This has cracked the heart a bit. Quality over quantity is from a bygone era and I miss that! Mine has lasted and I will be raiding my mum's pantry when she downsizes, for the things I haven't managed to "borrow" yet. People comment that Tupperware is so expensive, but happily buy cheap, bin it, and buy again because they want it now, or a less-quality version now.
I have just had to throw away a Tupperware microwave bowl that I’ve had for 30 years. The other one I have however is still going. The Tupperware party , and it’s round robin effect, was part of my growing up in Mt Gambier in South Australia. I was going to try and replace it somewhere lon E-bay, second hand of course. Until yesterday I didn’t know they were selling some of it online until yesterday. Looking back now, especially with the advent of the internet, it seems a strange marketing strategy to make it relatively hard to buy one’s product.
I haven't seen any Tupperware being sold anywhere in many years. I usually get Rubbermaid containers from the supermarket. When the covers stop being leakproof, I recycle them and buy new ones.
16:13 I still have that beverage container, but the cover stopped being leakproof years ago. I remember a Tupperware party 50 years ago, where they tried to convince us that we needed it for every item in the refrigerator. I wasn't convinced.
I Foresee Tupperware disappearing into history. The quality of it products are cheap, they tear or crack easily and are overpriced. Just like pyrex (which I refuse to buy since they changed the formula - breaks easier) they are still business only because of their PAST reputation. Most people who are smart, shop for older pyrex & Tupperware in thrift stores, yard sales & estate sales - then you know your getting older more reliable products.
I noticed before Covid parties started being "virtual," and I think that didn't help those who went for the night out of the house midweek. And it became easier to ignore or spending as much that way and the time to save for your purchases. The other issue I saw was people being more content in impulse buying cheap and being content on ditching it for more when it stopped working.
So it is in bankruptcy. The reason...they didn't follow what made them great. Change the recipe you get a different dish. I had to beg for replacements on a lifetime warranty. Paid upfront as you well know...
Thank you from Tasmania, Australia. Still love Tupperware, the history, quality and style are endless. Expensive, but forever in my kitchen. ❤️🇦🇺
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: YOUR VIDEOS ARE SO UNDERRATED!!

Have you ever done one on Marshmallow Fluff?
I have not, but I’ll put it on the list for a future video! 😊

Hit up the thrift and second hand stores, it’s there and thriving and surviving

The stuff still works, better than any new stuff that I know, treat it kindly, don’t nuke it and it lasts

The covers stop being airtight after some years.
Thanks for a great overview. You have a new subscriber. I think it just got far too expensive and Covid probably impacted the party plan.

Sorry Love the Tupperware, your voice is off, well, it's weird and I can't listen!
