0:30 the reason why genji should have high sens is because he's a 360 degree character you're always constantly have to turn multiple times around a fight because of your dash ability. 3:30 you should be looking to secondary fire melee cancel into a blade sneaking in that melee is also applicable with your tip
The thing is about high sens is that it’s hard for some people to get use to and be pin point with so I always recommend a low/fast sens for him to help with accuracy for controller
@@WhoKoa It depends imo, I was a top500 console genji onetrick and I found that using low aim smoothing with exponential curve works super well for blade. Building ult with fans or straights from mid distance works super well while close range fans can be flicked to the head easily. Turning becomes naturally faster thanks to exp. curve. Combine that with the bumpers for jumping and genji can be a force go be reckoned with. But ultimatley everybody has their own way of playing that they have to master and genji is insanely reliant in game sense, more so than pretty much any hero so its entirely a matter of practice and personal prefference.
@@gavinferguson2938 that is true and that’s why I tell people to try high sens and practice on it and if they don’t like it I always recommend a slower one (doesn’t have to be extremely slow) but just a slower one than what they previously had

True, that’s also my biggest weakness, hitting my shurikens. My blades are pretty consistent, get around 2-3 kills with it, but shurikens? Not so much.
I'm a Silver 1 Genji and in my honest opinion it's better if you practice Genji shuriken by thinkin that it works like Reaper shotgun without the verticle bullet, it can help you hitting the enemy more and if they're below half it's probably better if you go in for the dash + melee combo which is basically 80 damage if you do it right
Huge tip for anyone who hasn’t done this, but put deflect on the jump button~ and put jump on a trigger. It’s a must for controller players imo Also if you can get used to clawing your controller, and playing with a finger on each trigger/bumper~ you’ll be able to get a lot faster combos once you get the practice, but that one’s way less important

@@chill5721in Overwatch, what you do is always dependent on the decisions that your team are currently making. Pretty solid stuff my guy. I just wanted to say my 2cents on a stigma I see especially in lower ranks... Genji is actually better on defense than on attack. I am gonna try to slow down my combos and dashes. One area i kinda struggle is dashing at ppls feet so i can be in their face. I use linear bc i found i hit combos easy with it and i use high sense with aim assist to rein in that high speed for some needed accuracy at range. Ive been making an attempt to dash at ppls sides and turn 90 degrees for the combo but sometimes they will walk forward or move in a way that i have to try to do a 160/180 anyways. I am a diamond genji main been playing for like 5 years and i would like to say I'm pretty good. My mechanics and aim are pretty good and i have good understanding of positioning until I start to blade. Any tips to mitigate me from going into a situation with blade.
For the most part you gotta think about cooldowns and who has what. Once you understand what the enemy team has wasted then you’ll be fine. Look for the supports and dps first and focus at least 2 kills.
Don’t think to much about your deflect. You should be thinking about wall climbing and using your dash to get away. Stay close to any sort of high ground just in case you have to escape, or even your teammates. Make sure you make a plan before diving onto someone.
Personally low sensitivity feels too slow for me and higher sensitivity makes it feel more comfortable. I play max sensitivity both horizontal and vertical and I still think it’s not fast enough because I want to be more fluent in 180°’s I have 53 hours on Genji PS5.
I have a counter argument for you saying low sensitivity is better for genji, after genji dashes (swift strikes) he would benefit so much more from a fast sens to instantly turn and alt fire the enemy, its so much more consistent and with dragon blade i tried many times to do it on default sens and its so hard as half the time i need to turn after dashing to hit my enemy, and its feels almost impossible to do it consistently, long range shuriken aim is not a problem as you dont need your aim to be that precise, and medium range its totally ok to use high sens too, overall he benefits more from higher sens, the difference was unexpectedly huge
Fast sense is most definitely better. I was mainly talking about the people that struggle on high sense on genji. I find low sense more consistent for me but if high sense works for you by all means continue to use it.
ya low sens is horrible for him, on every character actually. its such a fast pace game where enemies are flying everywhere, i dont know why you would wana hav low sens other than for high firerate aim tracking characters
I have my sens on 45 for looking then for looking up and down I have it on 35 this is best for me I am a doomfist player but I think this work on genji I think I will do it for doomfist too
my mechanics r good i just have absolutely 0 game sense and get lost way to often. im good at shooting and combos (when i finally get the opportunity to hit them) but thats about it. overwatch is my first heavily team based game so i guess its not unfounded that i have no idea what im doing. i really wanna keep him tho because his playstyle is closest to fighting games which im more familiar with. one thing ive found that messes with me the most is how short/small he is compared to other characters, probably cs hes almost crouch walking on default but people can so easily jump on your head and its so disorienting
Yea I would highly recommend learning the height difference first because it messes everyone up at first because genji crouches and with the game sense part you should watch good players play him and you’ll pick up a few things
The issue with my sensitivity(I play on PS4 my settings are like yours I can’t always accurately hit my shurikens but I can hit my dragon blades and dashes I just need better sensitivity or I need someone to watch me play Genji and give me some actually tips
I get hit a ton I always see the top genji players and they almost never get hit but then I also see people saying that you shouldn’t always double jump bc it’ll mess your aim up which my aim in general is terrible as genji
My only problem with genji is sensitivity settings. Not aim, the settings. Everytime I find the "perfect settings for me" they become wayy too fast after a while and I'm back to square one It's definitely not a controller issue aswell as I got a new one recently, tried my usual sens but everything just feels horrendous. I'm convinced Blizz did something with sensitivity settings as this only started happening after season 7. I'm hesitant to go back only because of this
I watched this and looked at some of the combos aren’t some of them pointless rn I mean this was 4 months so it’s on me for watching late but it seems like he does enough damage and the combos are to long
I'm a pc genji main, recently I have tried to play on the console. IT WAS SO HARD, I respect all of you genji console players, keep trying to improve
it would be so much easier if they have more optimized sensitivity, it’s not fast enough to flick
0:30 the reason why genji should have high sens is because he's a 360 degree character you're always constantly have to turn multiple times around a fight because of your dash ability.

For the most part you gotta think about cooldowns and who has what. Once you understand what the enemy team has wasted then you’ll be fine. Look for the supports and dps first and focus at least 2 kills.
I just hate how the most send doesn’t feel fast enough for me on Genji lol
Hopefully you see this I feel like I’m having a real hard time disengaging from enemies and feel like I’m wasting my deflect any tips?
Don’t think to much about your deflect. You should be thinking about wall climbing and using your dash to get away. Stay close to any sort of high ground just in case you have to escape, or even your teammates. Make sure you make a plan before diving onto someone.
hi, do you use claw?
Yes I am a claw player
Personally low sensitivity feels too slow for me and higher sensitivity makes it feel more comfortable. I play max sensitivity both horizontal and vertical and I still think it’s not fast enough because I want to be more fluent in 180°’s I have 53 hours on Genji PS5.
Gold genji and my biggest weak is matchmaking
For me my only problem is when i dash behind someone and want to look at them it's kinda slow idk even tho my sens isn't slow
Just controller problems unfortunately
@@WhoKoa Thx
@@WhoKoa What you said is also very true
Tysm 😊
I ALWAYS WONDERED WHY PPL JUST STOOD STILL
As a former gm Genji main, good job 👍
I still think they need to add a fov option as pc has it and I feel like it would make me 5x better😂😂😂
The issue with my sensitivity(I play on PS4 my settings are like yours I can’t always accurately hit my shurikens but I can hit my dragon blades and dashes I just need better sensitivity or I need someone to watch me play Genji and give me some actually tips
Thank you.
Are you play in ps5 or xbox
Xbox
Series s or x

This video got me to diamond
What does aim assist ease in do?
I get hit a ton I always see the top genji players and they almost never get hit but then I also see people saying that you shouldn’t always double jump bc it’ll mess your aim up which my aim in general is terrible as genji
Is it bad I got over like 300 hours probably on genji across all my accounts. I’m still average 😂
Everyone gets better at different paces so I would say no :)
Do u play claw
Yes I do
Ultimate guide in 4 mn ? Was just the introduction right?
Study my Genji
My only problem with genji is sensitivity settings. Not aim, the settings. Everytime I find the "perfect settings for me" they become wayy too fast after a while and I'm back to square one
It's definitely not a controller issue aswell as I got a new one recently, tried my usual sens but everything just feels horrendous. I'm convinced Blizz did something with sensitivity settings as this only started happening after season 7. I'm hesitant to go back only because of this
Same here
Im hard stuck gold because I can't turn properly after dash
I have sens on 45 too 55 trust me I did it today and it's so good
Im gm 5 but I don’t find good Settings tbh
Not meant for everyone just personal preference. Also those are my old settings.
I watched this and looked at some of the combos aren’t some of them pointless rn I mean this was 4 months so it’s on me for watching late but it seems like he does enough damage and the combos are to long
I just wanna say I HATE XIAO and great video
What did xiao do 😭
No way thats ur actual setting. U shouldn't be able to turn that fast with 100 aim smoothing on console let alone on a dual zone
