Don't be alarmed by the triangles, they are merely the latest variant of Geometric Solids that the Slaughter Valley government requests you keep in your home for safety purposes. Do not attempt to ingest or measure the angles of these triangles. In the event that your triangle becomes a quadrilateral, contact the emergency services at once.

I work for a financial institution that's often named in scam emails.
If I decide to scambait, when I'm tired of stringing them along, I ask for their "corporate ID number" (we use a different name for it). Every employee knows their number, and they are freely exchanged within the company.
Of course, the scammers don't have the right number - they don't even know the proper name for the number. Usually they drop me as soon as I ask, but sometimes they try to b.s. me.
The company also does scam training, so I'm pretty good at spotting scams. I'm still very careful, as I could be caught in a weak moment, as could anyone.

Hi shrimp, a while back I almost got scammed and I attribute the "almost" part solely to you. The FAQ segments you stubbornly insert into your videos taught me humility and helped to eradicate the mindsets of "You only get scammed when you're dishonest" or "only dumb people get scammed". Thanks to that, as soon as I realised something was suspicious I sprung into action and called my bank to block my account, something I might not have done if I was too proud to think I could get scammed
In the end I didn't lose a single cent but my phone number gets a ridiculous amount of spam now. Another reminder that even someone who watches your videos religiously and really should know better is susceptible to getting scammed

@@phase7058 I was a bit tight on money so I wanted to sell some of my own stuff online. I used a platform I had an account on but which I haven't touched for years so I assumed there would be some changes
I got a private message with legit looking screenshots about how apparently an interested person couldn't buy the item because my account wasn't verified. From there it was a phishing scam aiming to get my banking information (which made sense to me at the time, you need to enter your bank account in the info on the website so you could be transferred money, right? So I thought it was just your regular verification process
I could have been more careful. I should have been. But I'm thankful that I recognised something was wrong pretty much immediately after entering my details and knew I wasn't "too smart" to fall for a scam
Am I old? No, I'm 23. Am I not tech savy? No. Was I trying to be dishonest or believed a situation that was "too good to be true"? No, it was completely normal and rational
Am I "naive" or "stupid" for falling for it? Perhaps. But I'd much rather live with that knowledge than with an empty bank account

There have been a few of these scams where they try to instil a panic by saying that some dodgy geezer has come into the bank trying to claim the non-existent winnings. Having scambaited a bit myself, usually you get one of two outcomes.
1: They are reading their replies, see that you didn’t respond with concerned confusion, and immediately toss you out.
2: They don’t read their replies, and the fact that you responded at all is enough to get an automated “Okay great! Now please provide all information so that we can secure your funds.” If you continue to insist they give the money, they just give up.

About the 'programming other people with your words'
The first job I ever had, when I was desperate and fresh out of school, was a door-to-door signing people up for monthly direct debits to charity.
My boss was one of those people that believed you could word-trick people into decisions.
His trick was to ask lots of questions which the person had to answer yes to, then ask them to sign up directly after so they said yes to that too.
    Like:
    "You like wildlife?"
    "Yes"
"You want to save the world?"
    "Yes"
"You want to save endangered species?"
    "yes"
"You want to sign up £6.99 a month to the WWF?"
And they were supposed to say yes to that too.
Of course it hardly ever worked and the only way he made money was by having 30 people under him signing people up and taking 50% of the commission that the WWF paid them.
In 2 weeks of work I managed to sign up 2 people, for which I saw about £25 of commission.

I know that these scam emails so often contain nonsensical setups, but there was something that particularly tickled me about the duo of fictitious scammers trying to use a power of attorney that the actual scammer "warned" you about. At least in the U.S. (and I think pretty much everywhere else as well) a power of attorney is automatically voided when the grantor dies. It would be self-defeating for the fictitious scammers to claim you were dead and make a claim about having a power of attorney.
Also, the whole triangles in the food thing seemed like it could have been ripped from the Slaughterhamshire news.

You are personally my favorite scam baiter, you are very honest about what happens with your attempts and are ironically very kind in the baiting. Now days it seems like most scam baiters like to ridicule or put the scammers on blast, fuck even doxing! Or just outright fake it. So your videos are just very refreshing.

Wondering if it's worth making some kind of "Personal details you should never share with a stranger on the internet" zip attachment to use as a hook? It could include some fake but plausable financial mumbo jumbo about the nonsense topic you intend to confuse the scammer with, to try to make your nonsense questions seem more plausable?
So, like you include some fake personal details directly in the email; they can access the rest reasonably easy by opening an attached file; the file also contains some bait, such as a "bank details" file or somthing that will excite the scammer; but the "rabbit hole" stuff is mostly random or ai generated nonsence; then you can include some stuff about the nonsense you want to ask the scammer about?
