The Dyna Street Bob is no more. It is now called the 2018 Harley Davidson Softail Street Bob. There are some changes to the Street Bob in 2018. The gas tank is smaller, and the speedo is way different. Let me know what you think about this!

I own a 2015 Street Bob. About the 2018 Bob, here are the things I like: New suspension, headlight, engine, better handling, and lighter.
Things I do not like: That old speedometer gave it an air of luxury. We're missing that now. The electronic readout of the new one looks attached to the bars! What if I wanna club style it up? Smaller tank.
Probably better over all, but damn, I'll miss that speedo. Thoughts, guys?

andrew dreyer lol I completely agree with you, and I'm 15, so technically I should like that LCD thing but I think that the older style speedometer is the best, and now the gas tank looks stupid, it makes it look like a sportster, the rest is ok
for an European I feel this is huge improvement. For all the reasons you have mentioned since I ride more of twisty mountain roads rather than highways/street. I like the looks since the shock were removed and the rear swing arm looks like it's hardtail kind of :)
too bad they have made smaller tank, on the other hand I like how clean the tank looks, without the speedo. I think you will get your analogue speedo from some aftermarket brands quite soon since it will be needed for T-bars/MX bars replacement..
not sure what to think of the size changes made to the wheels.. need to try out those..
I wonder how reliable the M8 engine will be after let's say 30k miles, if not much then I probably won't ever be able to afford it so whatever! :D
I realllllly hope you're correct on replacing the electric speedo with an analogue if you want to change your bars. It's certainly something I'd do.
I can almost remember a month ago when I bought my 2017, telling the salesman if only I can Frankenstein this bike to have the softail shocks and engine on this bike.. and now it's happening with next years model.. but I'm glad I got the last year dyna, don't dig the smaller tank and digital speedometer. You can only sacrifice so much, before old school looks half ass.
Tank Mount Speedo has always been badass looking. Taking it away was really dumb.
Just got mine today. It's a bad ass bike. Hate all you want, but dyna is gone bros. My uncle has the 2015 dyna and he loves this soft tail one.

Lol... Your bike is considered "Vintage" now... There is literally THOUSANDS of die hard dyna fans upset about harley abolishing the dyna series... Im sure at this point you can flip your new bike for more than you paid for it, and go get yourself a softail....

I checked this bike out today. I ride a bobbed out 48. I’m looking for something that I can ride a lot longer with my dad and brothers. The street bob was awesome looking forward to getting it. But I agree not a huge fan of the digi speedo

I call this one Frankenstein's monster because you guys just built this motorcycle with a bunch of different motorcycles I still haven't seen anyone driving this motorcycle and I'm really hopping you guys are pulling a new Coca-Cola recipe move and bring back the Dyna street bob next year
Great video thanks for sharing I guess it'll take awhile for all of us to get used to these new changes. I am friends with a couple club guys and they are hardcore Dyna fans and it is pretty funny because they are acting like the world is ending. LOL I'm not a fan of the smaller tank and that little digital readout is kind of weird but the suspension if it is as good as they say it's going to be then that's Kick-Ass.
This is progress. Aimed at younger riders I think, which can only be a positive move by HD. I am tempted to go back to a Street Bob, and i'm not that young ! Liking the minimalist Speedo too :)
HD had no choice. The Millenials have been dumbed down, unfortunately HD changed styling to fit a dumbed down generation.

I am a little bummed about the smaller tank on the 18 model. I was considering upgrading from my Forty Eight and I was excited about a 4.7 gallon tank. The digital display looks a little small as well. I’ll need to check out an 18 to make up my mind and take it for a test ride and compare it to a test ride on a 2017.

The math is not adding up here on the fuel tank. The old Dyna got 42 mpgs with a 4.7 gallon tank. Now they loose a gallon and gain 5 mpgs. Hmmm??? I ride a lot to the tune of 2,000 miles a month during riding season. That to me is the only real big disappointment with this change.
Its got 110lbs tq at 3000 RPM, that's some real low end torque. Should pull like a freight train.

still, like my old Dyna, yet despise Harley Davidson format of what and how they do things. the same stuff repackaged with a few advancements that are new for them but not other bike manufacturers. it could over time be a winner for them, the pricing is a loss for sure. were not all idiotic, just very price conscious. time will tell. be safe and nice video as always! Awful awful gas tank, looks cheaper just worst than the old one, now looks like an indian scout copy, i was waiting for the street bob with the Milwaukee 8, but this it's not appealing me like the old one, the gas tank looks like a cheaper sportster superlow, the awful digital speedometer...i need to see the bike in a dealer shop. I have no problem with been softail now, i always like it more the softail and now i got one more close to my money possibilities, its just that looks bad for the things i have mentioned, i will keep riding my sportster more time i guess.

I think getting ride of the Dyna line is going to piss a lot of people off. I also think it will bite them in the ass ! I have a 2009 Street Glide. I was looking to replace it in 2018, now I don't know what to do. Been riding Dyna's sense day one.
I'm not pissed, but I'm not buying a softail street bob. I already have a softail. I'll probably just go buy an Africa Twin instead. I'm sure it will out perform this Street Hondabob in every way.

I like the look, the idea of a digital display! It's about time Harley moves toward people like me who will be buying for the next 40 or so years. however, this idea of a digital display was poorly executed. Anyway, I really want the new fat bob!

I think the new tank on them look stupid. Why would you want a smaller fuel tank on the bike, that doesn't make any sense. Think about this. It has a bigger engine now so you think they would go with a little bit bigger tank. Instead to do the opposite typical Harley

Scott Stewart the 48 it's a 1200 engine so they put the peanut tank on it. Harley 72 which they no longer make same thing. 1200 engine put the peanut tank on it. The 883 comes with the bigger Sportster tank on it. The smaller tank that's on the street bob is actually the 1200 custom Sportster tank. That's where it belongs on a Sportster, not a big twin.
