can you share your settings on steam deck? Even on low settings my steam deck is struggling in city areas. Also I have run into a bug on the deck where the game runs a few times after install but after the 4th of 5th time, it just loads up into a black screen. The vram and ram usage almost maxes out on my steam deck. The only way I have been able to fix the issue is to delete the proton and essentially start from scratch, at which point I have to download 132 gb of data to get the game going again.
It works quite nicely out of the box. It does have a couple of issues. I have had problems with using the virtual keyboard (which only works in game mode) and saving a game locally (which only works in desktop mode).
Personally I’d recommend SimRail if you want a good sim on steam deck MFS works fine but it’s just so awkward unless you plug a mouse in a lot of buttons and twisty knobs which makes it just a awkward frustrating experience on deck with a mouse pad.
what version of msfs are you using im interested and also want to play on steam deck but im nervous of how the controls will respond and work did you have to tweak any controls settings?
Watch in HDR if you can.
I’ve only ever played Microsoft Flight Simulator via Game Pass, so it was nice to have a version locally installed.
I could imagine myself playing this one an actual plane trip🗿
God im broke asf
XP12 gives about the same FPS. Aerofly FS4 works beautifully and has a simpleness to it perfect for steam deck.
are you playing this on the steam deck os or windows?
it works directly with SteamOS. I 've just installed and play
Do you buy the game from steam and install on your steam deck and then play and it works?@@NamAir

Install it to the internal SSD. I found that helped!
Is there a way to switch out of dx12 on msfs 2020 on the steam deck? I cant even open the game with dx12
Don’t know but put -dx12 in launch options bar under game properties-general and see
It can play on steam OS on the valve device?
It works on the Steam Deck! Use Proton Experimental.
Is it worth buying if you only want to play it on steam deck? What did you have to do in order to get it to work?

I bought the regular edition. The controls are okay. I only had to tweak the menu button to access autopilot etc.
Can you try to get 40-60 fps?
If you’re above the clouds around sunrise/sunset then it’s easy.
install on SteamOS or Windows ?
If you have good specs, Windows.
i install FS2020 on Steck Deck with Windows 10. But my question, what did they install and play it on? @@ZaffsProductions
