World number ones the United States won their first Olympic gold medal in women's indoor volleyball by beating Brazil in three straight sets 25-21 25-20 25-14. Brazil claimed silver after missing out on the podium at their home Games at Rio 2016.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games took place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

Nah, Brazil had a lot of unforced errors. Tandara was a huge loss to their team and Rosamaria wasn't that efficient as replacement.

I know nothing about pro volleyball but I randomly tuned into Brazil vs Korea during the pool stages. I saw one spike from Gabi and decided this was the team I was going to follow throughout! What a beautiful journey it has been. Congrats to them for clinching Silver and of course to the USA who was just the better team that day!
It's amazing, Gabi has a tiny frame yet spikes with power. She is cute thou.

@@davccouceiro Couldn't agree more. I watched the game in the stadium. It was the match between USSR's best player, Antonov and the world's best, Kiraly. And Kiraly clearly outplayed Antonov, not only offensively, but also defensively. Karch blocked Antonov's spike twice. After that, the game was virtually over.
The extra incredible thing about this match is that this was the Gold medal that put the whole US Olympic team ahead of the Chinese for total golds in Tokyo! Well done!

Eu fiquei tão orgulhoso tanto pelas brasileiras quanto pelas norte americanas, elas mereciam tanto essa medalha, lutam desde 2008, e enfim chegou o grande momento, não tem preço ver a felicidade de Larson e Akin, duas lendas que sempre respeitaram o Brasil como time. Foi Incrível. Poultry as a setter has alit of work to do. She can't set middles, side, back 3 meter. Then most setting was done by libero, Jordan and Michelle.

@@lilnbigman Poulter has improved a lot as the tournament progresses. Despite her shortcomings she was able to give excellent sets. She has the feel on what works on her offensive players. Her decision making is also very commendable. She's still young and she'll definitely be a threat in the coming years.

Verdade, a seleção dos EUA já tinham sido medalha de Prata no Vôlei Feminino 3 vezes, Los Angeles 84, Beijing 2008 e Londres 2012. E também Bronze em Barcelona 92 e no Rio 2016

For a long time, European and Asia dominated Volleyball winning Olympic gold Medals and World championships. Cuba was the only country in the Americas that was dominant.

Olha, geralmente é isso mesmo.... mas dessa vez aí, claramente as americanas foram extremamente superiores.... a impressão que dava era que Brasil virou uma Coreia do Sul nas mãos das americanas.... em todos os 3 sets elas fecharam com folga. Não foi nada muito acirrado. Os comentaristas brasileiros disseram que enquanto as americanas estavam descontraídas, as brasileiras estavam tensas. E nessas horas, o psicológico boicota muito. Nessa noite o Brasil virou um time muito inferior, que não tinha como comparar com a implacável seleção dos EUA.

Brazil took some hits with Tandara's situation and Macris injury, but they still got into the finals even when no one believed in them.
USA was definitely better and deserved the gold, but I'm so proud of the brazilian girls for pushing through everything, can't wait for Paris!
@@LIGHT-xj2qg you don't seem to be a spectator who follows volleyball and you were certainly upset because your team ended up losing to Brazil. But the Brazilian women's volleyball team is known worldwide and is two-time Olympic champion, you're not talking about amateur players, but about a team that has technique and that managed to qualify to compete in the Olympics. It has not yet been confirmed whether the player Tandara actually used doping and even if this is confirmed, this isolated case does not erase the countless victories that the brazilian team has already won in 2008 and 2012, and it also does not erase the efforts of other players who were not caught in doping and who struggled and played honestly to the final, even having to deal with all these problems that came up.
If your team didn't play well in the Olympics to the point of qualifying for a final, it wasn't because of Tandara's doping accusation, but because they didn't play well, even because Tandara is a Brazilian player and not a player from your country.

O melhor time de vôlei feminino dos EUA que eu vi jogar. Ganhou a medalha de ouro merecidamente.
Foi merecidamente, mas não concordo que é a melhor seleção. A Seleção americana de 2012 foi muito melhor do que essa. Eu não curto teoria da conspiração, mas achei essa vitória americana estranha. Dá a impressão que o Brasil deixou elas vencerem. Brasil não perdeu nenhum jogo antes da final, achei que as meninas iam ficar abaladas com a saída da Tandara, mas mesmo assim atropelaram a Coréia na Semifinal, chegaram à final invictas, mas na hora de jogar apresentaram um volume de jogo MUITO inferior aos jogos anteriores. Pareciam que estavam brincando. Em nenhum momento do jogo pareciam estar angustiadas por estar perdendo, muito calmas o tempo todo. E quando o jogo acabou pareciam tranquilas demais. A seleção dos EUA não foi tão impressionante, perderam de 3 a 0 para as russas, que depois foram derrotadas pelo Brasil. Não tenho certeza de nada, mas achei que as americanas venceram fácil demais essa final contra o Brasil.
