I lived in the Central Valley for a while and met an ex-cop who was apart of the team who helped transfer Manson out of the Corcoran prison.
He described the transfer as "military like" where the cops were armed and lined up, ready to react if Manson made any sudden movements. His job was very simple: open the door so Manson could get into the car. In those few seconds where Manson and him were within proximity their eyes met, and he described Manson's eyes as, "Empty, nothing was in there, absolutely no emotion or feelings at all." In his 20+ years of being a cop he said those were the most terrifying 5 seconds of his life.

Man, he must've been the world's sh•ttiest 👮‍♂️ to be "terrified" of the only guy to _ever_ get a murder conviction & life sentence _even though_ it's a *fact* and common knowledge that he has *never* actually killed anybody‼️💀😭🤣

There's a lot I don't like about John Lennon, but as riving these murders to his influence is flat out silly, isn't it?
They were totally delusional interpretations of lyrics! Only someone in a severely altered mental state could believe "Helter Skelter" was about inciting an apocalyptic race war.

Abigail didn't assume Susan was a guest, the family entered the house at about midnight and Folger wasn't an idiot. She knew no one else was meant to be in the house. Abigail, Sharon and Jay were all forced quite violently out into the living room from their bedrooms. I've never heard of Abigail smiling at Susan and thinking she was a guest.

@@MrTripletts Of course not, but based on the official sequence of events and testimonies of the witnesses (those being the killers, obviously) we can be fairly certain that Abigail never smiled at Susan. She never even encountered her until all of the residents were being moved very aggressively into the living room, so I seriously doubt Abigail would smile pleasantly at her. We know it was aggressive because in the testimony it was stated (i believe by all three killers) that the reason Jay Sebring was shot was because he confronted Tex about how Sharon was being treated, since she was pregnant. Apparently they were pushing her around a bit.

There is one late interview where someone asks Charles Manson who he really is,
And he runs through this weird, abrupt, manic pantomime of all kinds of exaggerated facial expressions finally ending by abruptly stopping and whispering "nobody" with a very sad expression.
I think that brief exchange is probably the most honest he ever was with the public.
    Deep, deep down,
Charles Manson always knew he was Nobody.

@@xeno4560 It's not like it was good fame.
He wasn't famous for his music, the way he had hoped...it was only the passing novelty of a moment that a few performers used for shock value.
He didn't become financially successful in any way that benefited him.
He wasn't an influential leader of anyone but very lost people who were easy to persuade
,and when it came to his "family" he needed to provide a lot of drugs and isolate them to establish influence over them, which doesn't speak much for his actual, in-person charisma or leadership qualities.
And he did nothing good for them ...he just ruined their lives. He made them like himself.
He wasn't even famous for a murder personally....
he was a physical coward who literally sent young women who were barely even adults to go risk being hurt, killed or arrested and he himself stayed behind like a scared mouse.
He didn't even achieve his grotesque goal of triggering a broad interracial crisis. Not even close.
In the end, he was just a tired old man, scared to be released, clinging to his crazy persona because it kept him safely behind bars, and at least netted him some attention. But even he knew he was pathetically playing an empty role.
There was, honestly, nothing in his life to make him feel genuinely proud or important or even useful in any practical way...he wasn't even a help to himself....he was a catastrophic failure in every way, and he knew it.
He knew and felt it far more intensely than someone raised with at least a little love would have felt it.
He never really rose above feeling like the abysmal, worthless nothing his childhood made him believe he was....he just fulfilled that message.

He thought Terry Melcher son of Doris Day still lived there. Supposedly he and Dennis Wilson wrote a few songs and Dennis changed them up and he went uncredited and Terry Melcher was producer or something. It was “Never learn not to love” on The Beach Boys 20/20 album. Tate wasn’t who he intended to have killed. He didn’t know Melcher sold the house.

Charles Manson's father was NOT named William. His name was Walker Henderson Scott. Aka Colonel Scott. However, she met a man with the last name Manson, and Charlie adopted that name. His biological father though, is not named William. Colonel Scott is Charlie's dad, and he passed in 1954.

While the Beatles were obviously not in anyway responsible for the Tate/LaBianca murders, I agree with you. Yoko especially came off as being cold and heartless. She has shown that many times throughout her relationship with John Lennon and long after his death. It's weird how she initiated the analogy of the knives, especially given the circumstances.
