I just love the simplicity of chainsaw enemies in the series. Chainsaw to your body=bad. Person with chainsaw who wants to kill you=bad as well. Chainsaw person manages to catch you=instant death.
Not only that but the scream they made when swinging how quick the swing was/could be the sound the saw made the swiftness/quickness of it passing through leon how long before the your dead screen took over all those factor in and make it superior only other 1 that rivals it that still can't is the 4 rm only thing obviously beating 4 og is the guys look
In Re4 Remake they do the same (i actually can't remember do they cut ur head off, but i remember that other enemies for example Las Plagas in Ganado can cut ur head off)

It's not a fetish, since RE4 enemies with chainsaws have become the most feared characters in the franchise, so to give a little of that fear of (don't get close to me) they put chainsaw enemies.

I think the Chainsaw Majini in RE5 is the one with the best introduction. Although my personal favourite is the Scagdead from Revelations and its organic buzzsaw

It's too bad RE8's Sturm wasn't included. He was kinda a propeller enemy, but they weren't actually propeller blades. They were three chainsaws. Still, great job, I have loved the chainsaw enemies ever since four, so it's really cool to see the comparisons all at once.

This boss has multiple chainsaws in a propeller like mechanism on its top half, and I was just mentioning it so that on a subsequent evolution video, he could be rightfully included.
The chainsaw Majini scared the crap out of me back when I first played RE5 as a kid. After I unlocked infinite ammo for the L Hawk Magnum, I would play that mission over and over again just for the satisfaction of finally being able to kill him easily
I really like Ubistvo, he has the unique sound of a chain 😂 and swings the weapon while you can listen the cutting air around you, besides the heat that you can also see. 😮
Playing re5 as a kid i used to be terrified of the chainsaw man as i called him. Even now after replaying the game after 10 years i knew exactly when his scene came up.
I’ve been more terrified of RE4 Dr. Salvador than RE5’s Chainsaw Majini as Salvador is far more aggressive and there’s a smaller window to dodge Salvador than the Majini

There are still plenty of enemies that can decapitate Leon, and there are many enemies who have better death animations that in og, like el gigante eating Leon's head or Krauser crushing it with his mutated arm, the only death that i would really consider a downgrade compared to the og is the one where the novistador melts his face.

We all know that the best is the chainsaw Majini due to its good design, good cinematics and the difficulty it adds due to the lack of armory and ammunition that you have when starting out.
Of all the chainsaw I think re 4 remake tops them all including super Salvador. But if re 5 gets remade I think this one chainsaw can triumph re 4 remake. I wish they had more lore for guys like that.
honestly, maybe we won't even have a Chainsaw Majini in 5, since they took J.J out of 4 Remake to probably use it in 5 REmake in the future. Plus Parry with the knife, for example, works much better in 5 because the protagonists use machetes, allowing them to hold the saw blade.
RE4: First one, best one, no question. RE5: An attempt to recapture the fear it brought in 4. It works but wasn't needed. RE Revelation: Didn't play, looks to be a cool design. The monster mutated out of the poor guy. RE6: Worst one. Design isn't bad but much like the rest of the game it's in, just a mess of trying to one up what came before and bloating the game. Not my least favorite enemy of 6, but can't help but go "why are you even here outside of chainsaw quota?" Re7: Mia in the opening? Terrifying. Jack in his fight? Crazy awesome. Also makes WAY more sense why chainsaws would even be around. Re4R: A side step from RE4 original. The fact you can block the chainsaw makes them slightly less deadly, but still scary, and the fact their AI actually lets them attack from any angle rather then keeping them from doing anything unless you're looking at them head on jacks up the panic factor despite the movement options. Honorable mention, RE Rev 2: Pedro may be using a drill rather than a chainsaw, but he fills the same role. Points for the tragedy of the fact you watch him turn in front of you and becomes a threat.

But I don't. You can like it all you want, I hate the thing. And if anything I was too kind to RE5's for saying "it works but wasn't needed". Maybe if they do have a RE6 Remake it'll come back and be a good enemy, maybe even the best as you claim, but for me, it's the worst.

RE5 Majini chainsaw dude is easily the "scariest", and reason is that first encounter you don't have whole lot of good or upgraded weapons and Sheva will constantly try to run in and punch him so he will perform his instant-kill move on her. It can be very frustrating and one of the couple of times where you actually have to babysit Sheva.
Remake 4 is definitely scarier. The village is insanely difficult as it is as you’re being surrounded by hordes of ganados who grab you all the time or take half your health with a single attack. It’s hard enough to just survive them but add a literal insta kill chainsaw to the mix and it gets 100x harder. Not to mention, you’re severely under-equipped. You get a few shots with the shotgun and you realize it isn’t as effective as in the original.
but this occurs in 4 Original and Remake, but much better, since it is at the very beginning of the game that the player is still learning how to play.

It’s hard enough to just survive them but add a literal insta kill chainsaw to the mix and it gets 100x harder.
Not to mention, you’re severely under-equipped. You get a few shots with the shotgun and you realize it isn’t as effective as in the original.
but this occurs in 4 Original and Remake, but much better, since it is at the very beginning of the game that the player is still learning how to play.
