- Inspired by the Korean beauty sheet masks, this solid gel mask delivers a blast of thirst-quenching hydration to skin. USDA Certified Organic Agar Agar is completely vegan from marine algae and holds all the wonderful active ingredients in a solid gel. This mask is cooling and refreshing leaving your skin feeling baby soft, hydrated and with a dewy glow!

Cucumber Facial Toner 0.9270 1 ¾ Cups 92.70%
Certified Organic Agar Agar powder 0.0116 1 Tbsp 1.16%
Argireline Peptide Solution 0.0603 2 Tbsp 6.03%
Phenoxyethanol 0.0011 1/8 Tsp 0.11%
Directions
1. Prep your sheet mask paper - we suggest wax paper but choose what works for you. Be sure you place your paper onto a surface with a lip so that when you pour the mask onto the paper, it has a border and doesn’t just flow all over your work surface. We used a small plate to create a round shape but, feel free to be creative in the shapes you make.
2. In a stove top safe pot or beaker mix together cucumber toner and Agar.
3. Bring to a boil stirring frequently. Be careful not to let the Agar Agar settle at the bottom as it will scorch. Boil for 2 -3 minutes to fully hydrate the Agar Agar.
4. Remove from heat and add the Argireline Peptide Solution and Phenoxyethanol and stir well.
5. Pour your mask onto your prepped sheet paper. You will pour approximately ¼ - ½ ounce. Be sure not to pour your mask too thick or it will not remain in one piece. Your mask should be about ¼ centimeter thick for a full facial mask. You could certainly pour more if you just wanted to make eye gels.
6. Let masks cool and solidify before packaging them up.
7. Use anytime for a burst of hydration!

Please consider creating a video on DIY hydrojelly masks 😍
Could you please tell me what a hydrojelly mask is? Thank you ahead of time.
Genesis T . I would like a powder one that could be mixed up just before use.
This is very helpful
Why added phenoxyethanol during your heat phase, has it survived?
Love your video!!
I have question about hydrogel mask.
I can use agar gel strength800?
Because i use agar 5% ..it crack.😊How can i slove this problem?
Hello! I saw your other video where you make hydrogels using Gelatin. My question is, what is the difference between using Agar vs. using Gelatin? Does the gelatin act as a hydrogel by absorbing the active ingredient and the Agar doesn't and its just a solid mask? Or what's the difference? Thank you for your video
There is a few differences, agar agar is plant based and has a natural moisturizing factor. It cannot be as easily reset multiple times (without having a thickening agent maybe but haven't seen many examples...where gelatin can and is usually made from animals. Agar agar doesn't keep as long as gelatin without preservatives. They both have less than week shelf life usually but it varies? Gelatin is basically cooked collagen, it does soften skin topically but that's about it. Collagen is best for beauty when being ingested. You can Google topical vs orally? Hopefully that helps....just a few things from making diy face masks at home
@@areljohnson1 thank you so much ❤️
I do carry the face mask mould where you can set it without the need to cut the eyes, nose and mouth.
Alicia Jade hello Alicia do you sell this face mask mold?? If so how can I order it?? Thank you.
@@karenwalters2007 I don't usually do but I have spares. If you are interested I can give you one. But the only problem is shipping. Where are you located?
Hi Alicia, do you still have these? And are you in the uk?
@@natasha2795 I have but I am in Singapore
@@aliciajade9808 oooooo well if you ever come to England ☺️ lol
Hello. How can I get the recipes? Please advise.
Loved Ur video.. Is their any chance that you would many substitutions and uses of the products used?
Hi there, I'm not too sure what you may be asking, but I'll try an improvise. Agar Agar is what forms the gel, but feel free to get creative with the other ingredients as they can be substituted.
Can anyone tell .What is the importance of argeline peptide in this formulation?
So how do you make a hydrojelly mask? Are you responding to our questions?
No matter how thin I make the sheet the mask breaks. I’ve tried with sodium alignate , xantham gum, guar gum with the same result. After a bit more research I think I’ll add plant cellulose. Do you think that will keep it together?
Hi Annastazia! You can only use Agar Agar. The the other gums will not form a gel like the Agar Agar will.
what can i add to it to make it more solid so the mask wont break? or could i use less water@@EssentialLabsOfficial
Try using glycerine in your mixture; it’ll keep things pliable and incidentally keep it from drying out prematurely.
Could I have measurements pls🙂
What is the importance of using toner as the solvent instead of deionized water, or a tea, or distillate, or other extract?
It depends on the ingredients and the purpose behind what you’re using the mask for. Teas can provide antioxidants and tannins, but toners can provide antioxidants too, depending on the toner.
Good evening, I would like to ask you if I can remove the alginate peptide, and what else can I use in its place or not use it at all thank you
What are the measurements for the ingredients? Does it matter?
Put sugar and milk in it, you can eat it after masking your face.
for packaging would you avoid folding? would rolling it up work?
Hi Mechel, great question! You should avoid folding them, but you can certainly try rolling them. I'm not too sure how they are going to hold up, but it doesn't hurt to try!
Can you add an essential oil for moisture?
Hey there- You can certainly add an Essential Oil!
She said that at 3:39...
