Love the content and the Genji tips! I havent seen a good genji beginner guide since OW1 days. This is a great resource for a lot of people and summarizes the info i usually give to people who want to start playing genji. 2 more general tips to add: 1. You cant play genji like tracer. You will die when away from the team because you dont have any real sustain options. Play genji on off angles where you are only a dash away from supports or stay in their sightlines (places like high grounds). 2. Dont feel overly pressured to use blade as soon as possible. Just having blade can force certain ults from the enemy team to be held (like beat or transcendence). Also using blade will straight up kill you if your team is not there to also pressure. One thing i will say that i think can be deceiving is at 14:09 you say that you can use your dash for getting ult charge. I would advise against this as a general rule. It is very dependent on how the enemy team plays, but a genji without dash at the enemy frontline is just asking to be eliminated if the enemy has certain comps. Small correction to numbers 3:02 the number should be 107. The fan melee cancel combo 4:38 is 272 with no headshots & 434 with. Also at 8:53 , its a bit subjective but the red skull pops up at the start of the N in noon so you can get a bit closer to trick Cass players. 10:00 to get out of this situation as the receiving genji, just look anywhere away from the other Genji. Seems obvious but you would be suprised on how many kills i have gotten because people forget that.
Honestly agree with a lot of ur comments and appreciate the corrections. I did want to mention the counter against the deflect by looking away from it cuz I do that quite a bit myself in other games but I felt like the video was getting a bit long. The general tips are really good too. Like I mentioned also, I say if the situation presents itself and you know that u are able to use the dash safely then I think that it is worth to build ult faster. Overall though this was mainly meant for people still struggling with genji or are new but once again great info!
i got master last season (genji onetrick) and considering i was plat the season before that it was a huge improvment. and it all comes down to offangles. offangles are so broken. my gamesense and aim is way worse than everyone else in masters but because of offangles im able to stay in masters. you should have talked more bout about that since it really helps
I wanted I give a general guide for new genji players so I gave a lot of basic info and briefly went over off angles cuz I think the video would be way too long. I do agree taking off angles on genji is a key thing though
@@Artseltzer bascially if ur team is shooting down a lane and you choose to add pressure off from the side where your team is not primarily shooting from, thats an "off angle". hope that made sense
Also for dash reset, for newer players i found out that you dont need to always land a kill to get dash back. If you deal damage to an enemy and the said enemy dies within a short time to an ally, dash will reset
@@TB-smiles not tryna selfless plug but I did go over some of my thoughts about genji and how he feels in season 9 but in short I think his neutral game is way better but blade is like worst and takes less skill. that assist dash does still work though I can confirm
One thing i did want to add for our console genji was just some settings i reccomend. Now their not for everyone but if you like the high sense of linear but want the precision of dual zone you can use these 100% both sensitivities 100% aim assist strength 30% aim assist window size 80% aim assist ease in Linear ramp aim technique Every other setting like “aim smoothing” should be set to 0% Ik what your thinking “aim assist for a projectile doesnt make sense” or maybe that you dont want to use aim assist as a crutch, and i conpletely agree. But im not gonna lie, when i started using these settings i was able to use linear which ive always found i hit more combos with but also was able to keep that fine aim at a distance bc of the aim assist. And track my target was actually so much easier, like almost way too easy. My best before would usually be about 20/6 in qp or comp, but My first game of comp with these settings i went 34/5, the next game i couldnt play genji and we lost, but the game after i went 37/6 with him. I never thought aim assist would help this much bc for single shot hitscans it just messed my aim up alot of the time, but i gotta admit ive been loving so far so id reccomend giving it a shot.
Personally I use these settings but with aim smoothing and ease in at 100, feels like im cheating ngl, when im turning my sensitivity is 100 and then when my crosshair goes over someone it feels like it goes to 20. Makes the 180 turn around shots way easier.
Thank you so much for this video; I was just looking for a track like this. I'm lucky it's not that old. Thank you very much, and keep up the great work. Greetings from the Czech Republic.
I hope this video inspires the devs to finally give him a new ability or buff… all that work we have to put in just to have the power of a sojourn in copper 5
At around 8:49 you say you have to look “straight up” to deflect bastion ult but you can actually look straight at enemies and deflect the ult right back at them. you do have to be in the exact middle of the ult while looking slightly up, because of the deflect hit box. ive replicated it many times in a custom game i made to test it, it does take a lot of practice to get it right. Besides that great video!!
I started playing a few days ago, Genji is a beast but my aim is a bit to fast. Do the deadzones have a lot to do with it? I want a fast look horizontal sensitivity but a slow aim speed. Is that possible to do in this game?
i swear us genji mains need an updated guide for how to play genji now because most dps have 250+ hp and because of that genji's combos basically got nerfed 😭
Funny u mention that. While I was recording this video I remembered that u could a long time ago from a reddit clip but after tryna pull that off so many times, i just decided to not include it cuz I'm bad and also not very practical
I know all of these tips but the main problem i have with genji is that i cant be conistent with him, in a game i can go 30-3 and get like a 4k blade and on the next game i go 7-7 and i instantly die when using blade lol
i honestly find that issue myself but u also gotta remember from game to game there is more variables like counter picks against u or they are just a straight up better player than you and it honestly is just up to u to adapt and stay consistent. Hope that made sense
5:30 blatant misinformation. Right to left slash has 0.224 sec startup ans 0.688 sec recovery, left to right - 0.112 and 0.768 accordingly. Dash lasts for 0.4 seconds and cancels sword recovery. So, slash+slash deals 220 damage in 0.224 + 0.688 + 0.112 = 1.024 seconds while slash+dash+slash with perfect timings deals 270 in 0.224 + 0.4 + 0.224 = 0.848 sec. Source: tested myself in workshop. Btw, Its even possible to get 10 swings with perfect dash resets and you can easily find clips of people achieveing this.

Is the deflect still working with Zarya bubbles? Technically the bubble should break for the deflect to work. I mean it's around Genji. The projectiles are hitting the bubble not him right?
What in game sens and mouse dpi do you recommend? I know its personal preferences but i use 800dpi and 3 to 4 with most heroes. But seems slow for genji
I personally use a 4.5 in game with a 1000 dpi. I typically try to swing my mouse across my mousepad and if I can swipe and I do a full 360 I should be good. Just feel it out from there. Hope this helps!
i would just say be able to do a 360 if u swipe ur mouse across the pad. I would say a higher sens does benefit genji a lot more but if its too high and u can't hit ur shots then its not worth so find a good balance
@@vpizz_ 360 is not possible and I am really uncomfortable with a higher sens, so i think i might stay with other heros at least in comp. But ty for the tips
