Nath I went from knowing absolutely nothing about this game to being keenly aware of 1970s political culture in the north - amazing video, love that this game is so focused on the story behind the horror. Will be seeing Boys From the Black Stuff soon for the first time as well! Couldn’t be more excited now!
Always a delight to hear Nath weave in literary, social and historical references to a game overview. You are a joy to listen to - and I too thoroughly enjoyed Everybody's Gone To The Rapture. It's a really unique and interesting setting they've gone with here for Still Wakes The Deep....consider me intrigued.
This video did a great job of not showing too much but giving us a great impression of what the game is like. This has got me even more excited for the game. Great job, Nath!
Excellent video Nath, eloquent writing as always and I love the touchstones you use from other fiction! I was already looking forward to this, but all the more so after this video.
The best thing about a Nathan video is that you know you're gonna get that sweet, sweet contextualization. Excellent video. I'm even more interested in this game now.
These are the kinds of PS access videos I miss, great work Nath! I love ‘walking sims’ like everybody’s gone to the rapture and what remains of Edith finch. Great to see the next game from the Chinese room. Now just got to wait on what the giant sparrow have been up to since Edith finch…
Awesome video Nath, I absolutely love your analysis of games! Reminds me of when you analysed Dunwall for a Tuesday Checklist - could watch hours of that content
4:15 Love how much grapich has grown on the small decorating objects. I remember When I was a kid in theold games whenever you seen food on kitchens like soups in the pots or food on plates you would be unable to tell what it is, just some blury textures. But here: Cooked eggs with bacon. White beans in tomato sauce I would be able to tell each one of them if I would be more familiar with them.
Absolutely loved Rapture so really looking forward to this. Looks incredible and right up my alley. I can't believe I hadn't heard of it before now. For some reason I thought the Chinese room had closed down. Glad to hear they're still around. I hope this game does well for them.
I had to stop the video in case I learned too much. But I would just like to say it’s a great video, I’m absolutely sold, and I really liked your take on the subject matter and the authenticity of the approach. Thanks so much, maybe I’ll come back after I’ve played it. Which I definitely definitely will.
The real existential dread was that jump across to the ladder and barely hanging on by one hand above a watery abyss. Yoiks. Always up for a bit of unknowable horror, this looks like a good catch.
So excited to see what i see what i do for a living in a game Not just a normal game but a horror one being in the off shore rigs is really interesting and terrifying in real life
Fantastic preview, you've definitely convinced me to check this out. Had no idea they were working on a new game! Great to hear a familiar voice too, awesome work on the vid!
This is looking like my next favourite game… Absolutely brilliant. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. And, by hand on it, I mean buying a physical version of it for PS5 (hopefully)
Just had an ad for this game and decided to learn more and this video came up, and now I'm absolutely looking forward to getting my hands on this game!
I’m really enjoying playing these more niche games now that I have some breathing room from AAA(A) games coming out every other month. I honestly enjoy them so much more.
aaaaaah I would absolutely love this for the worldbuilding and weirdness (Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is my absolute favourite game/experience) but I am really not a fan of jump scares! I may have to try to push past that though, this looks too good!
I loved playing everybody gone to rapture definitely getting game when it comes out but I would love another set in a English village like everybody’s gone to rapture
Really looking forward to this actually. The setting is fantastic and will allow for tapping into such primal fears such as isolation and claustrophobia. While what you're trying yo avoid is currently embargoed im getting Lovecraftian vibes from that tentacle from the deep.
Looks bloody class! Love the games where you are stuck somewhere hostile such as bioshock, control, prey. I hope it's not to scary though I'm a right wuss
Ye same here mate looks great can’t wait too get it for PS5 it’s on my wish list ready :) and apparently it’s quite scary Games Radar played it. And said it was pretty scary and creepy. And there’s some monster about looking for u. Can’t wait too see what the monster is!
Thanks for the good informative video! Great work! I will play this on GamePass. Am I allowed to say that? I have both consoles and if I remember right it will be available day one, so it makes sense for me... By the way: the devs are also working on Vampire The Masquerade 2. Not sure if the walking sims guys are ready for that...
No it’s an Outlast sort of game run and hide. Apparently some sort of monster hunts u down. And I loved Outlast can’t wait too play this. On the wish list ready for when it releases 😀👌
Is this a Sim like PREY or SS2 or even Alien Isolation. Or is it more like an Adventure Game like Amnesia series. I really hope this is more like Prey but I don't think it is.
_The Thing_ meets _Annihilation_ is all you needed to say, and I was there. The fact it's by _The Chinese Room_ only cements the deal.
U have a huge forehead 😂

What a treat to have Nath doing a video on Friday. Love these. We need more.

Why tf was this not in the showcase
Its been shown weeks ago before the show genius
@@guineapigginsI think what they’re implying is that this was worthy of being in the state of play because of how good it looks, genius.
Absolutely, this would have been a highlight in a show that really needed it.
Because they were too busy showing us top quality titles like infinity Nikki.
They love teasing us hard don't they?
Excellent video Nath, eloquent writing as always and I love the touchstones you use from other fiction! I was already looking forward to this, but all the more so after this video.
Great video Nath!!
This should have been in the State of Play yesterday! Have hyped it before but had almost forgotten about it. Deserves better than just this video!
its on Xbox
Great to hear from you again Nath, you’re missed.
God damn, Nath. I have missed your incredibly well written videos.
Hear hear!
The best thing about a Nathan video is that you know you're gonna get that sweet, sweet contextualization. Excellent video. I'm even more interested in this game now.

2:23 Thats some mighty fine water graphics!
Awesome video Nath, I absolutely love your analysis of games! Reminds me of when you analysed Dunwall for a Tuesday Checklist - could watch hours of that content
I loved Rapture and Dear Esther so been looking forward to this one, great preview Nath!
I wasn’t too sure about this game originally but the mystery as well as the Alien Isolation vibe has piqued my interest quite a bit.

Legend has it Rob is still on the menu screen......Ahh look at that water!
😂😂😂

Always up for a bit of unknowable horror, this looks like a good catch.
This was really well done. I'll be honest, I was going to skip over this game, but your video has sold me on it. I'm actually excited for it now.
So excited to see what i see what i do for a living in a game
Not just a normal game but a horror one being in the off shore rigs is really interesting and terrifying in real life
The list of games Dave needs to play on stream this October is piling up
I have high hopes for this games release on june 18, especially since I haven’t had a good horror experience since playing Amnesia: The Bunker.
This reminds me of SOMA a little,I think its the best game the delevopers of amnesia released so far, hope you played that one too!
Fantastic preview, you've definitely convinced me to check this out. Had no idea they were working on a new game! Great to hear a familiar voice too, awesome work on the vid!
This is looking like my next favourite game…
Absolutely brilliant.
I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

I really enjoyed Rapture when I played it last year. Might just go put this on the wish list
Just had an ad for this game and decided to learn more and this video came up, and now I'm absolutely looking forward to getting my hands on this game!

Excellent video Nathan. Had me pausing every few minutes to google some of those references.
Getting it for Series X, I loved Everyone Has Gone To The Rapture and this game looks amazing.
This looks great! Excellent video, Nath.
I guess you could say, the oil rig is...also a character
aaaaaah I would absolutely love this for the worldbuilding and weirdness (Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is my absolute favourite game/experience) but I am really not a fan of jump scares! I may have to try to push past that though, this looks too good!
Would love to see David do a playthrough of this game. Headphones on. Lights turned off. 😂
Oooo damn, while not a PS kinda guy here, def awaiting what I heard from here for PC then. Quite some good stuff i heard
I loved playing everybody gone to rapture definitely getting game when it comes out but I would love another set in a English village like everybody’s gone to rapture
great video. very scottish lol looking forward to picking up more horror games to binge this october.
Same here!
Great stuff. Hope this is as good as it looks!
Really looking forward to this actually. The setting is fantastic and will allow for tapping into such primal fears such as isolation and claustrophobia. While what you're trying yo avoid is currently embargoed im getting Lovecraftian vibes from that tentacle from the deep.
Been waiting since the first reveal trailer to see some gameplay!
Also hi Nathan, we missed you!
Looks bloody class! Love the games where you are stuck somewhere hostile such as bioshock, control, prey. I hope it's not to scary though I'm a right wuss

Atmosphere nailed.
Looks great, reminds me a bit of Myst in the style.
Right up my alley. Thanks Nath!
I’m not very big into horror games, but watching this makes me want to play it. Nice video Nate 👍🏻
Can’t wait too get this on PS5 it’s on my wish list love horror games 😃👌
I’ve been so excited for this game since it showed up on an Xbox showcase last year. Already ordered the PS5 physical copy, can’t wait to try it.
Been waiting for this one
Hopefully nath is coming back onto the channel, would love to see him back with his antics and fun with the rest of PS Access!
I look forward to Dave’s play through. It be like the outlast play throughs
Game looks great, definitely playing it at some point
I can't wait to play this game. It looks awesome.
Thanks PS for this video, which added agitation to this interesting game.
I will play it on a game pass from day one 😚💚
This reminds me of an Amazon Prime miniseries, The Rig, down to being Scottish and Lovecraftian weirdness.
Been looking forward to thiis
A delight to see a Nath video!!
Saw this on game pass and installed immediately
That ladder was top notch.
As a Scotsman, this is great. Feel sorry for people who has to put on subtitles however 😏
Good to see a video done by Nathan🎉
Incredible video Nath!
Nath reviewing a game? Today is a good day!
This is going to be special
Brillant Studio , top Video
So cool that such an anticipated game gets to showcase Scotland, Scottish voices and Scottish Gaelic!
So nice to get a Nath video! ❤
Another Chinese Room game. I bloody adore Rapture. So will be picking this up!
Great game definitely playing it
Can't wait! Will it have running and combat then?
No it’s an Outlast sort of game run and hide. Apparently some sort of monster hunts u down. And I loved Outlast can’t wait too play this. On the wish list ready for when it releases 😀👌
This looks really cool might have to check it out.
That ladder was indeed nice 👌
Feel deep & creepier!! 😨🖐🏻
This look so good!! Cant wait to play it
Good video Nathan 🫡
i hope there's more video game in this video game than there was in EGttR. that title had spectacular voice acting and very little else
Well crafted video this
Get Nath back permanently!! I miss his care free energy!
Nothing particularly groundbreaking but it nonetheless looks and sounds excellent. Surely a definite buy for fans of the survival genre.
One thing, he’s coming down that ladder dangerously … tut. Immersion broken 😄
Sounds good
Say whatever you want, but there are definitely some Big Shell vibes in it for me.
Cant wait for this and Nathan if there is any way i can read what you wrote on the north sea?
Well, the real horror here will be me trying to understand Scottish accents without subtitles. English is not my native language. But I will try.
There is an "international english" subtitle option as well in case even the scottish english subtitles are not enough :D
Playing this on Game Pass
Are there survival crafting elements or is it a horror walking sim? Very excited either way, looks amazing!
more like a run and hide kind of game?
mericans are gonna be hard on the subtitles ya ken!
I’m merican & I can tell you subtitles definitely make me hard
Anyone else watching this reminded of the Amazon prime show ‘The Rig’ from like 2 years ago?
As someone who works on these platforms, I think I’ll pass 😂
Can't wait to play this day One with Gamepass
Dear Esther meets Half Life
Wee Nath at it again. Thanks little man. 🙂
😂
Imagine this in VR it would cause panic attacks 😂
8:20 HL2 reference
Oh goodness, gonna need to subtitles for this one
Haha I should have said, they have both "as spoken" subtitles and "regular English" as well
this review was a million times better than the moany IGN one
can you play this when it comes out please
Is this a Sim like PREY or SS2 or even Alien Isolation. Or is it more like an Adventure Game like Amnesia series. I really hope this is more like Prey but I don't think it is.
