Sylenth is a great VST. Been using it for years. I have the latest version as of March 2023. However... it has the most convoluted way of saving a users own presets into an existing user preset. Unless that user begins in his/her own preset bank and creates a preset from Init.
Yes I agree, the preset layout is very cumbersome. I created a private "init bank" where I can create my own banks from scratch super fast. I try not to use "single presets" for the reason you mentioned here. Loading in a single bank (with high-quality presets) is the best way for a good workflow in Sylenth1 (great synth!). I have some premium Sylenth1 banks here if interested: itsgratuitous.com/product-tag/sylenth1/
Hi there - thanks for your helpful videos. I'm on Mac and have been trying to add my own custom Sylenth banks for weeks with no joy. Do you know where. the Sylenth folder is on Mac? Its not where all my other serum/diva etc files are. thanks!
Hey there, I think Sylenth1 stores it where it installs Sylenth1.. in Sylenth1 I think you can open preset folder on the menu for quick access.. you can also create your own custom preset folder
@@itsGratuiTous hey pal, so when I add serum/diva presets for example, I just make the custom folder and the preset/folder appears in the vst. On my Mac, all the plugins/presets are in the same place - apart from Sylenth - no idea why - I have redownloaded it 3 times and the factory banks are not in the usual Mac presets location. So I made my own Sylenth folder here and copied presets into it. But then when I try to add that custom folder from the Sylenth vst, nothing happens. Its really weird! I see people online having trouble finding the LennarDigital/sylenth folders also but can't seem solve the problem. Even so, I would have thought adding a custom folder, (as long as the correct Sylenth presets are in there) from any location should work in the vst. hmmm
Yes, I like to keep all my Sylenth1 presets within the install folder. Within Sylenth1 you can then select that "custom" folder. As for your problem of Sylenth1 not finding your presets, I have no idea.. everything works great on my end. Make sure you are using the proper Sylenth1 format if you are using presets or a bank (they are different).
Not working here - the presets ARE loaded into Sylenth - into a temporary "custom" folder - but are not being SAVED into the factory tab where yours appear. Any idea?
How are you installing the presets? What folder location.. and you can create your own folder as well for easy management and backup purposes down the road!
@@itsGratuiTous Hey, thanks for your response - the presets (.fxp and .fxb files) are saved on my external hard drive. I AM able to load them, per se, but they appear in Sylenth as Menu > Bank > "Current" (not under "Factory" or "Custom") and if I close out they are not there anymore - I have to load them all over again. I've tried literally everything - watched every video and even referred to the manual (!). This process is a snap in Massive or Serum, so clearly there's something I'm missing here.
You have to clone your folder into the Sylenth1 default folder, or select custom folder, then select your folder.. my question is how are you loading them in? They should be in the Sylenth1 location so it loads your presets
No if you load it won’t save - drag your .fxb banks into either Factory or go Menu -> Custom -> Choose location to select your own custom folder.. I show step by step in video
@@itsGratuiTous these are professional w.a. production sylenth libraries and i put them in the custom folder first, but not one of the w.a. production folders are visible in sylenth....i put the folders in the factory folder, also not visible....i created a new folder and copied the presets, not visible ....all other libraries are visible, and some of them also have just presets in it, no .fxb bank file, no problem ....when i load a single w.a. preset it's working but when i go left or right, i'm back in the og factory bank ....wtf
