I enjoyed the show, great tips! I'm planting daylillies this year, rescued several in 6" pots, on the end of summer plant sale. We live in Eastern Wa and live ontop of a mountain at 3700fy. It's a douglas fir and pine forrest/ sagebrush steep with rocky clay soil. We have hard deep freezing winters, long cool springs, and short mild summers. We are learning what will and won't grow on this property we bought 2 years ago.

I just planted a “Bela Lugosi” daylily from Breck’s today. It’s described as dark blue-violet in color.
I will see next year if it is really blue!
I planted it in with some native orange daylilies which have been here since we bought the place a decade ago, and some stella d’Oros which I planted 2 months ago. I think the yellow-orange-blue/violet should be an exciting combination. There’s a nest of ground-dwelling bees in there, which are a mixed blessing.

    Great presentation!
I grow a lot more flowers than fruits & vegetables myself. We have lots of “truck farms” around here in NW Connecticut, as well.

Too much BS going on, Ms. Petcoff has a lot of experience to share, but Bud wants to be too sarcastic, it interrupts the education.

I've seen a couple episodes now, and I really like the content of hearing a really experienced gardener talk about one or two plants, but the host really gets in the way, always interjecting what is supposed to be funny, but it's not and is a bit disrespectful to the person talking. Let them talk!!
