" I believe its called McGee Lake the freshwater bass fishing is insane, the lake is almost untouched by tourists or anyone from the mainland because its tricky to access. Check it out
I actually used to live in Avalon during the summers and work on the parasail boat out there. I was lucky enough to be taken to that lake and it is definitely something special! insane amounts of bass!
Awesome
Can you tell me if you have private charters,if so how much?
I don't currently do charters but stay tuned...

Hey Ben, your name's on that sign
Lmao daaang!
Dippppp
Regarding your kill bag in protected MLPA's... according to Scientific America, Catalina has 9 separate MPA's, 6 of these allow "some fishing and harvesting of pelagics", while there are three "strictly no-take" areas on the north side of the island. Blue Cavern and Casino Point State Marine Conservation Areas are mentioned by name as "prohibited without federal permits etc". Long Point State Marine Reserve is the only MPA on the island that is completely “no-take. I would guess that the "no-take" areas are also going to be "nothing in possession". This being California, I'd double check to make sure the rules didn't change at lunch time.
bro change the title to stopped by border patrol or whoever that was. EASY 1m viewers
