Alaska Zoo Polar Bear Cranbeary Takes a Dive!

Zookeeper Katie Cahalane was there to capture these moments as Cranbeary geared up to take a dive in her pool! There are few things more graceful than a polar bear swimming. These marine mammals are capable of swimming continuously for long distances over 60 miles in the open ocean! While they are capable of such amazing feats, their survival depends on the presence of sea ice from which they hunt their primary prey, seals.
