I just accidentally watched this video. And wow, I 100% agree with you. I've been practicing and teaching martial arts (kyokushin, taekwondo, yunjungdo, bjj) since 1993 and have had very similar issues and experiences. Well made video, thanks for sharing.
Excellent and I love how you have transcended style v style. I am like a broken record with my students. Technique is endless, all styles are good, its either correct or not.
After executing this technique 1000s of times for me anyway I like to use Wally Jay's tightening method with Aikido' footwork and a Gracie finish devastating
Michael, thanks for the tutorial. Longtime Krav Maga practitioner. Along with kotegaeshi, I’ve also worked on nikyo wrist locks. Thoughts on those, or a possible video? Recent subscriber. BTW, in a combat situation I can definitely see someone letting go. Ouch.
The Koreans actually do it this way if you look at some of their self-defense techniques against label or wrist (single and double) grabs. Not all versions are like this, on some the angle is a little different, but most are taught this way.
This move works, regardless of what Ramsey Dewey says. It's how I won the 1vs2 Second Dan's handicap when I was Black Belt testing. You get the first attacker in a wrist lock and then keep his body between yourself and the second attacker until you kick the first guy over and over until he taps out. Then you beat the second attacker 1vs1. Easy!

Great video Sensie. Question please. What if someone makes a fist. Could you bend their wrist to a lock even then? Thank you!
@@AK_UK_ yes you could, however if you go todo any technique and it doesn’t work you must immediately move on to another one.
Thks !!

@@johnrobinson7036 I will be doing future videos addressing specific joint locks.

"If you do this right, it's a problem for him" :)
