  • Have you always wondered why your mixed voice is not strong? Or when you try to sing in mixed voice, you find yourself trying to lower your larynx in order to counteract your high larynx?
If you do, you are making one of the most common compression mistake that I see my private clients making. In this video, I show you how to compress the right way into your high Complete Mixed Voice™ Placement, so that you can sound nice without over darkening your voice.
And if you've understood what I've taught in the video, you know that accessing your high Complete Mixed Voice™ Placement is the most important step for you to start compressing like a pro. DISCOVER How here 👇:

I was frustrated I couldn't sing f4, after watching this video I realised that I was pushing to sing f4 with chest voice. Thank you for valuable info.

This is brilliantly explained and demonstrated! 👍
That bit at the end was a real eye opener for me!
When I try to sing louder with more compression and more connection at or above my passagio I thought I had to add more chest!
I never ever considered that this might be wrong!
But you are right! By doing that I'm changing my resonance and not my compression! That is pure gold information!!! 🙏

Glad I searched 'mixed voice compression' which lead me to this video - outstandingly explained and enlightening. This from a singer (ie myself) who has just found his mixed voice but struggles to maintain it in over a mic with a loud band

I feel like if F4 is where your passagio is at as a guy, you're already the exception... for most guys it's around C4, mine for example starts at A3...

lol f4 is right at my passagio. C4 for me is way too low but I don't have a crazy high voice either so idk

@@energeticstunts993 Then you're lucky, I guess. I remember back in music class, so a class for music theory and not singing, our teacher would sometimes have us sing and none of the guys could really sing above C4. There was only one guy who could sing a shaky E4
Personally, the way I understand mixing - it starts way lower, at around G3, and F4 is where you would have to transition from a chest-dominant to a head-dominant mix. If someone is not already mixing at F3/G3 then they're probably in a very heavy and thick coordination and then there is no way they are going to get it up to F4, or even D4 or E4. Only if they resort to shouting. I'm speaking from personal experience here haha
If you could always sing up to F4 without problems and without shouting, then you're naturally talented and should consider yourself lucky haha

@@masonkyle6318 well idk. I'm a beginner. I can pull my chest up to B4, idk what the hell mix is, still trying to find that stuff haha. But my f4 does have a shouty quality if I'm honest but I can sing it softer but it's definitely not mix

As a baritone I can't even sing F#4 without going straight into a breathy voice. So my passagio probably starts sooner.

I loved your videos, very good, everyone should see them! Making my notes darker does not happen to me because I always maintain a high position, my problem with high notes is my mouth, it is very difficult for me to open it, when I make my mouth I yawn it sounds like an opera, I don't know what to do, what should I do?😪

Is compression the amount of breathe support or strength

I enjoy your videos however the introductions are very long and repetitive; it would be beneficial to learners to make youtube shorts of your videos too with the key takeaways that they can use for reference. I think short form content is perfect for technique demonstrations and gaining viewers as it tends to trend easier + is easier to share.
The advice is very practical and I hope this feedback is useful to you. All the best and thanks :)
