Pretty darn smooth sounding for a SM57. Maybe that was the first 30 seconds. Overall great levels.

Laney was good enough for Lord Iommi so it should be enough for all of us

Well, tbf, this ain't just any old Laney. It appears to have been modded by Blackhawk Amps. \m/

Man, this sounds great, as usual. Do you know what mods he made? You mention the presence and resonance knobs, are there others?
I’ve been obsessing over Laney circuits and was thinking about getting a Ceriatone Supergroup clone to tinker with.

@@jdizzlies this is copied directly from Blackhawk's video description:
These post 2004 LANEY VH100R amps are already pretty awesome but they're even better with BLACKHAWK modifications.
This amp is perfect for ANY genre. Personally I love it for Death Metal, Doom, Shoegaze and heavy psyche.
      •Custom carved BLACKHAWK logo badge.
•Swapping preamp capacitors for added clarity, tightness and frequency response tuning.
•Preamp rebiasing and tuning for increased harmonic content.
•Tone stack adjustments for increased effectiveness.
•Bias testing resistors added for no longer needing a custom probe.
•NFB adjustment for added tightness, bass and power section responsiveness.
•Presence frequency adjusted for non-icepick, high mid usable frequency.
•Resonance switch (which is just a negative feedback amount switch) replaced with an actual Resonance Control to add massive low end drive to the power section.
(Hint, if you want tighter response but to still have big low end, turn down the bass and turn up the resonance. Let the power section do the heavy lifting)

@ It sounds nuts. Instead of doing my job, I’ve been looking at schematics…

@jdizzlies there's a rabbit hole I'm trying to avoid personally lol!
