When i was watching it before playing mage i thought "resisted? not a big deal" now i realize it SUCKS and screws a pull. Another thing is that how you control the ranged mob and i also were thinking it's not a trouble - just do your job, IT'S A DISASTER HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PLAY WHEN AN ARCHER HITS ME FROM FAR AWAY. Sry for caps and butthurting, i came here to say that i understimated mages. It's not that easy as i imagined it before, but i still find this method the easiest and the best farming method comparing to other classes and you have mastered this technique: controlling mp5, positioning, leeway, etc - you are good

I have used this video for 3 years every single year. I have it pretty much memorized but I still like to come back and use it as a reference!
I followed this guide as a first time WoW player leveling in HC with Dungeons. Once I made it past lvl 34 (died to the Arathi Orcs pull), I went all the way to 57 but died to WiFi going down. Still the HC AOE farming journey was some the most fun I’ve ever had in gaming thanks to this guide and its DnB
That's why I hesitate leveling like that. Sure I do some aoe pulls here and there but if I quest it reduces the chance to insta death due to a dc. Dcd 2 times and once during a flightpath and the other time in a dungeon. If I was aoe leveling I would be in elwynn forest
i've been learning how to do aoe mage for the first time ever using this guide, and yes i'm doing it in hardcore, i'm crazy XD. Been through a few characters already but i always go back and make another one and start again and learn from each death. Honestly been really fun and prefer learning this way then just doing a vanilla character or something, the added stress helps a lot x)

Then found this video and decided to give it a go this bank holiday 5 day weekend (here in the UK). Man! 1-28 in just a day and a half of playtime!! That is the fastest I have ever ever done. I recently got my first level 60, a Human Pally and ffs that was the slowest thing I have ever done. Decided to multibox level a mage with my pally sitting behind giving Blessing of Wisdom and healing and man, easiest WoW leveling I have ever done lol. Hoping to get to 60 with less than 7 days played :D Thanks man!!!

I have this video playing in the background while I play classic wow, I am not even leveling as how it is shown because 1) I am horde, and 2) I am on a pvp server. Love the video all the same, L O V E the choice of music!
I know im super late to the party but I haven't seen anyone ask questions on which quests to gather on aoe leveling. Do you just quest gather and do them all at the same time like normal with aoe pulls or are you strictly gathering grinding quests?
Don't think there is a better mage aoe guide then this. Also the low level stuff looks super spicy for HC but I guess not a big time investment at that point.
How do you get the ticks to not be active at the same time shown at 12:40. I used the one you have but they both go at same time rather than one of the tick bars stopping with the other starts if that makes sense
wands are ridiculously overrated on mage for leveling i find, you should be able to roughly calculate how much mana you should spend per mob (generally with 1 resist worth of extra mana). You should usually be able to kill 2 mobs single target per 100%->0% mana until 18 and during aoe farming, 18-40, the only one worth mentioning is the duskwood worgen quest chain one due to its 1.2 speed allowing you to pull faster/more 30-40 with wand. once you got your mount, just get whatever hits hardest/has the most stats progression is bashal'aran wand -> blackwood corrupted wand -> wetland raptor wand -> duskwood worgen wand -> highest stats/dps random world drop
I have to disagree about a wand being overrated. They are fantastic early game! Wands used to suck but they were buffed after the 1.8 patch. Early game you need all the mana you can get for some of these pulls and they help out tremendously. Enchant yourself a lesser magic wand and it'll take you all the way to wetlands quest called omer's revenge that gives you a better wand. After that, they aren't really important as much for mage speedrunning.

It's nice, but I think it would be very hard to execute on a full or pvp server, where people compete for mobs and can just kill you mid pull.
not really hes low level in basically ally zones... its annoying for horde to get tto those spots and not worth it for them.

The lvl 5 Wand does so much dmg dude. Lvl 13 u get new Wand too.. but from AH
