I'm a home gardener. Also dabbling with small hydroponics. In my quest to better understand how to best grow my veggies. The symbiotic relationship between plants, microbes and fungi have led me here. Enter the phrase arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis. I get the general idea so the finite details on how they interact with all the different genes and such can take a back seat for now. Foundations can take long enough to build before you even get to piece together the rest of the building.
Beautiful lecture. Thank you. I’ve been using polyculture mycorrhizal symbiosis to regenerate Arizona desert and reverse desertification. The clarification of the method of infection by the Mycorrhizal fungus into the plant root cells is precious to me. Thank you.
That was a well spent 1/2 hr. I havent heard it layed out so quickly, and completely like this. A lot of people know this but only on the surface. I am glad to have learned this here. Thank You.
Nifty. I wonder how much mineral nutrition is transferred to the plant when the arbuscule collapses in the cell? It would be a slick way to transfer difficult to hand off minerals to the plant.
There is a turnover of these arbuscules and so collapsing arbsucules are replaced by newly formed arbuscules to continue the nutrient transfer process.
And the millions of millions of millions of years are all necessary to be mentioned. As we must always reference the mantra of evolution or we will be ostracized from the scientific community lest they not accept us…
This Is simply Golden Knowledge for Plant growers and enthusiasts
Absolutely!
As a german biologist and gardener I am very proud aout my intelligent and inspiring countrywoman.
She is very intelligent for sure!
Marry her.

Hi there,
Can you share your work/progress? I am very interested, i want to do the same in Sahara, north Afrika.
I'd love to know more about your work! Please do share :)
Thank you for this valuable presentation.

Excellent presentation !!!
Very interesting lecture. There are many types of mycorrhiza. Each one is special.
Great research.... 👍
Fascinating and great breathtaking details.
Most appreciated works. Regards.
thanks , what amazing lecture!
Thanks for this.
Thank you ma'am
Amazing lecture
All this info is flying over my head 😵💫
can anyone know about genetic organization of arbuscular mycorrhizae

It's interesting that AM fungus also receives lipid from the plant. But, Could someone explain to me how AM fungus uses fatty acid?
The answer is at 26:30
It fuels growth of fungal hyphae. Fatty acids are used to build the cell walls of hyphae.
Can plant roots be infected by mycorrhizae while they are dormant in the winter?
I am serious coffee farmer.may you let me know if addition of Em1to organic manure can increase micorrhiza multiplication.
can anyone know about ............carbon metabolism and transport in arbuscular mycorrhizae ?
Can I get this lecture in pdf file
That would be great tbh
