HealthWell Foundation Update

In spite of the difficult circumstances that continue to consume our daily lives, NADF remained steadfast in identifying new programs and initiatives for those with adrenal diseases.
NADF’s alliance with the Heathwell Foundation has enabled many underinsured to obtain much needed assistance. Through the fund, HealthWell will provide up to $6,600 in financial assistance for a 12-month grant period to eligible patients who have annual household incomes up to 500 percent of the federal poverty level. Over $100,000 has already been granted. (US Only)
HealthWell’s website lists all of the medications that are covered, including the newest one: Alkindi Sprinkles, a very exciting new pediatric formulation now available in the US. FDA-approved hydrocortisone granules allows for more precise dosing in infants and young children with adrenal insufficiency.
In addition to the Adrenal Insufficiency Fund, HealthWell recognized that they could do more to lend a helping hand to those impacted by the pandemic and opened a second COVID-19 fund to provide insurance premium assistance to workers who had been laid off or furloughed as a result of the public health crisis.
Through the COVID-19 Insurance Premium Payment Assistance Fund, HealthWell is able to provide up to $6,000 in financial assistance for 3 months following grant approval to eligible households where the policyholder or covered member of the policy has a diagnosis of cancer or chronic illness and is in active treatment where disruption of therapy could cause serious, potentially life-threatening, consequences for the patient.

3.Is your medication listed as an eligible treatment?
4.Does your income fall within guidelines?
5.Are you receiving treatment in the United States?
