Me too! It's been too long since I've had a good run of reading. The God Engines is not a really popular work by Scalzi, but I thought it was an interesting read.
Hey Connor! Good to have you back 😅 I haven't read any of the Emily Henry books, but what I hear is you either love Beach Read or People We Meet on Vacation, but I could be wrong. Most people seem to enjoy Book Lovers.
Hey! It's been a bit lol Good to finally have read books to talk about on here. Oooh we'll see which one of those I end up being a fan of lol I think I'll end up liking People We Meet on Vacation more based off of the premise, but we'll see.
I have had Among The Beasts and Briars on my TBR for a long time. I really need to pick up the sequel to Aristotle and Dante.....or maybe not LOL. Cattle Stop sounds good!
Among the Beasts and Briars is such a quick read. You'd be able to knock it out in an afternoon when you pick it up. Yeeeahh the Ari and Dante sequel is not as good as the first book, I don't think. Not even really close. Cattle Stop knows what it's doing and doesn't try to do more lol It's a fun time if you go into it not expecting anything but that.
Oh me too! I cannot wait to see how Naomi has built the world outside of the school. I'm hopeful, and after the ending of the second book, I'm curious how that will be addressed. Also, I'm incredibly pumped for the second book following Amari. The first book was so good that I'm just excited to see what B.B. Alston's brain has in store for her next.
You’re definitely not the only one! 🤣 I did enjoy the story fine enough, but I think what it is is that I really like the ideas Holly Black comes up with, but I want more from the executions of them
I recommended you Alexis Hall's Waiting for the Flood! I haven't read Glitterland, as I tried the opening and found it too depressing, but if you find the main characters being dick-ish indicates that his works are formulaic, I can assure you that's not the case, as the MCs in Waiting for the Flood and Pansies are definitely not that.
You’re totally right. Waiting for the Flood’s MC was definitely not dick-ish. He is so sweet. I picked up and read it yesterday lol I’m sure I’ll talk about it in my next wrap up.
I haven't read Amari yet (but really should!) but I have a sneaking suspicion that anyone who enjoyed that book would enjoy TJ Young & The Orishas series (The Gatekeeper's Staff is book one!). Ooooh First Sister has kinda been on my radar but it sounds fantastical.. !
I read the Artemis Fowl series a few years ago and loved it, and then read The Fowl Twins (book 1), and I was disappointed in it. So it's not just your nostalgic heart! Aww Stevie haha. I have Amari and the Night Brothers on my general TBR. Glad you really liked it. I enjoyed the first Aristotle and Dante book years ago too but have heard mixed things about the sequel so I haven't picked it up. Good to know you didn't like it as much as the first book. I think it'll be a miss from me.
Glad you’re back! Hope all is well. Definitely going to be adding a few of those books to my TBR, as if it needs to grow longer lol. Really enjoyed the video :)
I'm glad to be back! I'm a full-time attorney now, so my reading time has been greatly diminished. After the initial fatigue of starting this job, I've gotten back into using my free time on weekends to read more. Right lmao my TBR will never cease to grow and is already hundreds of books long.
I really love Amari and the Night Brothers! I'm excited for the sequel. I DNFed the second Ari and Dante book after like 100 pages, I just wasn't into it.
Amari and the Night Brothers was so good. I've got the second book on my holiday/birthday list if I don't swoop it up before then. I've also put the second The First Sister book on there as well. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the galaxy next. I didn't talk about it, but there is a group of Androids/Robots that abandoned humanity and have ordered humanity to not try to go farther than the asteroid belt, so I'm looking forward to that coming back into the story somehow.
I loved Artemis Fowl. I read that with my kids for their school Bookclub. Such a fun series. I was surprised by how much I like Book Lovers. I am not a romance reader. I prefer to stay in my murdery lane. I have put her other two on hold. Great to see another video from you and Stevie.
Me too! I started it way back but finally finished it 5 years ago maybe. Artemis Fowl is such a fun time. I think for Book Lovers, it was the relationship of the two sisters that got me invested in the overall story. I love a good sibling duo. I may need to start filming with the bed in the background again, so Stevie and Nook can hang out while I talk books lol
Welcome back!
Thank you!
I didn't know about John Scalzi's book The God Engines. That sounds really good. I'm glad you're having a good reading year. Peace.

So excited for the next instalment in the schoolomance series! I loved Amari and so excited for the sequel!

Yay it's Connor! glad to see you back! hopefully more regularly too 😛
It’s me! I’ll hopefully be around more regularly! I hope to record at least a review tonight after I get off work to post this weekend 😁
Alexis Hall's best book is Pansies. For Real is great too.
The Rihanna of booktube is back
Hah glad to be back making book videos finally!
@@ConnorOBrien Amen! If you dropped a video that only means Rihanna is going to drop that album
Are you excited about the final beartown book coming out soon!?
Yes! I’m pumped and ready to be absolutely devastated 🤣
So excited your back!
Happy to be back!!
I feel like I’m the only person in the book world who liked Book of Night 😂 I totally get why people aren’t fans though
You’re definitely not the only one! 🤣 I did enjoy the story fine enough, but I think what it is is that I really like the ideas Holly Black comes up with, but I want more from the executions of them

I was sooo disappointed in the 2nd Aristotle and Dante Book. The parent aspect was the worst part, trying to be vague lol
Honestly, me too. I know the parental aspect you're hinting at, and it's more like the whole book. A little unnecessary.
I DNF’d ice planet Barbarian I don’t get the hype! Lol
Yeah, it wasn’t my favorite. It’s a quick read but not really my cup of tea.
I haven't read Amari yet (but really should!) but I have a sneaking suspicion that anyone who enjoyed that book would enjoy TJ Young & The Orishas series (The Gatekeeper's Staff is book one!).

I've been meaning to read Deadly Education, I've had it forever and still haven't gotten to it yet
I think Galadriel is hilarious, and her interactions with the school are great. She's so over it, and I love it.
Glad you’re back! Hope all is well. Definitely going to be adding a few of those books to my TBR, as if it needs to grow longer lol. Really enjoyed the video :)

Adds first sister to my TBR
I hope you enjoy it!! I’ve put the second book on my list to purchase at some point!
@@ConnorOBrien just got it from the library :)
@@rebar351 you work quickly!!
@@ConnorOBrien I’m surprised normally my library is notorious for long waits I’m normally anywhere from 15 to 40 in line lol 😂
