The fact that Keith has never been found on the moors and his poor mother never gave up on finding him makes me sad.
Yeah even after so many decades young Keith's body was still not found and his own poor mother Winnie is still looking for him is just tragic. I and many other people hope that she will find her son and bury him properly with all the other victims of the evil couple and that Winnie can finally live out her final years in peace knowing that she found him.
@@jacobhouse1521 Winnie Johnson, Keiths mom, died in 2011. Sadly never finding her son, never getting that closure.
@@Descina Thank you @Amanda for your comment and yes it's tragic she died 10 years ago without finding her son.😭
But still I hope that his remains will be found in the Moors.⚰
@@jacobhouse1521 from what I read Brady told Alan, Keiths brother that in his will is the location of Keith, but he will only get it when he dies. So far, he made multiple wills, nothing, but hopefully soon.
Agree, he was never going to release that information because he got off on committing the 'perfect murder'
So devastating that Keith was never found his mum never got to say goodbye 😞
I think you guys need to do one on the cow mutilations of Idaho during the 1970's it's very unsettling
Would be neat but it wasn’t just Idaho it was Oregon and another state and there are new records of it happening again since 1975
I hate when people make excuses for, or act like the female in these killer couples are some how not as guilty as the males. Often saying they were under some sort of spell by the male, or that they wouldn’t have committed any crimes if it wasn’t for the male. Thats just BS.
That’s not true though, the motive in most serial killer couples is the dudes sex drive. I honestly cant think of a case where that isn’t true.
At 4:19 is my favourite car of all time. The Ford Cortina MK1
I came here hoping that there was up to date information on Keith but it looks like till this day his body still hasn’t been found that’s absolutely dreadful his mother never got the closure she deserved at least she’s with her son again God bless them and all the children who’s lives were taken
I don't know why but couples who are murderers always seem to disturb me more.
right? like seriously
I think its cuz when it’s one person, it’s only one brutal person, but when it’s 2, they both somehow have both brutal minds and meet each other which is just horrific, to then go murder many people. Idk.
Its a weird messed up type of love
How do you even bring that up to someone. Like hey you know what would be fun......... killing a child.
@@itsliterallybeenoneday When both of you are crazy it isnt a big deal
I feel so bad for everyone who had to listen to the audio of Leslie-Ann. Not as bad as I feel for all the poor kids of course.
When a case is that grusome, typically people in the court recieve therapy afterward because of how traumatizing it is.
I am kinda curious if it is still available. I would say may be not but still kinda curious to find it. I don't want folks getting wrong idea about why I asked. I am asking because I personally want to put myself in this exact picture to truly see how fucked up it all is. I always want to put my shoes in the victim's shoes and try to imagine just that experience. It will be hard to but it's a sense of remorse for the victim rather than being looked at like I'm a damn psycho.
@@DragonKiller-nw2ju They have never released it to the public, ever. Almost used a snippet of it in a documentary with permission from Lesley-Ann's mother, but it was still deemed too traumatizing for the general public to have access to. I think you can find a transcript of it somewhere, but Idk
@@EvaL-ti2jd Welp, thanks for letting me know. I can see why the mother wouldn't want to release that. I also respect that choice also.
@@DragonKiller-nw2ju there's a transcript available from one of the victims of the toolbox killers. IIRC the actual tape was used to train people to work for the FBI or something similar. Basically if you could listen to the tape without getting traumatised you could do the job. That transcript is readily available with a quick Google search, perhaps the same is true in this case. But be careful, people have been traumatised just from reading transcripts of these things, let alone hearing the tapes.
If you want another killer couple option, please consider doing Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. Absolutely messed up people. As Canadians, we think it’s horrifying that she killed her own sister and two other girls and she’s out free.
yeah and she even got married to her own lawyer who defended her in court (wtf!!!) and they have 2 kids. Absolutely disgraceful. There's a FB group that watches her movements and warns everyone about her presence, so hopefully she never lives her life in peace.
i’m canadian and i’ve never heard of this, where does this take place?
@@hyunjinsamericano2650 St Catharines (in the niagara region) and Burlington, ON during the 1990’s
That was an awful awful story. I can't believe people are so psychotic.
If you don’t want to wait for Buzzfeed to do a video on them, True Crime Recaps has came out with a video not too long ago.
The fact they never found Keith is heartbreaking, especially the absolute desperation to persuade Brady to tell them where Keith was when he was dying, to no avail
I remember often seeing his mother on TV when I was a teenager in the 80s. It was heartbreaking. Brady kept her dangling for years saying he could find the grave, all so he could briefly leave the hospital/prison and get some more notoriety. He was a vile man. He taunted that poor women with saying he’d give her directions to his burial with instructions in his will.
@@jaybee4118 from what I heard, the hospital/police wouldn’t let him out to show them where he was buried. Idk if he would’ve done it but I’ve heard that a bit.
@@senoritalethargy He was taken back to the moors in 1987 after Pauline was found as he said he would show where Keith was buried. Of course he didn’t. I’ve seen interviews with police who were present and they think he knew where Keith’s body is and probably either walked near it or could see it but as it was his last bit of control he had no intention of giving it up. It was just a ruse for him to have one last visit to the moors.
@@justoheaghra1317 I think this was after Myra died. At least that’s when he said it.
@@jaybee4118 I recall seeing her during the 90s and 2000s too all the way up to her passing. It was heartbreaking that she never got the truth..
It's heartbreaking that Keith wasn't found before his mom died.
The fact that neither of them revealed the grave site of the final victim is sickening x
They probably couldn’t remember. It was 20 years and the moors are bleak and it’s really hard to tell one area from another. It’s not that different to a desert really. I’ve been lost on the UK moor I grew up very close to more than once, it’s not hard to get lost! And he was the worst one, he dangled the burial site over Keith’s mother’s head. He was taken out to find the body more than once, never found it. He sent a letter to her saying he’d leave the directions in his will. He was pure evil and I don’t use that term often!
@@jaybee4118 I would definitely agree with you! It's confusing enough driving through the Yorkshire Moors, never mind walking them. And yes, there are very few people I would call evil but he is definitely top of the list x
I think they tried looking for it but couldn't find it. The other graves were easier as they had photographs and landmarks which help remembering. Such a tragedy.
@@mikerope5785 Yeah. He held on to it as a bargaining chip for decades, but I do bet he did that cos he forgot the location. X
@@mikerope5785 The others were found before the 2 were in prison. they had photos etc.... and had an idea where to look. but the ground on the moors shifts and there a lot of water so 20 years later when Brady tried to help find them, he ws disorientated - the ground had chagned so much and he had been in a jail cell for years. Even iwth the best will in the world he problaby could not find the grave
the part about the little girl almost made me cry. that’s horrible. that’s so horrible.
The audio has never been released. The transcript has partially been released. Awful
Tough cops who listened to it were in tears or had to leave the room.

Driven over it many a time. Still feels haunted x
Disgusting that they lived this long.

The peat on the moors moved over time so when they went back up for searches, the body of Keith had shifted under the ground from where he was originally buried.
I've lived in that area since I was born and was only told about this during high school. We'd walk on the moors at school every year for a sponsored hike. Chilling to think that Brady was still alive at that time and that poor Keith was buried somewhere around us.
I’m sure she was abused in some way or another. Still does not excuse her for the actions.

This is the most wicked and horrific crime in Britain in my opinion other than the John venables murder
Fred and Rosemary West are also...extremely horrific.
@@WinterHalloweenRose went to where the west house was when I was younger and it’s still as horrific without the house being there
These people are good faces for the advocacy of the death sentence.
Yyyep.
yeah but then you learn about the innocent people wrongly convicted and put on death row.
@@victorrestrepo5633 which I am really saddened by. But if it is without a single doubt that the people did the incredibly heinous crime... they should be executed. If there is doubt, even a shred, the death penalty shouldn't be on the table.
intrestingly the death penalty hadent been abolished for long in England when they're crimes where exposed, and many people campaigned for it to be reinstated for them. If it makes you feel better though, the two of them suffered right up to the end.
Knowing there's still at least one person out there, I always have a vague sense of dread driving over saddleworth moor. Despite being local my whole life, the feeling of it being a Bad place never left. I remember my dad once picking up a hitchhiker, on a back road in the rain, when I was abt 13 and being terrified she was gonna try hurt us (even though it was 2011 and she was clearly a German tourist)
I hate going over the Moor aswell. Just creeps me tf out
It's awful to think that keith was never found. I'm from Manchester but moved. We drive through the Moores whenever i go back to Manchester to see family. You really don't realise how large the Moores are until you see them with your own eyes. They deserved so much worse than just imprisonment
These two individuals were so sick & disturbed!! I cannot understand how people can be so evil?! The crimes they had committed were absolutely horrific!! They literally make me me sick to my stomach 🤮🤮 and so screwed up on many, many different levels!!
They possibly suffered from something called folley a Deux (not sure on spelling!) I was watching a documentary on Crime + Investigation which covered them in an episode on one of their docs. They came together and sharing similar interests it apparently led to them commiting these heinous crimes!! I remember my old art history tutor told me it was possible the artist Lowry may have known these two!?! Now that's also really creepy!!
@@sjmsutherland Yes that is very creepy!! But they sicken me!!
@@vampirequeen953 they sicken me too.....glad they are both gone!!
@@sjmsutherland Exactly!! I really wonder @ times what goes through a individuals mind?! They truly were some vile freaks!!
The thing is, you can't understand what runs through their minds. People aren't always black and white. What you see on the outside of a person is sometimes different from the inside. When it comes these "evil people," you don't know what actually goes on in their minds. Of course, you can't understand how people can be evil because there are many factors that plays into their thoughts. It's just a honest fact.
Thank you for not playing the audio recording of what they did.
no-one can listen to it as it's a part of police evidence. The tape has only ever been played in court to the jury and to the lawyers and never distributed. To do so would rob the victims of their dignity.
@@mikerope5785 also because the victim was a child they will never release the tape to the public
It's scary to think that Keith was on my street where I grew up before he got kidnapped...
For everyone who is going to ask Ryan and Shane have their own channel called Watcher😌
I want them here.
I had no idea, thanks for sharing
23 thank you
I was wondering where they went
Even though I've seen that channel and the content just isn't as good
Hearing about what they did to the little girl Rorschach's quote came to mind. "Men get arrested, Dogs get put down"
I read that, while she was in prison, Hindley had a relationship with Britain’s other female monster, Rosemary West. The skin crawls imaging the stories they told each other.
That should never have been allowed to happen.
Living in the north west of England, these two were always part of the cultural landscape, like a real life bogeyman & woman. Absolutely evil, an utterly despicable pair. Words cannot do justice to how vile these two were.
Just think we have probably drove over a grave
For anyone wondering. 30th September 2022. Kieths remains possible find.
pretty much the only reason they got caught: brady killed the last boy infront of hindleys sisters brother as he didn't believe brady, and after he saw brady kill the guy he told the police and yeah
Ian Brady and Myra Hindley will haunt my nightmares forever. If you want a real deep dive into this case, Morbid: A True Crime Podcast did a great job!
Lucky for Brady I wasn't his guard,
Him "I'm going on a hunger strike"
Me "Good, let me help you by locking you in a deep hole"
*** Two weeks later***
Him "I'd like to come off my hunger strike please"
Me "oh you almost had me... Here we will keep you going, when you get near I'll get you a tape recorder put food outside your cell and we will see what your final words come out as"
I live so close to the moors, its eerie knowing what went off there
My mum grew up in Manchester, born in 63, so to think she could've been a victim absolutely terrifies me.
They were arrested in 19 sixty five so a little bit unlikely hmmm
In prison she became a Born-Again Christian. Yeah, don't they all?
There was also a painting done by Marcus Harvey of Hindley, that was painted using handprints of kids. It was controversial, and caused an uproar, and that was in the late 2000's, so these murders still haunt, and upset the people of the UK after all these years.
Had contact with young boys in 2019 but died in 2017... huh?
I read about these two when I was still quite young. I've haven't been able to listen to Little Drummer Boy since.
Suffer Little Children is the heaviest song I’ve heard
Yup, I love the Smiths, they make the best music Ive ever heard
My Grandad knew a guy who knew Ian Brady back in the day, its crazy.
I just finished listening to the 5 chapter series of this on the Case Files podcast. I thought I'd have time to decompress, but I obviously have to watch this now😫
Myra Hindley was just as evil as Ian. Its such a shame that the death penalty was abolished just a few months prior to their trial and sentencing. They both deserved death. The pain and grief they caused the poor families of the victims is heart breaking
Actually I think she was the worse of the two
where was the content warning for this video that the West video had? imo this one deserved it as well
They should bring back the torture method
i honestly think if these monsters are gonna get the death penalty, they shouldn’t just go out with a simple injection. they’re so evil, they deserve to be killed the same way that they killed their victims.
Are you guys ever going to do more eps on Cryptids?
She sounds lovely, but where is that deep baritone voice at? His is a more fitted voice to this kind of narration tho. Please bring him back.
There's an excellent HBO film, directed by Tom Hooper and starring Jim Broadbent and Samantha Morton, on this subject. It's called "Longford" and is primarily about Myra's years in jail after being convicted, and how she continued being manipulative and cunning, despite the sincere efforts of a reformist politician (Broadbent) to find humanity in her.
Samantha Morton plays Myra, and Andy Serkis is blood-chilling as Ian Brady. His performance is phenomenal. A great film worth watching if you come across it.
Wait. Didn’t you already do this video before??? I swear I watched it not too long ago
2:02 Who’s Findley?
Also John Kilbride was number 2
If anyone wants a much better description of the case that goes in depth and actually properly handles the case they should listen to A Morbid Podcast's episodes on them. Hindley is just as unforgivable as Brady and the excuses made for her behavior and involvement is just wrong.
A man who abuses children is a monster but a woman doing it is behond dispicable
Excellent story telling but gut wrenching, especially as a mom
If anyone is interested, Morbid Podcast has a great 4 part series on this. It goes into great detail about Myra and Ian’s childhood, how they met, their victims lives and deaths, how the victims families tried looking for them, how the two were caught, and their lives in prison. It really lets you know the ins and outs of their lives and their crimes. It’s very dark but very interesting
i’ve recently just gotten into that podcast, now it’s definitely my go-to podcast! they’re very good at giving detailed backstories
It really was such a one-in-a-million coincidence that brought those two together. Turned up at a new job and there he was, but more than that, the only reason he ever went to England from Glasgow was because the Scottish courts effectively gave up on his repeat offending and banished him to his real mother in Manchester.
There are no respectable psychologists or criminal profilers who believe she would have done what she did without meeting Brady. Yes, she was a tough working-class Mancunian bird who took no nonsense, yes she sought excitement, she was manipulative and cold-hearted, but she probably wouldn't have done that. She might very well have married a local hardman or gangster but she probably wouldn't have been harming kids.
@@halfbakedproductions7887 She took to a man who murdered children. Do you have a low opinion of women? Yes, there is a shade of grey, but that's often what crime is. You can never morally reconcile wanting to do that with being innocent.

Brady's incorrigible post-incarceration behavior testifies to the weakness of the terms of his punishment. It's the sort of behavior that death-penalty advocates can jump all over to prove their point. (Yes, I am aware that there's far more to it than that; I'm just playing Devil's Advocate.)

How anyone could be so cruel and horrible to children is beyond me, these people are truly monsters. Utterly sickening.
I think there are some problems with the presentation of these. I think the murderers should be less emphasised and instead the victims. I also think that describing the torture of these children was not wise, as some depraved people might actually watch these videos for that. Terrible shame they got rid of the death penalty just a few years before catching these freaks.
They should have been excucuted. Hindley and brady bastards
i watched the british series about this, see no evil: the moors murders, starring joanne froggatt as maureen smith, myra hindley’s sister, and this video doesn’t talk about it as much, but the couple also ruined the smith’s family and life. for a while, the police were convinced david smith had committed edward’s murder, which was spurred on by brady and hindley denying their own involvement. later, evidence came to light that brady had actually been to blame for this and the other murders, but the publicity of the scandal ruined david and maureen smiths’ reputations, even tho they were innocent. their family life was torn apart and they were separated on several occasions bc of the stress of public hate towards them and the case. brady and hindley ruined their lives as well as destroying the lives of all their innocent victims and their families. this is a very well made video though for discussing the case in general
David Smith was a hero. If it wasn't for him many more children would have been murdered. RIP David Smith.
Where’s Unsolved at man?!
If you mean Shane and Ryan, they're running their own channel called Watcher now, so idk if buzzfeed have the rights to unsolved anymore
@@georgiagriggs4728 afaik they’re still doing unsolved videos on this channel and running watcher at the same time
@@hisashin14 I've not heard anything either way tbh, suppose it just depends how long they're contractually obliged to keep going with unsolved
You grew up faster in those days. Hindley was young, her sister was in her teens, married and had children. You went out to work after high school sometimes before finishing high school. Women did not wear slacks or jeans.
Yes, we DID wear 'slacks and jeans.' It was the 1960s, NOT the 1860s! Saying that, we were not infantile like todays young (or even older) people.
