Totally agree with what you said at the beginning of the video. When I was 15 I took a English language certification attesting a level B1. But I was so well prepared that I ended up getting a B2 level. Praticing with mock exams is a key step in the test preparation, because we get to encounter frequently used words/grammar structures in the exam, know exactly what to do for each part of the test and now what's expected from us. Congratulations on getting a C1 level on the test, hope to see you speak French in your videos now!
I just passed DELF/DALF b2 and also got my results at Christmas. I agree it’s the best Christmas gift ever! I spoke French fluently when I studied in Paris 10 years ago but haven’t used it much since then. I studied in Paris twice during college and was a very confident speaker, but now I find I have a lot of anxiety around the language and it really impedes my motivation and ability to study well :/
I think all of us learning a foreign language feel this anxiety. It's completely normal. In fact, the linguist Stephen Krashen has written extensively about this kind of stress "filter." I find it critical to not focus on mistakes. In other words, the worst thing you can do is try not to make mistakes. Just focus on the meaning of what you are trying to say, and don't think about grammar. If you have conversations with people in French ask them to correct you only after you have finished. If they interrupt you with corrections, it will cause you to stress and block.
Im currently traveling to France to study French for a semester. I tested an A2 on my previous French placement test but I hope to take the DELF at the end and get a B1 or B2

Another great video! Thanks, it helps to motivate me. I have been studying French on my own for decades (on and off). I have taken college French courses and Alliance Francaise classes. I have levels 1-5 Pimsleur and currently taking level 3 Fluenz. I can't seem to get past a level 1A/B. :(
I once did a test on my French skills after one year of school lessons :'D today, I study French in University and it's really cool. I have a grammar class, and last time we did a conjugation test. Everybody else but me new about it, just I had not been warned. Anyway, I wasn't too nervous, I thought I could rely on my grammar skills. Unfortunately, we had to fill in the gaps of an excerpt of French literature. The mainpart of the verbs was first person passé simple, a tense we never learned at school and which I only knew from books. So I filled in the gaps with passé simple third person, hoping it might be the same form... well, now I know better than that. And thanks to your wonderful video about swearing, Rosie, I can at least properly complain about it in French :'D Really, that test was breaking my ovaries, putain! 😁
Guys! I took TCF and I got C2 in both comprehension parts, and C1 in both production parts. I'm still surprised, I was honestly expecting B2, maybe C1 in reading comprehension. What I did was: I already had an alright grammar foundation, so 90% of my studying for this test was listening, listening and listening like crazy. Important: my grammar is not perfect, I still make mistakes and hesitate and there are a lot of things I dont remember. So I kind of read the grammar (5% of my study time), and did practice speaking (5%). I studied for like 6 or 7 months before the test, 3 to 6 days a week. And I found listening content that I found interesting, so I it wasnt like "ugh, I have to study" but "let's see what this video is about, how cool." So yeah, bottom line: listen, listen, listen. (I also used TV5's videos and took 16 test models).

Which test is easier to get a higher score in (TEF or TCF)? Which book series is ideal to start with from your Amazon book list? Is the Bescherelle book good?
Merci d’avance !

Hello Rosie. This maybe a silly question, but was the test all together on one sitting or did you have to do the different parts at different times? Please tell me you did something special for yourself to celebrate.
Hi Rosie, one question, how many times a year do they do this marathon? I can't do it this time, but in a month and a half I'm going to live in France and I want to get ready to go to the university. Thanks and congrats!
@@NotEvenFrench Thanks so much!! I enrolled in the half marathon 😊 I'm excited to begin! I think it'll be helpful to get a good enough level of French to get a job after I arrive.
I signed up for a trial a few days after watching your Lingoda video and then registered for the half marathon. To my surprise the marathon started immediately after the trial, so 20 December, and it says in my account that it expires 20 March.
Great video again Rosie and congrats on C1! Did you start at A1 level or were you able to skip some of the exams due to other qualifications from high school in NZ?
As a french person I think it's wicked to give for a test a quebecqois accent, because even us can't understand a shit, and gosh it would be funny if you had a test on a speech of LASSALE

Bonjour !
Merci d’avance !
Felicitations !! but why did you decide to do the TCF as opposed to the DELF or DALF ? I hear everyone telling me it's better to do one of those than the TCF but I'm never entirely sure
Salut! You said you prepared for TEF from Lingoda.. however Lingoda doesnt help with TEF according to their website. What subscription did you take at Lingoda and how did it help?
سلام از شما خواهش می کنم که برای محاجرت به استرالیا من راهنمایی بفرمایید خاهش
Great video again Rosie and congrats on C1! Did you start at A1 level or were you able to skip some of the exams due to other qualifications from high school in NZ?
Did you take TCF Canada test? What did it look like?

As a french person
I think it's wicked to give for a test a quebecqois accent, because even us can't understand a shit, and gosh it would be funny if you had a test on a speech of LASSALE
Does this make you want to start on German or, easier, Italian?
I am preparing for the TCF exam, i need to know the writing topics or the link for sample writing questions for the three tasks that appear in the exams

Hello! Okay I know this video is 2 years old and there's a good chance you won't see this, but I was wondering if you had any advice on specific topics to prepare for the speaking part (aka the part I am dreading the most). I can speak about most things to a certain degree but I'm worried about the more complex topics and was wondering if you knew of any resources to get some ideas for this :)
I was actually looking for a way to prepare TEF or TCF for free, and money is the last thing I have right now. What I really have is the desire to learn more and prepare my future,. Then I'd like to know if there's any university course just like Cambridge or British Council?

Is DELF exam only for school students?can adults also or university students take it?
Hi, I hope you will be able to answer my question.
I would like to know what happen if I scores more points in comprehension oral and expression oral and less points in the other two but it's still rounds up 50/100. Would that still count as a passing score?
